We had a very pleasant stay this past weekend at The Bahia. We stayed in the Garden View Suite. The room was very spacious for our family of 3 adults, 2 kids, and 1 small dog. The location was perfect, near mission beach, a short walk to many restaurants, and also a short drive to even more restaurants and grocery stores. The pool was nicely heated, and the grounds were very well kept. Pros: Our suite was very spacious, large separate living area with a small kitchenette, that included a mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave and small sink. The bathroom was huge, basic toilet and tub combo but the space was nice! The bedroom had 2 queen beds, comfy, but the pillows could be better. There’s a pull out sofa bed in the living room as well. We had the garden view and it was beautiful! We had a private balcony overlooking the courtyard and duck pond. Everything was super close, Mission Beach was a short drive away, restaurants and other stores were a short walk from the resort. We used their rental located on their main parking lot and rented a tandem bike for our family which we enjoyed! Staff was very friendly and safe! Everyone had masks on, the room was clean! Cons: We love pillows and were only provided 3 per bed, no extra pillows or blankets for the sofa bed, which was fine because we did bring our own, but it would’ve been nice to have them in the room. *Note: we didn’t request any, so maybe they were available, but we did bring our own so it wasn’t a big deal. The pillows were not the most comfortable and neither was the sofa bed. The “beach” itself was only nice if we were gonna lay out as the cabanas and beach chairs were very nice and relaxing. However the lagoon didn’t look the cleanest and I did not want my kids playing in that water. We drove to Mission Beach which was a short drive away to enjoy the actual beach with blue waves and water! Lastly, our room wasn’t ready upon arrival, our check in was at 4pm and we still had to wait about 20 minutes. After a long drive, it would’ve been nice to have a room ready for us upon arrival. Really great service with Kona. She has a great personality and a genius presence. I think because she knows the menu well and is confident in her abilities to create a good dining experience. Her recommendation on fish n chips were spot on. great atmosphere. We'll be back!
