The hotel

Boutiquey and on a street buzzing with the bluegrass sounds of music mecca The Station Inn, Thompson Nashville is the latest luxury hotel opening in The Gulch. When you’re not exploring the district’s treasures, you can be viewing them through your bedroom’s floor-to-ceiling windows as you tap into its free WiFi, through the gym’s wall of glass, or from the rooftop bar with a cocktail in hand. Proud of their Nashville address, the team have curated treats which give an authentic taste of the region: there are the local flavours in your room’s minibar; the Alabaman coffee in its Killebrew café (which also promises a pastry counter of naughty accompaniments); and the menu of L.A. Jackson, which taps into the best Southern breweries, with their drinks served alongside sharing plates, tasty snacks, and classic dishes.

We checked in at the worst possible time. I am sure the overnight skeleton crew wanted to be anyone but at work on Christmas. We checked around 1/1:30am technically 12/26/23. Slow check-in but not awful. The only thing that left me concerned (it was indeed an omen) was they seemed in no rush to park our car. They slid a valet ticket under our door at some point in the night. Brief one night stay. Room was nice enough. Restaurant service was slow but otherwise alright. Fast forward a few weeks and Enterprise tries to bill me for a parking ticket. I dispute, they say no, pay immediately. To avoid the hassle of dealing with hotel who will likely say "sorry, valet is contract service you can try talking to them", I pay the $25. Fast forward to April 2024 and I receive a "Final Notice" from Metropolitan Parking that I owe $113.95 for unpaid overnight parking 12/25/23 (interesting because I paid the hotel $54 for valet parking!) and failure to pay will result in collections. I dispute and provide a rental agreement showing I was not in possession of the vehicle at the time they said it entered their garage. They say "close enough" you clearly had this vehicle, the license matches. They request a valet parking receipt. While this is certainly on the Thompson's valet, they selected a unethical provider of services that represents their brand, so it is ultimately on them. For this reason alone and the still unresolved parking ticket from 4 months ago, I will never stay there again when I visit Nashville. Read less

Hotel was extremely clean. Our room had everything we needed and more. Staff was very attentive and kind with wonderful customer service. Rooftop bar was fun during the day but slam packed at night. Coffee shop in the hotel was very good. Overall, 10 out of 10.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Thompson Nashville for a few days and enjoyed every moment of it. The location is EVERYTHING!!!. The hotel is extremely walkable. You can walk to breakfast lunch or dinner and there is some shopping you can do as well in the area - all walkable. But before you venture on your quick walk, the restaurant in the hotel, Marsh House has some of the best food I've ever eaten. I had both lunch and breakfast onsite and ate everything on my plate. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Now lets get down to business with the sleeping room. 15/10. Yes 15 out of 10. The room was nice and had everything you want in a sleeping room. Nice bright light, a really comfortable bed, a desk and table you can work from with even better lighting. The shower has full size product so you can freely shower and lather up with the full size products in the bathroom. The shower pressure was everything - talk about getting a mini massage from the water. Love they give you rugs for the bathroom floor without having to ask. I loved every minute of my stay there. The Thompson Nashville gives you luxury stay without the luxury cost. Check out my TT for a mini tour of the room. #Tammi6818. Read less

We had a wonderful one night stay at the Thompson Hotel in Nashville. It was far enough away from all the noise but close enough to walk.
