Kimpton Hotel Vintage Seattle

Seattle, Seattle & Washington State

The hotel

It’s not called ‘Vintage’ for nothing – this is the Grand Cru of Seattle hotels, with interiors, wine lists, and evening receptions all under the influence of Washington State’s wine country. It may be in downtown Seattle, between Pike Place Market and Pioneer Square, but step into this Fifth Avenue retreat and you’re surrounded by vineyard colours: earthy shades are blended with grape greens and burgundy. It’s the perfect backdrop for sampling the region’s fine tipples, with a complimentary wine hour every evening. If the tastes inspire you, Tulio Ristorante pairs its haute take on rustic Italian classics with a fabulous wine cellar. Before they uncork the wine, Hotel Vintage serves complimentary morning tea and coffee to set you up for hitting the shops, sights or free 24-hour fitness centre.

Nice hotel in downtown Seattle. It is a charming boutique-like hotel that was warm and inviting. The staff were professional and courteous that went above and beyond to make sure I had a nice stay. Hotel is very clean with an attentive housekeeping staff, which checked in multiple times. The restaurant was closed for the week during my stay and was disappointed I could not try it. Mini bar has a small but decent selection. I will definitely stay again at this hotel. Some rooms have a view of the ocean, which was awesome. Read less

I love Kimpton! A perfect balance of class and style, without the stuffiness of some high end brands. Greeted by Jessica at reception, who was welcoming and highly efficient. Room was spotlessly clean and well appointed; super comfortable bed and pillows, Kimpton's own toiletries - (quality and fragrances to die for!) Spacious bathroom and lovely seating and working areas too. The hotel restaurant was undergoing a refurbishment during our stay but did not impact us, as we appreciate getting out to savour the neighbourhood eateries; of which there are many outstanding choices (reviewed separately but for example The Pink Door and Six Seven). Our Kimpton stay was superb and truly felt like we were coming 'home'. Read less

The good: Great location in downtown Seattle. Loved the wine happy hour in the lobby. Very clean and staff was friendly enough. The Meh: Room was so tiny. The good: Great location in downtown Seattle. Loved the wine happy hour in the lobby. Very clean and staff was friendly enough. The Meh: Room was so tiny. Their text you when your room is ready system is a little flawed. Really why I was underwhelmed? We’ve stayed in Kimpton hotels before and loved them. They gave you a personal attention that made you feel special. Here, and again the staff was perfectly friendly, we were just customers. You see this trip was for our anniversary. We were away from our children and ready to relax. The mess up at check in regarding our text message to let us know our room was ready (4 hours later we never received one), the expectation of a king bed that was not met, the lukewarm greeting when we mentioned our anniversary, the reaction to my disappointment at our room (which was sorry we didn’t “promise” a king bed, too bad we are fully booked!). It appeared staff was more than willing to accommodate other guests however. While we waited and waited in the lobby for our room to be ready, we watched a couple arrive and check in to the hotel. They were offered a choice of king or queen and ushered to their room with great care. This is what prompted us to ask about the status of our room. We were immediately chastised that they had texted us hours ago to let us know we were ready. Apparently they had our phone number incorrectly entered into their system. Oops. It just wasn’t the Kimpton experience I expected. Read less

The room was gorgeous and comfortable and we loved the non-single use shampoo, conditioner, etc, in the bathroom, both for conservation and for smell and use! Met tons of interesting people at the happy hour. And the staff was amazing - they didn’t give us a bad answer to a variety of questions (where can we watch the NBA Draft? - the Lodge, what should I take pictures of at 6 am? - Pike Place while the vendors set up and here’s a map, how should we get to T-Mobile Park? - the light rail, here’s how to use it) and they were happy to help, communicated between the shifts, and made our first time in Seattle absolutely fabulous. We arrived and things were really hectic— loud construction, phones ringing, guests missing things but our reception person ((John) was unflappable and courteous. This is an odd hotel— you enter through the garage and there is virtually no lobby. That doesn’t atop a lively wine hour scene at night. The room we had was huge and very attractive… Read more

This is an odd hotel— you enter through the garage and there is virtually no lobby. That doesn’t atop a lively wine hour scene at night. The room we had was huge and very attractive with a great bed. The location— steps from the Seattle library, many restaurants and a few blocks from the waterfront is excellent. Read less
