The hotel

A veritable castle in the heart of the city, the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is an impeccable symbol of indulgence and pedigree. Offering the luxury and services of a world-class hotel, all guest rooms are beautifully furnished with every attention to detail observed. Facilities include a state-of-the-art health club, accessible 24-hours a day, with indoor heated swimming pool and saunas. Pilates and Yoga classes are available at the Sitka Studios or treat yourself to some well-deserved pampering at the Absolute Spa. There’s also some prime shopping in the lobby with designers stores selling plenty to tempt you! Although you’re close to plenty of restaurants and bars in the downtown area, the Fairmont’s very own Notch8 Restaurant & Bar is the ideal place to relax and watch the world pass by. Named after a train’s top speed, achieved only by the most skilled conductors, the restaurant pays homage to the hotel’s storied history and legacy as a luxury hotel along the Canadian Pacific railway. A traditional afternoon tea is also served here daily — for a special occasion, add a glass of champagne or, if the kids want to tag along, childish delights include Bubblegum Tea, fresh strawberries and cream and a giant chocolate chip cookie!

We stayed for 2 nights after an Alaska cruise. A lovely hotel well located in the downtown area of Vancouver. Very close to the shopping area of Robson & Granville Streets. The hotel lobby and room were lovely, very clean with a really comfortable bed and pillows. The gym as great and was a good set up with all the necessary items required. The… Read more

Stayed here for 4 days of holiday in Vancouver. The hotel and room was beautiful and very clean. Great bed and super soft towels. The location was ideal for reaching almost anything. While the service was very polite, I missed a bit of engagement or going the extra mile compared to the prize and standard of the hotel. The concierge made a half-hearted effort to help us with transportation to Abbortsford, and in the end Google was a bigger help. Housekeeping was very kind and helpful, though, especially while I was feeling unwell one of the days. We made use of luggage storage on the last day where the staff was also very nice and helpful. The staff at the hotel are excellent, very friendly and helpful. The rooms, restaurant and hotel in general are lovely. The pool and outdoor area by the pool desperately needs an overhaul. Overall our stay was nice but I had really been looking forward to some pool time and we did not feel like spending any time at all at this particular pool.

We stayed at the Faimont for four nights before joining a cruise. It is a large hotel in the centre of Vancouver and close to a Skytrain station. We had a large bedroom but an oddly small bathroom. There is no proper dining room, meals are served in the main bar area . Decor is elegant and some would say old fashioned. The ground floor has many… Read more
We stayed at the Faimont for four nights before joining a cruise. It is a large hotel in the centre of Vancouver and close to a Skytrain station. We had a large bedroom but an oddly small bathroom. There is no proper dining room, meals are served in the main bar area . Decor is elegant and some would say old fashioned. The ground floor has many shops such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Dior all of whom are happy to accept your money. Check out is a convenient midday. There was a helpful concierge, Debbie, and her dog, who sorted out a few queries for us. The cruise terminal is an easy downhill walk for 12 minutes even burdened by suitcases. We had a very satisfactory stay. It was all very impersonal and businesslike, even austere, but it was ideally suited to our needs. The location downtown was perfect. Read less

We stayed here for 6 nights, seven days. I came here with my family and the room we booked was awesome. There was a neat little sitting lounge and two comfortable beds. Room service was good, and they quickly came to help us. The parking situation was a bit of a mess when we visited, however. A lot of people were going on a cruise, or something,… Read more

Room service was good, and they quickly came to help us. The parking situation was a bit of a mess when we visited, however. A lot of people were going on a cruise, or something, so the valet service took a while, but the staff was nice and kind, and apologized for the wait. The location was amazing too, right near Robson Street, so a lot of shopping and many good restaurants were near as well. I will definitely be coming to this hotel if we come back to Vancouver.
