“A little backstory: my husband and I were a little sleep-deprived and punchy the night we checked in, and somehow, we referenced the Big Bird "we ride at dawn, b****es!" meme (representing a brain on three hours of sleep), which then lead to chatting with Antares (Front Desk Manager, and an absolutely lovely person) about Jim Henson and telling… Read more
“A little backstory: my husband and I were a little sleep-deprived and punchy the night we checked in, and somehow, we referenced the Big Bird "we ride at dawn, b****es!" meme (representing a brain on three hours of sleep), which then lead to chatting with Antares (Front Desk Manager, and an absolutely lovely person) about Jim Henson and telling some interesting stories about him (I read the Brian Jay Jones biography a few years ago; I recommend). Fast forward to the following night, when we were pleasantly surprised by a gift of a trio of red wine samples, a trio of chocolates, and a card from Antares featuring Kermit the Frog, also enjoying some wine. None of it was necessary, all of it was thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated. Muppets aside, I cannot say enough good things about the Kimpton Hotel Monaco. Every member of the staff we encountered was incredibly friendly and helpful (they even acquired some cardboard and scissors to help me make a firmer "frame" to protect some vintage paper ephemera my husband bought and we needed to transport). The breakfasts we had in Outlier were delicious, the location was convenient, our suite was spacious, immaculate, and comfortable, and I even enjoyed the bath products so much, I took photos so I could remember what I used and acquire them for myself. I travel a lot, and I'm an experienced traveler. Nice hotels are harder to find these days, but not it's not impossible. Kimpton Hotel Monaco made our stay *personal*, which is incredibly rare. One of our best travel experiences ever, and certainly one of the most memorable.” Read less

It’s a 10-minute walk to the Washington State Convention Center, and just a few blocks away from theaters, great restaurants, and high-end shops, like Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Westlake Center is equally close, with its full-on food court and access to the Monorail, the iconic elevated train that whisks you over to the Seattle Center (home of the Space Needle) in a mere two minutes. Famous Pike Place Market is just a 15-minute walk away. Cruise ship terminals can be reached in about five minutes by car, while Sea-Tac International Airport is a 20-minute drive south. Read less

We booked a mystery vacation with Pack Up & Go and they sent us to Seattle Feb. 14-17, 2020. The front desk staff at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle was super! Wine and fruit waiting for us in our room, staff had a map of Seattle ready and marked spots we needed to see, and they were able to answer all our questions each time we stopped.

Kimpton Hotels always make an effort to make you feel like it is your home away from home. The hotel staff was very friendly and quick to offer suggestions as we checked in and the lobby was a great meeting place to meet friends or family with comfortable couches, seating areas, and a fireplace. The decor is fun and warm with thoughtful amenities like yoga mats in the rooms, luxurious, wall-mounted toiletries to reduce plastic waste of single-use bottles. The hotel is also a fairly short walk or Uber to Pike Place or Symphony Hall. The only downside to this property is that they don't have coffee in the rooms, only in the lobby. But in Seattle coffee is abundant so if that isn't enough for you before you walk out the door there are at least 3 coffee shops as soon as you leave the lobby. Read less

I recently stayed at the Kimpton Monaco 4 nights. I was unfamiliar with the Kimpton brand prior to this, but I enjoyed it so much I will seek it out again in the future. The hotel itself is in a great location. Pioneer Square, Pike's Place Market, and the Monorail at Westlake are an easy walk. There is a grocery store a couple blocks over as well. It was a $5-6 Lyft each way to the Clipper Vacations Pier. I got a lovely king bed room on the 7th floor. It had a nice view of the Seattle Public Library. My preference of a room away from the elevator was met as well. The room was very clean and nicely appointed. There was plenty of space. The room was very quiet. I barely heard anything at all other than occasionally the door of the room next door. I was VERY impressed with the Housekeeping Staff. I never saw anyone or anything in the hallway until the last day when I saw that they bring their version of a cart into the room as well. It's a very nice touch to not see the cart or hear the vacuuming of a room with a door propped open. There was a very clear attention to detail in the cleaning as well. The hand soap bar disintegrated once wet and made a terrible mess of pieces sticking to the soap dish each time I put it down. Every day, that soap dish was wiped clean and the remaining pieces left neatly behind. Everything was very clean. On the night prior to check out, I inquired if late check out is possible. I was granted 2PM check out, which I greatly appreciated. The entire stay was great, with only a few hiccups. My room key did cease working at noon and I did have to go get it reprogrammed to get back in after that. I also am not personally a fan of shared pump soap and shampoo in the shower, so I know to bring my own in the future. I wouldn't hesitate to return to or recommend this hotel to anyone. Read less
