The hotel

The Mondrian South Beach is a curved piece of Modernist architecture with an interior designed by controversial Marcel Wanders. I am currently staying at the Mondrian today, May 10th 2024. I arrived from DC around 1pm today.....I checked in but was informed that my room wasn't ready so of course as usual I went to the pool. Upon entering the pool we were told that the pool closes at 3pm for a special event by the owner. I was baffled because for one, this wasn't mentioned… Read more
I am currently staying at the Mondrian today, May 10th 2024. I arrived from DC around 1pm today.....I checked in but was informed that my room wasn't ready so of course as usual I went to the pool. Upon entering the pool we were told that the pool closes at 3pm for a special event by the owner. I was baffled because for one, this wasn't mentioned when I was booking nor was it mentioned during check in. So of course, I go back to the desk and the person informed me that they just found out today as well. He refunded my resort fee and gave me a coupon for a free beer, wine or tea at the bar. However, this was such a big inconvenience because for one, I come here 2/3 times a year specifically for their pool vibes and for two, it's my birthday weekend. So of course I immediately go online to look for other accommodations but it's Miami so last minute prices are outrageous. Needless to say, I'm still here looking out of my pool/bay view window and it's about fifty 13 year olds and their parents having a blast. So you mean to tell me that this multi million dollar corporation couldn't have rented another entire pool. They specifically decided to say "F" the paid guest....these children take precedence. Not to mention the pool closes at 7 for the paying adult guest but It's literally 7:58 pm and these juveniles are still splashing away in the pool. This is absurd. I'll take my business elsewhere going forward....not that they care but I just don't get it. People travel across the world to come to Miami and choose the Mondrian but the owner clearly could care less. Read less

Me and my husband checked in at 3pm, not realizing check in was at 4pm, so they gave us the option to check our bags in and wait by the pool which we did. At 4pm my husband went back to see if room was ready which they were, but our 3 checked bags and my husbands tux could not be found. Me and my husband checked in at 3pm, not realizing check in was at 4pm, so they gave us the option to check our bags in and wait by the pool which we did. At 4pm my husband went back to see if room was ready which they were, but our 3 checked bags and my husbands tux could not be found. We were there for a wedding that was being held at that hotel which started at 6pm. Our bags were finally found at 5:50pm. Worst experience ever. With only 1-2 people handling bags how to you lose or miss place luggage? We received no apologies from management and I only had time to speak on this upon check out. Staff need to be more attentive and helpful. The room was pretty outdated. Pool experience was ok which there was more shade under cabanas. Location is great but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone based on my experience. Read less

Carlos took care of us the entire race weekend at the Mondrian pool. Carlos was super hospitable and made things happen for us. Carlos made our weekend due to his professionalism and kindness. I highly recommend Carlos to be recognized through employer.

Bright is a nice guy, he was smiling and very helping. The pool is so nice too with the view. I loved the food that he recommanded me: fried tempura shrimps 🍤

I came to celebrate a friends birthday and had a great time with an espresso martini made by Natalie!! What a great view !! would definitely come back again, made my experience in Miami the best!! I also enjoyed the branzino and enjoyed a margarita :)
