Lotte New York Palace

Midtown, New York

Virgin rating

The hotel

Railroad magnate Henry Villard's 19th-century mansions were combined with a sleek tower to create one of the city's best hotels. It's a place where the staff greet you as if they have known you all their lives, and nothing is too much trouble. The location is one of the best in Manhattan, right in the middle of Midtown, but hidden away in a gated courtyard. There's dining options suited to all at the Lotte New York Palace, from luxury brunch to baked goods, whatever you opt for you'll be in for a treat. Enjoy handmade cocktails in one of Manhattan's most popular bars, Trouble's Trust, or relax in 19th century-style surroundings in Rarities - either make for the perfect post-day-in-the-city tipples.

I have been a frequent guest at the Lotte New York Palace for more than 25 years now. My first time there was in the heydays of the Internet frenzy… circa 1999. There are many spectacular hotels in New York, and I actually know many of them, but there is one reason why we always return to the Lotte New York Palace… their (world-best) Concierge team. They are at the very top of their game… and know New York City like no one else. They are first movers — and are always aware of everything that is new, hot etc. When they work their magic — and they always do — incredible things happen. The most difficult and sought after tables/reservations in the City, tickets for sold-out events, and so on and so forth — they can get, virtually, anything you want. My family and I are forever grateful and indebted to them. Ani, Christian, Diego, Isabella, Julia, and Kal — you guys are simply the best. Thanks for everything. The Lotte New York Palace is our home in New York City — and you are the reason for that… ❤️❤️❤️ Read less

Hotel is tired. Room is a hodge podge of furniture. Bathroom is badly in need of updating. And i stayed in the Towers.Verpriced. Stayed there 35 years ago and I don't think they put a penny into it since then. However, Room Attendant Jenny B. did a lovely job of maintaining the suite.

The room had a large TV with clean carpet and large windows that let the light shine in during the day, but with electronic blackout curtains that kept it dark at night. Super clean. Bed: Super comfortable, with super clean, soft, white linens. Slept like babies. Bath: Large walk-in shower, plenty of luxury branded bath amenities including almost everything you would need, including a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a razor. Plenty of clean white bath towels. Amenities: As stated, LUXURY bath products, plus an umbrella, two soft white bathrobes, and two pairs of slippers. Free bottled water. Modern, electronic lighting and curtain controls. Lobby/Common Area: Beautiful architecture that is well-maintained and first-class in every way. We ate breakfast at the Villiard (make reservations, even for breakfast) in a beautiful space with nice service. Cleanliness: This is our number one requirement in a hotel stay. Very clean. No need to worry here. Location: Directly across the street from Saint Patrick's Cathedral and Rockefeller Center. Short walk to Bradway. In the center of NY culture! People: Exceptional - thank you to Francesca (reservations), Michael (check-in), and Rebecca (Towers - guest services). All lovely people in the right business - hospitality! You will feel like royalty! Please see the many pictures we are posting to support the A++++ review! Read less

I stayed in a room overlooking beautiful St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Coffee bar near the lobby was perfect for starting our morning. Only bagels and one other vegan option, but the vegan poppyseed muffin was very good. Elevators were always fast and readily available. The original areas of the hotel were rich in history. Beautiful! The hotel is conveniently located and an east walk to Central Park, Fifth Avenue and Broadway shows! Checkout was made easy via my phone. I would most certainly stay at The New York Palace again. Read less
