If you need an old fashioned and the perfect bar experience- go see Andrew. A great atmosphere in a fantastic hotel. Highly recommended. Bar food quick, plentiful and tasty..The Bar handled a storm surge of people with no issue. Love to go back to Austin

Well maintained old historical hotel, definitely request the new remodeled side, not the historical side. Breakfast restaurant was super nice, however no pool or regular hotel amenities.

We loved staying in such a historic building. We loved the quirks and the location! We also really loved it as a wedding venue! Amazing use of spaces with character and authentic charm!

The hotel generally smells like dust and mold. The rooms were small and outdated. They also like to shampoo their carpets at midnight and are generally unfriendly.

I enjoyed our short visit to The Driskill. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff accommodating, friendly and courteous. The hotel itself is beautiful, well kept and clean. The decor was inviting with plenty of places to sit and enjoy conversation and coffee from the cafe or the bar. Music was not so loud that we couldn't hear each other. Centrally located near bars and restaurants on 6th street and half mile away from a beautiful Catholic Church. My room was small but well appointed. Nespresso machine, small refrigerator, SOFT, fluffy towels and two robes. The bed was softer than my liking, but I slept well. There is some noise to be heard, but nothing to raise an issue. Housekeeping staff cleaned the rooms daily which was unexpected. I’ve read that there isn’t much of a view—there isn’t, but the hotel itself * IS * the scenery. I did have a few flickering light incidents --- I'm told that it was Samantha, one of the ghosts that reside there. :) Read less
