Faena Hotel Miami Beach

Miami Beach, Miami

The hotel

Daring to be different, yet featuring enough deco-detailing to make the grade in Miami, this five star retreat may be all cool white and slick lines on the outside, but inside it’s filled with sumptuous velvety reds, glitzy golds, and warm woods and leather: nowhere more so than in its very own theatre, an opulent cabaret venue with a nod to the grand old opera houses of Europe’s capitals. The dining’s just as decadent, ranging from the modern Asian creations of master chef Paul Qui, in the ocean view Pao restaurant, to the live-fire Argentine cooking of renowned South American chef Francis Mallman, at Los Fuegos. They’ve even thrown in a sand-skirting location on Miami Beach, a luxury spa with Amazon-sourced products, and an oceanfront pool and sunbathing deck.

Pros: Stunning decor Pool area Beach area Cons: This hotel was stunning but unfortunately has an issue with service and staff. We were there for almost a week in an ocean view corner junior suite which was beautiful. The bathroom was amazing and the toilet is one of the best things I’ve ever experienced in a hotel. btw, they are about $5K per toilet. Yes, we checked because they are so awesome. A few cons on the room but not huge. You could not see the TV from the bed. We don’t watch it a lot from bed, but it would have nice to watch a netflix show at night after a long day. I also called the day before and they told me there was a microwave in the room but there wasn’t. I hated the light buttons. They didn’t always work and you would end up with either all lights on or all lights off. The pool area and the beach were gorgeous. We spent multiple days at each. The spa was one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. We used the hammam, dry sauna, ice chamber, waterfall showers and the marble slabs. Amazing! We ate at Los Fuegos, Pao and the Sun Bar. Separate reviews. Be prepared to drop a lot of money on food. It’s superior food but it’s not cheap. $26 BLT at the pool or beach. $25 cheeseburger. $25 for a normal size rocks glass cocktail and $20 for an 8oz frozen drink at the pool. Los Fuegos was outstanding but was $350 (2 people) with only one cocktail and 3 beers. Cons: Unfortunately, most of the cons were mainly with the service. We had issues with housekeeping and turndown service. We had requested turndown and never got it on multiple nights. They didn’t take away dirty dishes and when they took the glasses, they weren’t replaced. One day we got NO wash cloths replaced. Inconsistencies that added up. One thing that I absolutely hated is that we had to request ice every time we needed it. It would take at least 30 minutes to have them bring it. It melted so quickly because it doesn’t come in an insulated ice bucket but a wine cooler. It was a pain to always have to request it. Another thing that was weird is that we had this enormous balcony. Like bowling lane length and then some but it only had an oversize chair and a small table. We never utilized it. It would have been nice to have two chairs, a couch (or chaise lounges) and a dining table so the space would have been more usable. All in all this hotel is stunning and we would definitely visit again. I would however probably book an ocean front and not an ocean view because we overlooked the entire property before catching a glimpse of the ocean. Read less

The hotel is beautiful but it has the worst customer service in banquet services, very rude people, poor organization of managers. I do not recommend this hotel for any event or group of companies. My team will never come back here again.

The reservation process was absolutely excellent- Gustavo Marini in reservations handled 2 last minute VIP reservations quickly with ease. He explained the room types in great detail which made the process really easy. I look forward to working with him again soon.
