Close to the Subway and Herald Square (opposite Macy’s), it offers good, not overly big, rooms and a rooftop bar. The beds are very comfortable and the linen is changed every 2 days. Breakfast is simple and can be collected from the bar area and taken back to your room, if preferred, (about $22 per person). The only negative is that the air-conditioning, while effective, is very noisy and may disrupt a light sleeper. (Suggest that the Hotel look to upgrade). However, we found it a very good base for our 6 night stay and, being centrally located, allows you to explore NYC while never being too far away. Lastly, and very importantly, the staff are very friendly, efficient and helpful. We booked it as part of a British Airways joint flight/hotel deal. This proved to be VERY cost effective and should definitely be considered! Read less

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in New York and our stay at the Kixby hotel. It was a challenge navigating the city with our mom in a wheelchair (she doesn't travel much - and didn't even before her hip injury), it gives me a whole new appreciation for the struggles that those with disabilities face every day. All of the staff at the Kixby was very accommodating during our stay. The location is very conveniently located next to Herald square with subway access (including an elevator for handicap access) to get you anywhere you need to go in the city. Our room (802 family room) had a separate king bedroom with view of Macy's and the main room with 2 queen beds had a room of the Empire State building. The other room for mom (809) didn't have a view but did have 2 queen beds and a step-in shower with a fold-down seat for her. When we made our reservations, Zakiya went out of her way to ensure we got the room we needed for my handicapped mom. The rooftop area had amazing views of the Empire State building. I definitely recommend eating at the attached restaurant, Black Tap, which had great burgers and shakes! Read less

The beds were soo comfy and rooms were clean and the coffee/milks refilled regularly so no complaints there. The rooftop hotel bar was not open but you were allowed to bring your own drink and sit on top which I actually preferred. We ate at the black tap restaurant that is joined to the hotel and enjoyed the food there. It was a nice touch that the hotel gave mini bottle of shampoo, conditioner and body wash as we travelled with hand luggage so liquids were light and we found them useful. Enjoyed the stay and had no issues Read less

Visited here in July 2020 with 5 others (had 3 double bedrooms). The rooms were lovely and clean. Our hairdryer was broke but I asked reception if they could replace this and they replaced it very fast. There is also an iron and a bucket where you can fill with ice on floor 2 (room next to the gym). The WiFi works really good. The gym is TINY- only one treadmill out of two working. There was two peloton bikes which both worked. If other people go in this, it would be very crowded. The location is amazing- 10/15 min walk to Times Square, 2KM to Central Park which was perfect for runs, there’s a 24/7 McDonald’s and a Toast around the corner. There is a subway on the corner of the street which we used to get to Central Park and then down to Brooklyn area. The Empire State is just around the corner. The rooftop bar was closed so we brought our own food and drink to the top which was great. The view of the Empire State from the rooftop was lovely in the evening. The staff were friendly. The only annoying thing was the lifts! One lift was broken so you had to wait for one of the two. Sometimes this would take ages. You also have to put down a credit card for a $250 which gets held until you check out. Would recommend this hotel! Would stay again. Read less

Hotel shared a bar which was next door open to public and hotel guest which in a city that never sleeps closed at 10 so no romantic night cap. When we were there hotels own bar was open for private function so can't understand why it can't open for paying guest. Won't stay here again better hotels with better vacilites near by. Read less
