Spent 5 nights with a friend at Fairfield Inn. Been in NY several times, but this hotel is one of the cleanest I’ve been to. The room was spacious and the bathroom clean and fresh. I booked this hotel directly adjacent to Penn Station in the event our long distance Amtrak train was late. The train was six (6) hours late into Penn Station! I stayed in contact with the hotel, alerting them of the delay. They told me not to worry, my room would be waiting when we arrived. When we got to the lobby about 1:30 AM, the staff… Read more

I stayed in contact with the hotel, alerting them of the delay. They told me not to worry, my room would be waiting when we arrived. When we got to the lobby about 1:30 AM, the staff on-duty were more than kind and accommodating. The room was small, as many NYC hotel rooms are. But it was clean and well-appointed. We slept until about 8 AM. Then we enjoyed the very nice complimentary breakfast before checking out to go home (we live in Brooklyn). My only complaint is the hotel is very pricy for a Fairfield Inn. For this specific stay I used Marriott BonVoy Points. Look for as many discounts as possible including AAA membership and senior discounts (age 62 and older). Otherwise this is a very nice property and I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Read less

I booked via booking.com in February well ahead for a stay in June. I confirmed my booking the day before, paid in full in advance, informed the hotel that l would be arriving late and kept them updated. When I reached the hotel however, I was told that my room had been given to someone else, as I had not arrived earlier. They had instead booked me into a sister hotel nowhere near the location I wanted to be in New York and had the gall to ask me if I accepted this. At almost midnight what choice did I have!! They presumably got another booking at a higher rate and decided to ditch my booking to make more money. As a result, I had to incur additional transport costs. I wrote to Marriott (one can't write directly to Fairfield Inn) and they made the ridiculous excuse that I had to take the matter up with booking.com. booking.com did contact the hotel but needless to say there was nothing further they could do. The hotel also double charged City Tax and after three requests have neither responded nor refunded it. Never again Fairfield Inn, you have irreparably damaged both your name and that of the Marriott group. Read less

Do not stay here - you can find better. Ridiculous hotel for a Marriott/ Bonvoy group at a ridiculous cost. We had 2 maintenance issues in 1 day - including NO HOT WATER! After a long day out in the city we came back to no hot water. And the maintenance engineer had such an attitude - like we were delusional. Then after specifically calling to… Read more

After a long day out in the city we came back to no hot water. And the maintenance engineer had such an attitude - like we were delusional. Then after specifically calling to request housekeeping before leaving for the day - we get back to our room 12 hours later that has NOT been cleaned. And Randy politely said nothing could be done but he can send extra towels. Hotel is EXTREMELY basic. You better off elsewhere. Read less

My wife, daughter and I stayed here for five nights during a recent trip to NYC. It was great! First, the location was perfect. It’s just steps from the subway, Penn Station and Madison Square Garden. Once we figured out how to understand the routes of the subway, it opened up many more options. Additionally, it’s very close to Hudson Yards, about three blocks. Definitely check it out if you stay here. Check in was a breeze. Very polite and helpful staff. Our room on the 23rd floor was great. Amazing view! Very clean and bigger than I was expecting. Everything was new. My wife even made the comment “it has a new car smell”. There is a really cool rooftop bar you need to check out. Again, amazing views. We had drinks up there a few different times and loved it. Gio, the bartender was very helpful. At the time of our visit, it was cash only due to a software glitch. The hotel offers breakfast every morning. It’s typical hotel stuff. And busy!!! Nothing special but we appreciate that it was offered. We grabbed coffee and yogurt with some fruit. Again, nothing special but we were grateful for what was provided. Housekeeping service was fantastic. We chose not to have service a couple days, but when we did, they did a great job. We will definitely stay here again if our travels take us to NYC. Also, if you are flying in or out of La Guardia and staying at this hotel, it is very simple to ride the subway to the hotel. We took an Uber from the airport to the hotel when we arrived. It was $97. We took the subway to airport and it was $8.75 total. From the airport, follow the green signs to the bus area. It’s on the lowest level. You want the La Guardia Link bus. The bus ride will be roughly 10 minutes to the Roosevelt/61st Street Station. From here, you want the E train to World Trade Center. Get off at 34th Street/Penn Station. It’s about a 35-40 minute train ride. Read less
