So service 5 out of 10. Read less

We had a wonderful time at the Van Zandt. Frank was awesome! He greeted us when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed while we were there. Colton was also a fantastic host providing recommendations on where to go in the city. Margarita happy hour is a blast!

I stayed here for a business conference and overall it was a decent stay. However, there are a few things currently not in the hotel's favor, some their own fault and some out of their control. The check-in process was smooth but I found the staff to be slightly rude and acted as if they did not want to be there. Some people were offered drinks during check-in and some were not. It was small incidents like this throughout the stay that made things awkward with fellow travelers. Our conference started before the actual 4:00 PM check-in so we needed to leave our bags with the bellhop who was extremely rude and dismissive both when dropping off our bags and when picking them up. Some of our rooms ended up being ready earlier than 4:00 PM which was very nice. The hotel is in a great location right off of Rainey Street which is full of fun bars, cafes, and restaurants. This is great and a very walkable part of town. This also happens to be a major construction area at the moment. The hotel is surrounded on all sides by construction which during the day is not so bad but a night is HORRIBLE. Every night at about 1:00 am there would be this really loud banging sound for hours that sounded like a dumpster being emptied every 5 seconds. There are noise machines in the rooms but they did not seem to help much. This is not so much the hotel's fault but something to keep in mind if you are a light sleeper. Also, some people in my group complained about loud music until the early hours. At check-in, some of us were given two free drink tokens for happy hour. This was a very nice touch and the margaritas were fantastic. The food in general at the hotel was good. My room was nice and spacious. The bed was not comfortable in my opinion, it was very, very hard. The bathroom was lovely with a standalone shower and tub. Overall the stay was fine but definitely could have been better. The hotel is nice and has a good vibe to it and the art throughout is a nice touch. But there is definitely room for improvement. Read less

Never staying here again! Very bad service, the valet parking sucks, the rooms are poorly in electric plugs, there’s no desks in the room, the music goes until 2am, the neighborhood it’s all in construction, etc Make yourselves a favor and don’t stay here!
