Although it’s reopened with a new look, feel, and name, The Beacon Grand doesn’t want to ignore it’s past completely. The hotel pays a nod to the past, and homage to history of the city, with it’s original architechtual details – and it remains a social hotspot in the heart of Union Square. You’re in the centre of it all here, shopping at Saks Fifth Avenue is right opposite, the famous Powell Street Cable Car trundles right past the door of the hotel, and you’re right on the steps of the Theatre District – where will you start?! Well if you're not sure the 'Social Hosts' are on hand to give you insider tips. The rooms offer high ceilings and signature design, with a gel foam mattress that’ll ensure you have no problem getting to sleep. Beacon lounge is the heart of the hotel, acting as a communal living room by day and a lively gathering spot by night. Enjoy a whiskey or cocktail with live music at the weekends. Or if you fancy something a bit more exclusive, you’re one secret door away from the Hidden Library where vintage bourbons and classic cocktails are serviced just to your taste. It’s an iconic hotel that you can’t miss with the glistening of a rooftop star – so make sure you don’t miss out on seeing the inside too.

A wonderful wild time in this beautiful historical hotel!! So much history here. Decent size room with nice views. The staff were superb especially Darryl! He was so helpful and even showed us around the unique interior areas. We can’t wait to come back!

This hotel is beautiful. Our corner room was a little small. The shower water saturated the floor was the only inconvenience. Excellent location
Had a grand time!

Best hotel in San Francisco. The Beacon Grand was the perfect place to stay for my family and me. It's in a central and safe location near lots of great shops and restaurants. The Powell St. cable car stops right in front, which was convenient and fun. The rooms at the Beacon Grand are gorgeous. Everything from the paint color to the bathroom fixtures. Big windows to let in lots of sunlight when we wanted it, and very effective blackout shades for when we wanted to sleep in. Everything was so crisp and clean and new. I miss the pillows! The staff was wonderful too. I have a chronic knee injury that flared up while there. The guest relations manager saw me limping around and got me in to see a doctor just one block away who even took my insurance. Within just two hours I had a knee brace and a prescription that let me continue enjoying my vacation. Everything at the Beacon Grand was excellent and I look forward to staying again next time I'm back in San Francisco!

Great hotel, shame I’m still waiting for the refund of my security deposit a week after checking out. Contacted guest services and reception, still nothing. Hopefully someone will reach out after reading this review. Tarnishes what was a very pleasant stay.
