Flamingo

The hotel

This historic hotel was built by Vegas legend, Bugsy Siegel back in 1946 and it's seen countless celebrities walk through its doors in the last 60 years, as well as being the backdrop for the original Ocean's Eleven film and Viva Las Vegas. It has an amazing location right in the middle of The Strip and near the fantastic Caesars Forum Shops, with award-winning Flamingo Go Rooms. The hotel is great for kids with its amazing Beach Club Pool. The GO Pool offers a 21+ lively pool party experience with its amazing 15-acre tropical pool paradise, which has whirlpools and four different swimming pools nestled among the lush, green foliage. Then there's the Wildlife Habitat, where the resort's eponymous flamingos hang out with turtles, swans and ducks. There's a choice of seven restaurants including Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and Margaritaville Casino, featuring the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar. Margaritaville is as much a state of mind as it is a place. The multi-level Caribbean-themed entertainment venue offers two outdoor patios overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, a nautical-themed restaurant, four distinctive bars, live entertainment nightly (both indoors and outdoors) and a 3,000-sq ft retail store. You can also eat outside by the pool or even enjoy a spot of gambling in the pool casino located at the GO Pool! At the Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo, guests feel the energy of the Las Vegas strip while enjoying the laid-back vibe of the islands.

In lieu of a closet, their was a wardrobe with a 6 inch steel bar on which to hang clothes. How is that practical in anyway? The beds were well used. There was no armchair or loveseat, just 2 business-like chairs at a small round table. The shower was a huge disappointment! Obviously, there had been a fixed glass panel, and a a slider. They've removed the slider and replaced it with a cheap shower curtain. The shower head delivered a pathetic trickle. As others have noted, check in took 20+ minutes. They are strong-arming you to use their check-in kiosks, which are positioned right in front of desk clerks. I want to use the clerk, it's what she's getting paid for! If they insist on using automation as a front line, they need to position the machines elsewhere. Clearly they are using kiosks to do away with American jobs. I won't be returning to Flamingo. Was there for 5 nights on our honeymoon, didn’t once receive any housekeeping, no clean towels, had 1 roll of toilet paper for the 5 nights. No daybeds available at the pool that you didn’t have to pay for, cheapest was $300 for the day and you also had to spend a min of $150 on food and drinks whilst there. We had also booked a queen room which… Read more

Stayed March 30th through April 3rd. Travelled with wife and daughter (17). Was on the 5th floor with a small view of the spere, not a good view but didn't request one either. Room was clean, water pressure was good and hot. Bed was comfortable. Checkin was easy with the kiosk and was actually able to get additional room keys from the kiosk at a later time also. Saw Piff the Dragon, was entertaining. Only issue is that someone charged around $265 to our room from the pool bar/restaurant. We are still trying to get these removed as we never went there. Not sure what is needed to "charge" to a room but would think an ID of some sort. Not sure if you can block any charges coming to the room when you check in but will inquire next time. Was in a great location and enjoyed our stay overall. Read less

I will NOT be back and I will tell all of my friends NOT to stay here! Read less

We were offered an “upgrade” to the newly renovated rooms with refrigerators in them at check in, so we agreed to the extra $28(fantastic price) ….: This did not seem like an upgrade, the furniture was wrecked, the room was dirty and so dusty. One of the queen beds didn’t have a top sheet, so there was no barrier between the comforter(which I assume is not washed between guests) and the mattress cover. The hair dryer was broken, a replacement showed up >1 hour later(so i don’t had to for go drying our hair d/t dinner reservations at Bugsys in the hotel). The pool only had around 30 chairs that you didn’t have to rent, which was disappointing as well. I hate writing bad reviews, but I hope this helps someone in the future! Read less
