The hotel

It’s not called ‘Vintage’ for nothing – this is the Grand Cru of Seattle hotels, with interiors, wine lists, and evening receptions all under the influence of Washington State’s wine country. It may be in downtown Seattle, between Pike Place Market and Pioneer Square, but step into this Fifth Avenue retreat and you’re surrounded by vineyard colours: earthy shades are blended with grape greens and burgundy. It’s the perfect backdrop for sampling the region’s fine tipples, with a complimentary wine hour every evening. If the tastes inspire you, Tulio Ristorante pairs its haute take on rustic Italian classics with a fabulous wine cellar. Before they uncork the wine, Hotel Vintage serves complimentary morning tea and coffee to set you up for hitting the shops, sights or free 24-hour fitness centre.

Smaller property with limited services/room options made up for by mostly pleasant staff. With the exception of the young attractive, red-lipped check-in clerk who donned a tight, plastered smile, from the doormen/car valets to the housekeepers, service was polite and professional. The Kimpton Vintage is stylish yet comfortable with nice staff, clean, spacious and modern rooms as well as very nice toiletries. What I also liked is that it is in the City Centre but not as business busy as the streets around Pike St. Can only recommend this beautiful place a bit up the hill and would definitely stay here again!

I stayed on the 4th floor and while i didn't have scenic view that didn't spoil my stay one bit. The room was a good size and the bed was super comfortable to sleep in. The Bathroom had a tub and shower combo and plenty of hot water, so i was a happy camper. The hotel offers a $10 a day credit (if you don't use the maid services for that day and add the placard to the door knob) for either the Hotel Restaurant or the Honor bar. I used it for the Honor Bar and had a few drinks "on the house" as it were. There is no convenience store within the Hotel but there were plenty of places nearby to get drinks and supplies, one of which was an Amazon Go store about a block away. I was very happy with my stay and if given the chance, i would stay here again in a heartbeat. Read less

The bed was super comfy and the location can't be beat. The shower was small and the vanity/sink area was tiny as well. I was shocked that this hotel had been given 4.5-stars as I thought it was a 4 at best. I was also put off that they wanted to take a $400 deposit for incidentals. That seemed a bit excessive to me.

The bed was very comfortable, and the furniture overall was good in terms of a side chair and a small desk. The furnishings were really pretty, but I can't imagine any room would have a real view of anything but the buildings around the hotel. Maybe the top floors? A surprise was their room-cleaning policy. You get a $10 minibar credit for each day that you skip room cleaning. So that way I was able to have a few snacks, without having to pay for them. Read less
