Kimpton Hotel Vintage Seattle

Seattle, USA

Virgin rating

The hotel

It’s not called ‘Vintage’ for nothing — this is the Grand Cru of Seattle hotels, with interiors, wine lists, and social get togethers, all under the influence of Washington State’s wine country. It may be in downtown Seattle, but step into this boutique retreat and you may feel like you’re in a tasting room, surrounded by earthy shades blended with grape greens and burgundy. It’s the perfect place to sample the region’s fine tipples, with a complimentary wine hour every evening. Why not move on to the award-winning Tulio Ristorante, where you can tuck into Italian classics that come with a fresh Northwest twist — and a wine cellar of course.

Image of the Tripadvisor rating Bathroom was disgusting - and no coffee in room

Hair allover the bathroom floor that was blond and curly and clearly not ours. I spilled a bit of water on the bathroom floor and wiped it up and the floor was brown. The corner behind the toilet had someone’s braces elastic and dirt piled in it. The bathrooms should be the cleanest area of the room next to the bed itself. There was also no hand… Read more

Beware of extra charges besides the “resort fee” at check out. It would appear that three charges of $7 a piece were put on my account by front desk staff for items they sell, none of which I purchased. It would appear that three charges of $7 a piece were put on my account by front desk staff for items they sell, none of which I purchased. One of the items was a bag of peanuts and another was a bag of nuts. Interesting as I am allergic to both so neither myself or my husband would purchase. When called out they said they would fix it but couldn’t right then but would send updated email receipt- never happened. The room was small, dirty (found kettle corner on the floor when walked in and under the desk and chair) and the rain outside was stronger than the shower water pressure in the shower. Definitely has 2 star vibes. Gym is outside the hotel off the garage and is small but does have a peloton. Only one elevator works. Only plus is that it was quiet. Would not stay again Read less

Wow what a disappointment for thinking I was booking a bit of a upscale suite. The issues start in the lobby with overly loud music...which is worse in the only working elevator (yes the other seems out of service for extended period). We had a suite with a non working fireplace( it would not be hard to put a LCD insert fire place in same space). Heat in the suite was not controllable seemed to do what it wanted and when. Not enough staff to keep the morning coffee station filled (no coffee pots in rooms). We stayed 4 nights and it took them 3 days to go get more cocoa after it was brought to their attention they were out. When I mention lack of staff to care for the coffee...that was a everyday experience (out of coffee, out of half and half, out of cocoa, out of coffee again)-so their solution is you go ask front desk and they then go take care of it if possible. (sorry out of cocoa, and sorry out of half and half!!) Same issue with their Beer/wine at happy hour (2 out of 4 days out of any beer)- they did have wine which we don't drink. The room was spacious and clean, lower end mattress that you would not expect in a nicer hotel. Poor lighting around the sink in the suite. No recycle bins anywhere in room or lobby. For being in Seattle you would expect the coffee and recycle issues to be non existent. Another odd items was that the front desk had no change, so when I wanted to provide some tips... I was expected to go to another business....very odd to us. I would say two items that bothered us the most- loud music every time you stepped in the elevator, and lack of attention to the coffee (since you could not make your own in room). Probably should give it two stars but the location is excellent, and overall the hotel is quiet. Read less

Ross Fatemi and his team including Jesse and the valet Gary made our stay perfect. As Diamond IHG members and inner circle Kimpyon the welcome amenity from the chef included ALL my favorites including chocolate mousse and fresh fruit. Room was immaculate and car service is super prompt. Five stars
