This one will be on the list of one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed. period! My husband I wanted to stay for our last weekend in Tel Aviv next to the beach before going back to the US. RECEPTIONIST SHOULD NOT BE IN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE BUSINESS As soon as we arrived to the hotel (that supposedly is in a category of 5 star) we met with no bell boy in sight. I headed to the reception and after an hour!! of waiting for my turn, the receptionist was so rude and told me that we need to take our suitcases ourselves upstairs. SEAVIEW ROOMS ARE A HUGE SCAM we paid 60 dollars extra per night for sea view and when we got to the hotel we realized that all rooms has sea view, but we got the furthest room from the sea. When I asked the receptionist about it, he said that they are fully booked and this is the only room available NO CLEANING nobody came to clean our room till 8pm the second day and we could not reach the reception by phone. we actually needed to go down and wait in the check in line to get someone to send to clean our room WIFI DOES NOT WORK the wifi in our room did not work at all, so we needed to go to the lobby every time we needed to contact our friends and family FLOOD IN BATHROOM. everytime we showered or used the bathroom there was a flood in our bathroom floor CONSTRUCTION IN OUR BALCONY there were constructions in our balcony, and there was a noise all day long NESPRESSO MACHINE WITHOUT CAPSULES we had a Nespresso machine in our room with unfitted capsules for that machine, and everytime we asked for capsules, they kept delivering us the wrong ones BREAKFAST the experience in breakfast was absolutely chaotic. workers did not keep any sanitary steps like using gloves, but they keep using their bare hands to mix salad or pick veggies. Needless to say we did not eat anything after we saw that. Read less

It is with deep regret that I have to write this damning report. 1) Masks are not properly worn by staff in dining room at breakfast and dinner. They are sometimes worn below the chin not covering nose and mouth or sometimes they are not worn at all. This is particularly worrisome when staff are handling food. This is in breach of government health guidelines. 2) When we came to the hotel one evening at 7 p.m. there was no security guard at the entrance to check that people entering the hotel had a "green pass" as is required by law. This meant that unvaccinated or infected people could enter the hotel and potentially spread infection. I was told by one of the reception clerks at front desk that the police only require a guard until 5:30 p.m. If this is true, it makes no sense and is a potential public health hazard. 3) We had booked for half board at the hotel which includes buffet breakfast and evening meal. The hotel phoned 3 hours before the evening meal yesterday to inform us that the buffet dinner was cancelled and that there would be an alternative meal later which is not we booked and they confirmed in writing. The hotel has the cheek to insist on taking total payment for the entire stay before entry to the room. However, when I demanded a refund for the cancellation of the dinner for which we had to pay in advance, they flatly refused to refund the money. The most they would offer as a refund was equivalent to about 20% of the cost of the dinner. This is equivalent to grand theft from the customer!! Surely if they take payment for a service and refuse to provide it, they should willingly and automatically agree to refund it. I had requested to speak to the general manager of the hotel who was not there. The hotel does not employ a deputy manager, night manager or duty manager as most hotels do.The guest relations manager had gone home. The reason for this crooked fiasco is because they had a group of 400 people who blocked the dining room. They came late which added to the problem.Surely a manager should have been there to supervise such a huge gathering. Eventually over 2 hours late after a lot of shouting at them by me, we had our meal. This should never have been allowed to happen. The owners of the hotel should be ashamed of themselves for allowing such a situation to develop by being so penny-pinching and not employing adequate staff. It spoilt a nice holiday and creates, wrongfully, a terrible impression of the Israeli hotel industry. 4) The booking confirmation stated a "total price". However, when they take payment they add on the VAT. Surely, total price should include VAT. This is very misleading to the customer. When I challenged this with the front desk clerk, neither he nor his supervisor had an explanation. 5) The hotel loyalty scheme is highly questionable. I recently enquired how many points I had accumulated from previous stays. It is impossible to find the information on their website. or information on how the scheme works. On investigation, I was told that the scheme is only for foreign tourists and Israeli citizens are not eligible. At no point in time was this ever mentioned on their website. No other international hotel loyalty scheme restricts eligibility on the basis of citizenship!! Is this legal? 6) Rooms are not properly maintained. My room had a light which permanently flashed if turned on. My daughter and son-in-law's room had a refrigerator which made a very loud noise if turned on. Management should check that rooms are fit for use before releasing them to customers. In summary, the lack of management, lack of consideration for keeping to the government health regulations and flagrant dishonesty make this a hotel to AVOID at all costs. The government ministries of health, tourism and consumer protection should do a thorough investigation of the issues raised. Read less
