AWFUL! Worst customer service. I requested more information on parking, they never replied. I tried to cancel my reservation before my stay, because parking was really important to me. They charged me despite my attempts to cancel under the claim that I was a No-show, completely gaslighting me. Read less

We stayed at The Kixby for 7nights in September 2023, as we were in NY for our wedding. Firstly the good points- the location is great, round the corner from Macy’s and the Empire State Building. Easy access to the subway and everywhere was easy to reach. The room was also nicely decorated and big enough for us and if we craned our necks we saw the ESB. Room was turned down daily and there were fresh bottles of water each day. They have a rooftop bar (but lots of hotels do now) The bad points: The blonde receptionist (maybe a manger) is RUDE! She constantly gave out dirty looks to us, and when I asked to borrow so scissors to cut something she refused to let me do this and I had to come back to the front desk to sort it there and rushed the job I was doing. I asked for help to get into my wedding dress to which she initially refused to send someone to help and then sent a colleague to the wrong floor despite ringing me to bluntly tell me there was someone at my door (which there wasn’t) As the face of the hotel this woman needs replacing, she regularly made us feel uncomfortable when passing through the reception or when we needed to ask questions. Now not that we expected anything in our room some sort of acknowledgment for our wedding would have been appreciated as lots of reviews on here state people got cards, chocolates, champagne to help them celebrate. We got rudely awoken on our last day by a member of staff shoving a box of chocolates at us telling us that we should have got these when we checked in! This is the second time I’ve written this review as my other one has been deleted. With so many hotels in NYC you have lots of options, so if it were me I’d use those rather than staying here again and paying a high resort fee for rudeness. Read less

They knew the area well and their knowledge improved our travel experience. This is an old building with narrow staircases, well worn marble stairs, and a turn of the century feel. Small tempermental elevator coaches. A penthouse with a rooftop bar was icing on the cake. Beautiful views of the Empire State Building, Macy's, and Herald Square. A hydration station on floor 2 was a very nice surprise. Close to the Garden. Great area restaurants, international feel with a nice mix of New Yorkers. We loved it. Read less

Definitely have to check out the roof bar its some view of the empire state building. Only thing I would recommend is an update on the tv preview hotels we have stayed at have Netflix/ Disney etc. But all in all had an amazing experience there and would definitely book again. Read less
