The hotel

Mixing an intimate feel with a super-central spot in upmarket Coconut Grove, and the uber-cool styling you’d expect from a Miami hotel, The Mayfair has it all. In fact you don’t even need to venture out — the Miami scene comes to you, with the hotel’s Above Mayfair rooftop pool lounge featuring weekly ‘Sunset of Miami’ pool parties, Friday night happy hours, resident DJs, a curved Gaudi-esque seating wall complete with fireplace, a casual food menu, and custom cocktails. The rooftop is the hub of the action by day too, with its heated swimming pool and views over Miami and Biscayne Bay. Downstairs holds its own treasures though, with the Spartico trattoria’s authentic Italian dishes cooked up in an authentic Ambrogi oven, and the Jurlique Spa’s organic products.

Where is it

In the heart of upscale Coconut Grove, a district famous for its al fresco café culture, high-energy nightlife and shopping, it’s just moments from CocoWalk’s dining and entertainment, and 10-minute walk from Biscayne Bay, home to white sands, seafood and sailing. The hotel’s 15 minutes from downtown Miami and 20 minutes from South Beach. Driving time from Miami International Airport: 30 minutes.

If I could describe the Mayfair in 3 words it would be: Peaceful, Luxurious & Hospitable. Staying in the heart of Coconut Grove was nothing short of excellent. The staff is incredibly attentive and you’ll feel like you’re staying in a Miami paradise.

We arrived at 8:45pm to check-in to the hotel and were told they cancelled our reservation a week ago. We received no such notification. They refused to say why the reservation was cancelled and they were neither apologetic nor helpful in finding us a place to stay. We were told they were fully booked. We arrived at 8:45pm to check-in to the hotel and were told they cancelled our reservation a week ago. We received no such notification. They refused to say why the reservation was cancelled and they were neither apologetic nor helpful in finding us a place to stay. We were told they were fully booked. The only explanation I can this of is that someone paid more for the same room, so they cancelled our reservation and took the higher price. We worked with our hotel booking site, Ulifestyle Collection, but they were no help either. We eventually found a room at a local Hilton. Travel at your own risk to Mayfair House Hotel! Read less

Our time at the Mayfair was great! We were there for our best friend’s wedding. From check-in to checkout, the staff showed great hospitality. Jason W was present throughout majority of our stay and was always helpful whether it was in regards to the hotel stay and accommodations or recommendations around the area! We had a very pleasant stay here and enjoyed Miami. Our room was spacious and well-equipped with a large balcony. The staff were very courteous. A special mention to Jason who went beyond the call of duty to assist my wife who is visually impaired.

Our family would like to especially thank Jason W for all of his assistance! He definitely made a positive impact on our trip. From when we arrived, he greeted us with a smile, and offered assistance with our luggage. Mind you, we were a party of 4 adults and 2 small children.
