Went on holiday for 14 nights and it was amazing. The hotel is full of charm and character. The hotel has open plan restaurant over looking the sea. Has 5 more al carta restaurants. What made this hotel extra special was; The small protected and separated beaches. The beaches were always raked every morning and looked clean. The hotel has it's own Island with deck chairs and palm trees. The water in the sea was clear and could see fish swimming. Take beach shoes and snorkeling gear. This is an older hotel and yes there is work being done. But this does not interfere the lovely atmosphere and experience. Just came back today, and we loved every minute. The food was always fresh as we saw them restock and checked the buffet regularly. There was a lot of choice and never missed any food to choose from. Special thanks to the two ladies who worked at the ice cream hut. They were friendly, served with a smile and professional. We can only remember one of the staff name called Kenya. Thank you again ladies, we miss your ice cream and buttered popcorn. Thanks to Gary who helped us with the kayak boat every time. We would call this a boutique hotel because it had character and lovely friendly staff team. Highly recommended and go with an open mind. This hotel deserves to be supported and ticks so many boxes. We're already planning to go back. Read less

Have just returned from 2 weeks at the holiday inn. After reading some of the reviews I was a little apprehensive but I was pleasantly surprised. Our room was in block 5 with a garden view, this also was close to the main road which was a little noisy but with the patio door closed, couldn't hear it at all. The Air conditioning was a little louder than I was expecting but reasoned that with a season that lasts all year round it's going almost 24 hours a day, 365 days a year! And after a while the low rumble didn't bother us at all. The beds were comfy and the linens changed daily (I think), the wonderful and very friendly lady that cleaned our room every day introduced herself to us, her name was Donna and made beautiful towel decorations with fresh flowers every day. The food in the buffet restaurant was varied daily and there was always a huge selection, something for everyone. The waiters were all friendly and we didn't feel obliged to tip but we nearly always did. Noticed though that a lot of people didn't. The alcoholic drinks were very generous to the point that I was asking for a smaller one next time. Only negative was that all the drinks are served in plastic glasses in the buffet restaurant and poolside snack bars. but I fully understand the reason for this, in the al a carte restaurants the drinks are served in glass glasses though. The sea is like a warm bath and crystal clear with lots of tropical fish that are not too shy, snorkelling was amazing and we floated around for hours looking at the fish and crabs. The trips and excursions I thought were quite expensive even if booked on site. We went to dolphin cove and luminous lagoon and would recommend both! 2 bucket list places that everyone should experience. Memories that will last a lifetime. The entertainment every night was also varied and we enjoyed it every night, found it odd that other people didn't applaud as we did, often felt bad for the entertainers as it was a tough crowd and they didn't seem appreciated. The main smokers area was a good place to chat to people and although some were smoking "Jamaican tobacco" it didn't bother me and declined whenever anyone offered. Special mention to the jerk hut, loved the jerk chicken, very spicy though so beware! Heaven on the way in and devilish on the way out! My daughter and I think it was the best holiday yet and we will definatly return. Read less

We booked a last minute holiday to Jamaica and stayed at the Holiday Inn, Montego Bay. On our arrival, check in went smoothly and the staff were very professional. The hotel is all inclusive so you get all food and drink. The jerk chicken was amazing - thus it was very popular even though we went in not high season. There was the buffett which served different menus - very good. There were also other speciality restaurants which you had to book, which were also amazing. There was entertainment day and night, which we thoroughly enjoyed. There were hot tub for the adult section, the pool and the sea was right there with a little island, which you could walk to. You could also have the use of beach towels and snorkelling equipment. There had a gym, tennis, volley ball courts and other things to keep you busy. The hotel in general was clean and the rooms are cleaned daily. I wouldn't give it a 5 star, as in terms of facilities, it could do with an upgrade, however, other areas and amenities makes up for what is lacking in decor. The hotel itself is about 15 minutes or less from the airport in Montego Bay. A small shopping complex across the street. Vendors come onsite each day. Taxi drivers are onsite or if you feeling adventurous you can cross the street and take the local taxis which cost J$150 to Sam Sharpe Square. You are not far from a few attractions: Dunn's River, Sam Sharpe Square, Margarittaville (free transport is provided by the hotel to go to Margarittaville). Read less

Stayed at Holiday Inn Montegobay for 14 days and had a wonderful time. The whole process was brilliant. Excellent customer service from reservationist Karen Williams. She made the whole reservation process quick and easy. She was friendly but professional. She took the time out to listen when I was explaining what kind of holiday I was looking for then thoroughly explained what child friendly deals they had to offer. Additionally, the receptionist Shanique Richards was brilliant when I was checking in . She was very friendly and understanding of my child’s condition and didn’t pushed to put his arm band on after I explained that he is autistic. The food was great especially the jerk pork also burgers at the barefoot bar. Staffs were nice and friendly. Only had one issue with the air condition which was sorted ASAP. I would recommend this hotel. It’s child friendly and nightly entertainment is excellent especially the live band. I will definitely stay at Holiday Inn again. Read less

It was a pleasure bumping into Ms. Winsome by the lobby, she took time to say hello and chit chat with our group, made us feel welcome and connected with someone important -just in case. This is kind of important when you're vacationing with seniors. We had a terrific stay. Thank you
