Great location, great staff!! The rooms size is what I expected to find in Time Square, not big, but the space did a great job utilizing every inch available in the room. The elevator system with the key pads on the outside of the doors and no buttons inside took a little bit to get used to but by the third attempt, I had it. The rooms were… Read more

The elevator system with the key pads on the outside of the doors and no buttons inside took a little bit to get used to but by the third attempt, I had it. The rooms were extremely clean and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job! The location was perfect, close to the subway station, a short walk to Central Park, and minutes from the Broadway Theaters. My only complaint is with the $35 Urban Destination charge. I didn't have a vehicle to park so the parking credit was worthless, same with the bike rental I would never use, and as a Hilton Diamond member, I already receive the premium wifi access and have a food and beverage credit available. Otherwise, I had a great time staying here and would do so again the next time I am in the Times Square area. Read less

We visited the Tempo by Hilton NY Times Square to celebrate our daughter’s birthday last week. We arrived at the hotel three hours before the 4 p.m. check-in and were told that if we wanted to check-in early, we would be charged a $75 early entrance fee. That is correct, $75 for a room that is already vacant, empty and no one is using it. Now, having visited NYC my entire life, staying at many hotels in Times Square, Central Park, and the Financial District, this was a first for us. I mentioned that I was a Hilton’s Gold member and they said there is nothing they could do. We had reservations that same day at Highball at 4:45 p.m. with a Broadway show that evening so we needed to freshen up, especially waking up at 5 a.m. for our flight. You would think Hilton would be accommodating but unfortunately, they were discourteous and not polite. Upon check-out, I asked management if there was any way that the $75 fee could be waived for arriving to the hotel early and again, Hilton said there is no one here that can remove the early entrance fee. Wow! That truly left a bad taste in our mouths and the reason why I had to leave this review. We spent a lot of money at the hotel and Hilton was unwilling to remove the $75 fee. Please be aware of this. We felt like we were just another number coming in the door to visit and truly not valued as people or a family that is coming to celebrate a birthday in NYC. Very sad. Fantastic hotel, great location, room was spotless and a good size for NYC…bathroom great with Bluetooth in the mirror to enable playing of New York Spotify playlist! Had live channels and Netflix. Gym looked great with 3 peloton…sadly we walked so far each day we were too tired to use it! Very comfy beds, great linen and towels.

My partner and I stayed here for 6 nights.. and I would like to share a few points that need attention. This was my first time in NYC and the hotel is in times square. Time square by large is awful. Full of people, full of people trying to make money off tourists and it is dirty. You can smell weed in areas. I didn't appreciate people being allowed to smoke outside the hotel, this needs addressing. We arrived to a receptionist who was just rude in his manner. We had travelled a long way, we were exhausted. The first thing he said was, "what's your surname". No welcome to the hotel, etc. It was shocking. I hope you do feed this back to him. We also didn't know that a 600 dollar deposit was to be taken, he didn't mention the amount until we saw it displayed.. He was patronising when I asked him to explain why so much is being taken. He stated this, "let me explain this again to you".. wow. He stated that the amount is taken just in case we damage things!!! Well, let me explain now, as I couldn't then because I was shocked and tired, that my partner and I are professionals back home. We do not go away to cause problems like many do who are in NYC. The arrogance in this man was beyond! We took pictures of the room when we left just in case we were accused of anything. I urge the hotel to return the deposit ASAP. People save to cole away and being treated like children was a gross welcome. We avoided him the next time we had to speak to reception. The room was lovely, bed was comfy and the noise from Times Square was reduced. There was no water bottles upon arrival. So, guests pay 40 dollars per night and come to a room where even water bottle was at a further cost. How ridiculous! Also, the coffee tray was suboptimal. 3 coffee pods and a plastic cup... Even lower cost hotels will provide tea, cups, and refill each day. If you came to the UK, you would have all items in a 4 star. It was awful. We had to buy a bottle and refill. Another thing thing the front desk failed to explain. Do not kid yourself if you think the 10 dollar credit is a great thing, it is a scam to lure you in to spend more. 15 dollars for one bottle was a joke. We bought 3 outside for 6 dollars, the same bottle! You seriously need to provide water bottles in the room. How do people arriving at 3am react? Needless to say we didn't have a drink, or eat in the restaurant, despite being pushed to do so by the front desk. The house keeping was excellent and all credit to those who work so hard in that department. The gym was good. The guys that are by the lifts and welcoming guests outside are great. We especially want to highlight Yassin. What an amazing man. Up beat, positive and what a waste of talent not having him at the front desk!!! He was incredibly helpful, and we spoke with him each time we saw him. This guy has a want to create positively to the hotel, so why isn't he acknowledged and worked to book guests in??? You're missing a trick here and I urge the hotel to provide him a position to have more involvement at the front desk and more. We wish he had welcomed us on the first day. I hope you can email me to update me of his career developments. He is deserving of this. Also, a thank you to Nicole. The only one we actually liked. So lovely, beautiful smile and not one element of an ego. This hotel banks on people like me, some of your front desk need to remember that. Won't be coming back as we didn't like the location, the lack of a tea and coffee table.. what does it take to just provide small treats?! Nothing. Pls refund the deposit ASAP!!! Read less

Possibly overpriced but get what you pay for with the location. Great access to subway. Just about situated from the heart and chaos of the square. However would avoid if you are overwhelmed by Times Square as after a few nights the tourist cesspool can become annoying (I was slightly naive as a first time traveller to NYC). Check in and out was really easy. Maids were nice with new towels everyday. Overall excellent service by the team ordering me a cab to the airport when I was departing. Read less
