Travelled with our two teenagers and grandpa. We all loved this spot. Lots to do, beautiful grounds. Private adult section. Lots of hits on the beach. The secluded island that you swim across too is the best!

I visited the Holiday inn resort with two of my friends and we were welcomed by Aldane Bonner and Shemar Gayle everyday at the restaurant. We were impressed by their hospitality and professionalism. :)

This was my 10th visit to this resort and I couldnt be happier. I wont bang on about the facilities as you will find many reviews about that, but what I will try to convey is why I still want to return time and time again. The 'feel' of this place and the atmosphere is key for me. Ive been to 5 star resorts in Jamaica but none of them has the laid back homely vibe that I get from here. That might not be to everyones taste but if you want a relaxed and friendly vibe this is the place for you. Over the years Ive become friends with many of the wonderful staff and for me they really make this hotel the fabulous place it is today. The customer relations manager Winsome Hooper was amazing as always, the General manager Mr Clark Lobban, hostess Nashay James, bar men Clarence and Damien to name just a few. The wonderful Ki-Shaun kept us entertained with his dancing skills into the wee hours in the hotel nightclub. Rasanai made Karaoke night inclusive and fun. The staff really make this hotel. I love that the resort isnt pretentious, you can dress up or dress down according to your mood or the restaurant you decide to dine in. Yes there is a charge in the Japanese restaurant but the food is so good its worth it. The fillet steak in the Italian restaurant is delicious and is included in your package. Ive would like to address the complaints Ive read on here about the air-con, yes it is a little noisy but I actually prefer this as it drowns out any background noise of other guests etc. I always take ear plugs and its perfect. Ive always found the temperature of the air-con to be just fine. The only complain I had this holiday was with Chukka Tours (booked through the Virgin rep but unrelated to the hotel itself) who failed to collect us for our planned trip and I will be writing a review on them separately due to them not resolving our complaint. I wouldnt advise booking a trip with them though due to our bad experience. Other than that our holiday was perfect. The grounds are truly beautiful and the sunsets over the little island (that in the daytime you can sunbath on) are to die for. I cant wait to return to the Holiday Inn Resort for trip number 11 to see all the wonderful staff again and to enjoy my Jamaican paradise. Read less

We have just come back from a lovely 10 day break at the Holiday Inn in Montego Bay. The grounds, beaches and public spaces were kept spotless. The beaches were gorgeous with plenty of sunbeds everywhere. Both pools were lovely and the island was our favourite spot to sunbathe, with both of us taking turns to wade back to the bar to top up our drinks! We were especially impressed with the main restaurant which did an incredible job of supplying a continuous supply of tasty food every day with a lot of choice for all palettes. Although individual members of staff were marvellous, the culture of the hotel was not so good. In the past, when visiting Jamaica, we have always been impressed with the cheerfulness and happy atmosphere of the staff. Not so at this hotel. We felt lucky that the lady on the Guest Relations desk did not bother to actually look at us when we mentioned that our room was not cleaned for 2 days out of 3 by 4.30 pm, otherwise we could have been turned into stone! To be fair, things improved on the room front after that although coffee making facilities were not always topped up. We did brave the desk another few times but the lack of any "relationship" at Guest Relations was always there! I think that the Guest Relations ladies had trained the front of house people at the 3 restaurants where one had to book beforehand, although once seated, the waiting staff were pleasant enough although the food was not as good as in the main restaurant in all three places. In summary, a lovely hotel in a good location but unhappy staff do not do the hotel any favours - and the house wines must have been selected by a tea total beverage manager - they were appalling!
