522 rooms and suites. The Great House and Butler Villas are located on the hillside of St. Ann Mountains, perfect for a more private romantic setting. Guests can use the complimentary shuttle service to the Riviera Seaside and Ochi Beach Club which is located across the road and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and facilities.

We came for a wedding and my husband and I elected to reserve one of the most expensive rooms in Butler Villa on the Hillside. Our butlers were great although we rarely used them. But for the price paid, the room was incredibly outdated. The furnishings were gross and everything was damp - even our freshly unpacked clothes after we hung them in the closet. The toilet was barely functioning and BROKE during our stay, flooding the bathroom with water and spraying my husband with toilet water. Not clogged - a piece was actually broken. Our butlers went above and beyond to fix it and make it up to us with a romantic surprise when we returned to the room. Both were extremely sweet. As for the food, you could tell it was being stretched. Water added to cokes, incredibly small portions, etc. On the beach side, an entire section of the beach was cordoned off due to warped planks that had obviously been that way a way. Other members of our party observed roaches scurrying around. Theres also a huge problem with stray cats in all of the open air restaurant areas on the Hillside. There were always at least six or so staring up at us as we ate and running around the tables. We were told we could visit any of the Sandals in the vicinity, but when we actually tried to do we were told the others were “at capacity” and we could MAYBE go for dinner or visit another day. Luckily for us, the newlyweds switched over to Sandals Dunns River and invited us for dinner. There was one bus leaving from Sandals Ochi at 5 and returning at 9:15 pm. If you missed it, oh well. 8 people were left behind when we returned after dinner - and the driver took off at 9:10 pm. Sandals Dunns River was amazing, by the way. We were only there for dinner (see above) but the food was of such a better quality) as was everything else. But to be fair, Dunns is only about 8 months old and Ochi seems to be declining. Even the other couples on our bus were talking about how outdated Ochi was compared to Dunns River. If we’d known Dunns River existed, we would have stayed there and gone over to Ochi solely for the wedding. Speaking of which - Ochi does have an absolutely stunning chapel for weddings! Catching a taxi from the resort to venture out is a nonstarter. They contract with certain drivers and charge $40 roundtrip regardless of where you’re going. Before you arrive, you’re told you won’t need cash. Not true. While you’re not allowed to tip employees (which we absolutely SHOULD BE allowed to do without them losing them jobs) you CAN tip the butlers. There are also vendors on the resort who only accept cash (like if you want to buy wooden carvings or paintings on the beach). But guess what there’s not a single ATM on the resort. If you want cash, take a $40 can ride into town. Will not be staying here again. Read less

They seemed to be the most active spots for sure. Restaurants were great all around. Valentino's and Kimonos were our favorites. We were not aware until after we arrived that a storm had damaged the dock area in front of the resort pretty bad. That also was one of our favorite spots from our last visit. Hopefully they'll have repaired before our next visit. We also did the Catamaran to Dunn's Falls excursion and were surprised to see it included some snorkeling as well. Great experience! We also had a candle light dinner on the beach for our Anniversary. Food and service was great for that as well. Love being part of the Ochi family! Read less

This was my fifth stay at Sandals. My journey began in 1993. I've visited Montego Bay, Royal Bahamian, La Toc in St. Lucia, Royal Bahamian again (bridesmaid in a destination wedding), and finally Ochi. I state this only as foundation for this review. During my five stays, I’ve been blessed to stay in a butler suite the last three visits. Here’s the thing. My prior two butler suite stays were great, don’t get me wrong, but this third one was once in a lifetime. We will forever remember, cherish, and pray for Peta-Gaye Davis and Robert Poyser. On a scale of 1-10 they were 100. Their genuine thoughtfulness from day one until day eight was unmatched. After my two previous butler stays, I did not write a review concerning them, much less tear up when saying goodbye. These two are so exceptional their names are imprinted on your heart. Before leaving Ochi we booked our next stay at South Coast since it’s a destination neither one of us has been, but boy it was tempting to book Ochi to be spoiled by Peta-Gaye and Robert all over again in 2026. One day we will return to be blessed by their sunshine and joy. If you plan to visit Ochi in Jamaica, be sure to request this dynamic duo as your once in a lifetime butlers’. THANK YOU AGAIN YOU TWO FROM THE DEPTHS OF OUR HEARTS AND I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN! I WILL CONTINUE PRAYING FOR YOUR PRECIOUS FAMILIES-Christi Now for the rest of the story. My favorite activity included with your stay is Hobie Cat sailing. When signing up for a boat they ask can you sail? Not proficiently was my answer so they offered to take us. This was great since my partner Dewayne had never been on a Hobie Cat and I knew he could quickly learn by watching someone work their magic. Once on the water, Dewayne started trying to get my attention to look at something he’d noticed. I followed his eyes to discover our captain’s name was also Dewayne. To you this might not seem noteworthy, but it is RARE to find another spelling of the name Dewayne the same. Immediately our captain noticed our smiling and wanted in on the joke. Dewayne explained they shared the same name but it was spelled the same, too. Sandals Dewayne chimed back, “Brother from another mother”! We chuckled and formed an immediate bond. He taught my Dewayne how to sail and our cruise over the ocean made the day. We felt the pressures of our lives melt away and we were officially in paradise! But, not only do the water sports crew have one super star, but two in Capitan Kirk. The second time we went for a sail Kirk was assigned to us. Kirk exudes personality and took us on an extended ride that was super adventurous thanks to the high waves! The smiles on our faces they were priceless. On our last afternoon after our excursion, we rushed to get back for one more sail and Kirk was there for our final ride. He asked Dewayne if he felt he could sail the boat and he said yes. Kirk sat back and let Dewayne captain this sail. It was the perfect ending. Now when we go to South Coast and are asked can you sail, Dewayne will confidently reply, “yes”. Thank you Dewayne and Kirk! The most special “extra” during our stay was my surprise private candlelight birthday dinner under the stars on the beach. Included is a photo shoot that captured two of our favorite pictures on the trip. Dewayne ensured I had a four-course vegan meal to include a vegan birthday cake! Eating your favorite foods with the ocean crashing as the sunsets--heaven on earth. Only downside regarding this most spectacular evening, rock-hard chairs. Sandals please improve the quality of the chairs used for this special of occasion. In conclusion, the only thing we wish we had participated in that we didn’t until our last night was the speakeasy. Stayed in the great house luxury room. 4 nights 5 days. Started off from the airport on a 1 hr 30 min bus ride to the resort. The drivers were fun and made the ride seem shorter. The staff greet you upon arrival with a moist Towel and have an alcoholic beverage waiting on you while the check in process is completed. Our room was well appointed but a pretty standard sized hotel room. House keeping was in several times a day to keep the sand and dirt that come from being in a tropical place to a minimum. The food options are extensive and the wait staff is always friendly and helpful. A couple of the restaurants are kind of blah but the majority of the meals knocked it out of the park. There is always some kind of activity and entertainment available. The property is split into beach side and non but they make getting from side to side is an effortless with use of “the hop” an air conditioned shuttle service. We enjoyed all of the staff and support from the resort. 16/10 would recommend. Read less
