The Westin Peachtree Plaza

Atlanta, Georgia

Virgin rating

The hotel

A statement hotel, this glass column stretches far above neighbouring high rises to give unrivalled views over Atlanta through its floor-to-ceiling windows. To top it all off, literally, it’s capped with The Sun Dial, a three-tiered venue featuring a revolving restaurant, rotating cocktail lounge, and observatory floor with 360-degree views, all reached by an external glass elevator that scales the glazed cylinder in just 85 seconds. Far below, on the 11th floor, the indoor pool’s just as spectacular, with its curved glass roof folding away to let in the sun on hot Atlanta days. To celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2016, the Westin Peachtree Plaza was treated to a $70 million renovation, adding extras like BikeWESTIN cycles, and turning this statuesque pillar into one of downtown Atlanta’s most up-to-date pads.

Managers need to take a fresh look. I’m a regular Bonvoy user I expect Westin to be 4-5 stars.. Got here and no valet at night. Fine I’ll park. At the desk they say we don’t have a room for your reservation. Wanted a king with full sized pullout. No king. No pullout. Two queens. Nice lady. Room wasn’t vacuumed last night and after cleaning came today there’s still streamers n confetti on the floor. Shower fixture looks like 2002. Sore back after a night in what can’t really be a queen bed. (No mint on pillow…ok I get that) Parking today lot full. Mayhem in street cars waiting around the block. Elevator this am …only went UP not down. Had to ride to the top to go all the way down. This was on every floor. How does that software thing happen in 2022? Read less

Do not have your corporate event here. I am an Atlanta native and the Westin is an iconic part of our skyline, but my company hosted a large customer event here and we NEVER will again. Do not have your corporate event here. I am an Atlanta native and the Westin is an iconic part of our skyline, but my company hosted a large customer event here and we NEVER will again. Rooms were not available for majority of our event attendees at check-in time. Some waited for hours, only to get to their rooms and find there were no sheets, or no towels, etc and waited hours longer to receive the needed linens. Elevators are terrible. We were all waiting over 15 minutes for an elevator. I ended up taking the stairs so I wouldn’t be late to a meeting, but luckily I was only on the 15th floor. For folks on the 38th or 65th floor that’s a much less appealing option. Due to the unique round shape of the building, despite not being able to actually catch an elevator when you need one, you constantly here them going up and down because the guest rooms surround the elevator bank. Parking is $55 per day. If that wasn’t bad enough, when we arrived we were told the valet lot was full and we would have to park in a nearby public deck instead. Read less

This of recent, was the worst hotel I have experienced. The room had not been fully serviced when I checked in...the towels in the bathroom were dirty. I complained on 2 occasions and there was nothing done to fix the situation. Westin has fallen down a rabbit hole!

First off – I was very leery about staying here with my husband as when I read the reviews a lot of them were horrible. My husband got there on Friday July 29th and I got there on Saturday, July 30th. From some of the reviews I read, the sheets were dirty, the place was dirty, the bed pillows were horrible etc. The signage is not very good for finding different things. In the lobby area you have to take a certain elevator to get to certain floors and then you have to go to another elevator to take it to other floors. That was very confusing. We stayed in room 3601, which is right off the elevator. We did hear the elevator at time and heard some people talking but it wasn’t that noisy. The sheets were not the brightest white but I did not find them dirty. I did find longhair in our shower and the bathroom floor and neither of us have long hair. The shampoo, conditioner and body wash was up on the shower wall but fell down when my husband went to take a shower. Therefore he asked for new items as they were almost out and we only got the body wash. And the housekeeper took away our towel mat did not give us a new one. I thought the floor in the bathroom was dirty I could’ve been cleaner. There was only one garbage can and that was in the bathroom which I thought was odd. As for the pillows, bring your own pillows. The pillows where flat and very lumpy. Not very good for sleeping at all. Housekeeping came in on Sunday to clean our room. We finally found the pool on Monday and that is very confusing to get to because you cannot get to it from the regular elevators. Yeah take the regular elevator to nine and walk across the pathway to the escalator to go upstairs and then go through the gym and take another elevator up to the pool area. It was nice in there the water was warm but I didn’t go swimming. I did not eat at the Buffet or the breakfast because it is extremely expensive and not worth it. This was from other people that we knew that were on this trip too. We did use Uber to get to certain places and there’s a designated spot to pick up the Uber and Lyft but they always went to the very front of the hotel. Everything that I wanted to do while my husband was at his conference was in walking distance. I felt very safe in the park that I went to and I didn’t think the city was dirty at all. We went to the Coca-Cola museum, I went to the aquarium and Centennial Park. I felt safe. When we came back from dinner up on peach tree street, people were begging for money. You ignore them and they leave you alone. Read less
