Lotte New York Palace

Midtown, New York

The hotel

Railroad magnate Henry Villard's 19th-century mansions were combined with a sleek tower to create one of the city's best hotels. It's a place where the staff greet you as if they have known you all their lives, and nothing is too much trouble. The location is one of the best in Manhattan, right in the middle of Midtown, but hidden away in a gated courtyard. There's dining options suited to all at the Lotte New York Palace, from luxury brunch to baked goods, whatever you opt for you'll be in for a treat. Enjoy handmade cocktails in one of Manhattan's most popular bars, Trouble's Trust, or relax in 19th century-style surroundings in Rarities - either make for the perfect post-day-in-the-city tipples.

I called and asked if a rose can be left in my wife's room for her arrival this afternoon, I spoke with Ani, she was so pleasant and not only offered to facilitate this with procurement from a local florist, she even went and got the flower herself (Over and above!) and called me to say that the flower is in the room for her check in in the Beautiful Tower section of the hotel. I have stayed here at this beautiful hotel with my wife in the past and certainly will be back. Thank you Ani so very much for what you did for me, Top shelf!. John W. Huhn Read less

We, and a large number of our family and friends spent the weekend at the Lotte Palace in celebration of our daughters wedding. When my daughter and her new husband, chose the Palace for the venue, I was quite excited as I had had a number of excellent visits over the last several years but had never attended an event there. Suffice it to say, I do not believe there is a more beautiful, or well-run location in all of the New York area to hold a top-shelf wedding. Our guest’s experience, from their rooms, to the service personnel who are simply exceptional, to the wedding itself and the many excellent recommendations the hotel made was Incredibly memorable. Adam, the person who was directly coordinating event was beyond helpful. So was everyone else, including the spectacular bellmen, the maids, and everyone else with whom we came into contact. The wonderful thing was that as elegant as everything was, it was not the least bit pretentious, snooty, or uncomfortable even for our guest to do not generally frequent places as exceptional as this hotel is. I have had a good fortune of traveling to all seven continents, stayed at some of the finest places on earth, and could not have been happier with this weekend’s experience. Highly, highly recommended. Read less

We had a lovely stay from the 1st to the 6th of January with our 17 year old daughter. The staff were lovely, very professional, helpful and friendly. I travelled with my 17 year old son just before Christmas. The location of the hotel is great and our room was big for New York standards although a basic 5 star standard wise in my view and as others have noted the bath ‘ shower is very old fashioned. We had excellent views from the room and whilst disappointed that the main courtyard was shut and no tree up the front of the hotel and reception / staircase were well decorated. We were lucky with the lift situation and had no issues that others have mentioned. The staff were all helpful, although I had mentioned prior to arrival that the trip was for my sons 18th birthday and there was no reference made at all. The reason I have not given 5 stars is due to the lack of options re drinks / dining in the hotel itself. In the main this did not pose a problem apart from first thing on a morning and later at night. This was ok until our final night when I was charged 23 dollars for a tea and coffee in take away cups for in our room which I thought was ridiculous. Alcohol maybe yes but not tea and coffee had I known in advance we would not have bothered. That aside we would stay in the hotel again and hopefully post COVID more options would be available including tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom room itself. Read less
