We came for a family vacation and booked Two rooms. Winter and Randel were fabulous and friendly. Gave us recommendations and help us with the rooms. I can’t say enough of the friendly staff. The rooms are dated but the staff made it worth. The lady at pjs was also nice and always greeted us with a nice smile. I will return for our next trip.

My wife and I are fortunate to travel frequently. We have rarely encountered a hotel whose physical plant and staff acquitted themselves as well as the Royal Sonesta in NOLA. Specifically, April, Daymond, and Malcolm are keepers. I look forward to many stays at the Sonesta in the future.

In addition to be centrally located on Bourbon Street, the staff was superb. Wintur down at the front desk was the main point of contact for getting us into our room, but the ENTIRE staff — from the manager to the bell man — were the friendliest and most professional I’ve ever seen. Hell, they even gave us restaurant recommendations and shared with us some of the events that will take place in the following months given our close proximity to NOLA. All in all, this was a great trip and would recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a fun time, a great location, beautiful amenities and a great staff! Read less

This is my third time visiting New Orleans and my first time staying at the Royal Sonesta. I would 100% NOT recommend this hotel. The location is good if you want a busy stay on Bourbon street, but that is the least of my worries. 1.) I paid for a room with a balcony and bourbon street view roughly $300.00 a night - (see pictures for what I received) the balcony was so narrow it was as if I was apart of a circus act walking a tight rope. I was contacted via text message in regards to how my stay was going so far. I responded politely but honestly and I expressed my concerns about the disappointment of the balcony. A woman by the name of Denise responded via phone call and asked me to come downstairs to speak with her. Upon going downstairs I did feel like I did something wrong by speaking up and being honest. We did receive a new room with an appropriate sized and normal standards for a New Orleans balcony. Myself and my guest went to the front desk and asked for Denise 2.)where a woman said “she’s over there “ and swooshed her hand as if I was bothering her . Denise also gave us a room credit ( check for update upon check out to verify if I actually received it) 3.) in doing so she stated “ Hmmm … what do I want to give you” which made me feel more uncomfortable for speaking up and as if I was at her mercy. I was then greeted by another woman who told me to speak with the Director Randall when he came in to share my experience. I returned the following day when Randall was available and was told he was slightly busy but the Co-Director ( another woman who said she was under Randall) came out , sat down and listened to my story. I wanted to inform her that our new room seemed to have an air conditioning or refrigerator leaking because the carpet is soaking wet all over. This was not to add to complaints but to make someone aware as to my knowledge water damage can be a very serious thing. The woman was nice , listened to myself and my guest , she sent maintenance upstairs to fix the leak, which is our air conditioner and a large fan was placed to dry up the water soaked carpet. The woman said she would take a look at my bill ( I’m assuming to try and compensate for the experience) and call me to update me on what she can do and to also follow up due to the wet floor. I had no intention on sharing my experience to gain credits or financial gain but in hopes this would help make the hotel a better experience for future visitors. I NEVER received a phone call back from the woman who was in charge under Randall. Maintenance came back upstairs , knocked once and used their key to abruptly enter my room , where I was in a towel as I just stepped out of the shower! It was extremely awkward! The man was very nice but I don’t think that was appropriate. 4.) I called downstairs to see if room service was available which it is not right now . I tried calling the Desire Oyster Bar located in the Royal Sonesta and was connected to the front desk where a woman told me they weren’t taking calls or over the phone orders at the moment. I asked her if they would be shortly or indefinitely not for the evening. The woman said “ for the duration of your stay” I was confused and asked “how do you know how long I am staying because I am calling from my cell phone NOT from the hotel room phone” and she proceeded to hang up on me. The overall experience was a disaster and for the price I would not stay here again , I can over look pricing but I CANT overlook being mistreated especially when I come to an establishment to spend my hard earned money I work very hard to receive as a front line worker (Nurse in Emergency Room) during these precedent times. It is very sad because I LOVE this city and staying in the Quarter. My best advice is stay at Hotel Omni on Royal street! Excellent location and the staff is absolutely wonderful! Read less
