Sandals La Toc was, in a word, amazing! My wife and I had a perfect “alone time” vacation. We booked the Sunset Bluff Millionaire Butler Villa with Private pool Sanctuary for a week for our 16th Wedding anniversary. Our butlers, Garvey, Rodger and Sydney, were incredible. They anticipated our needs and wants and were always available to us. Upon check in we found we had gained 3 new friends. We had so much fun with them joking and laughing, but they were always professional and respectful of our privacy. The room was the most impressive hotel/resort room we’ve ever stayed in. Totally private outdoor area and the view was an unobstructed vista of the Caribbean Sea. We had a large living room area with the bar and sliders to the patio. The bedroom was simply spectacular. The 2 walls making the corner of the room facing the pool sanctuary, and the Caribbean beyond, opened up completely and just a step from the edge of the pool. Every morning we opened the curtains and the sliding wall sections and we were completely immersed in the beauty of St. Lucia. This was our 5th Sandals vacation and we liked it so much we are going back in 2 years to stay in the same room! The resort was paradise and the restaurants were wonderful with great service, food and drinks. We stayed at the Grand St. Lucian 5 years ago and we fell in love with St. Lucia. It is our favorite island in the Caribbean. 2000 foot mountains rising right out of the sea with lush tropical forests. However, it is the people of St. Lucia that make it truly special. Warm, friendly, and so very proud of their beautiful island! Bottom line, I’m not sure we’ll ever go to another Sandals other than La Toc in St. Lucia and stay in the wonderful Villa. A couple of helpful hints. Make arrangements for a Private car as the drive from the airport is almost an hour long on winding mountain roads. Do excursions so that you get to see just how beautiful the island is. We took a powerboat tour to the volcano and sulfur baths, which was wonderful with lots of great stops including authentic St. Lucian lunch and snorkeling. We also enjoyed horseback riding on the beach, which was a very special experience. The beach that they took us to was a cove that is on the Atlantic side and it was just incredibly beautiful and largely undeveloped. Finally, if you can afford a butler level room book it! The butlers are very helpful, attentive and they can really make your stay worry free and a lot of fun. If you have them don’t be afraid to use them, they are there to make your vacation the best possible experience ever! Read less

La Toc was the perfect spot for our honeymoon! We booked the honeymoon hideaway which was tucked away and more secluded. If you want a room with a view, this isn’t your room but we did have a pool and it was perfect for us. 10/10 recommend the butler service! Garvin, Trisha, and Dane were amazing, booked all our reservations, packed us a cooler for the pool, picked us up with a cocktail, and delivered fresh baked cookies whenever! The resort is on a cliff and hilly, the butler service drives you up and down the resort and that alone is worth it! There are three pools - one on the cliff, hidden quiet pool, and the main party pool. Three great options depending on your mood. If you are a beach person, I would recommend staying at The Grand St Lucian. The beach at La Toc was meh compared to the Grand but the water was still refreshing and beautiful! Most of the food at La Toc was really good - highly recommend Sushi, Hibachi, Pitons, and La Toc restaurants. Some items were hit or miss at the other spots but the four mentioned above crushed it! We got massages the first day and cannot recommend enough! The spa was so relaxing and our masseuses were spectacular. Recommend going your first full day in the morning to start your vacation off relaxed. I do wish the tables and bars had a hanging hook for your purse. Biggest feedback lol Moira in the jewelry store was a dream to work with, patient, and kind and helped us pick something to remember this trip for a lifetime. Maggie was our resort photographer and was such a ray of sunshine. She made us feel comfortable and got the shot every time! Travis works in the lobby and whenever we were waiting for a ride, he would ask if we needed anything. Such a sweetie! Read less

We spent a week at Sandals Regency La Toc in April 2024. Overall, it was a good stay in a beautiful setting, with friendly staff and good vibes. We definitely have some good and some less good aspects to share with prospective visitors. We have been back a few weeks, allowing time and perspective on the week we spent there. First, for the good. We stayed in a Honeymoon Sanctuary Walkout Club Level Junior Suite w/ Patio Tranquility Soaking Tub room on the ground level. It was spacious, clean and well appointed. We did not face directly to the beach, but were around the corner, facing toward the spa and away from the pool. The room was very quiet. We had virtually no noise during sleeping hours, which was great. Despite not facing the beach, we could still hear the waves, especially at night, so for us, it was the best of both worlds. The shower was large and had great water pressure. The room had a safe. It was a little on the small size, but it could accommodate a 13” laptop. The room was stocked with a nice assortment of water, soft drinks, beer, liquor and wine. The private patio was very nice and the soaking tub was a great touch. Across the board, the staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. We had great interactions with members of the Club Sandals onsite staff, the housekeeping staff, the waitstaff and more. In general, the staff throughout the resort was excellent. We had one or two not as friendly moments, but we chalked those up to someone having a bad moment or tough day. In addition, it you are a beer drinker or prefer mixed drinks, I’d say they had you covered, with a lot of good quality hard liquor to choose from. Finally, the grounds are gorgeous. From the moment you enter the property, it is immaculately kept up. The beach is super clean and the sand is soft and nice. There seemed to be plenty of beach chairs and pool chairs, assuming you got out there reasonably early (before 8:30 a.m.) to skate out you territory. Also, beach towels were plentiful The main pool was really nice, as was the pool at the top of the property, by the Italian restaurant. The swim up bars were well staffed and it was easy to get a drink at them. We had many very good meals at Regency La Toc. La Toc Restaurant (French), in particular, was very good. We ended up enjoying dinner there twice. Both meals were excellent. The breakfast buffet was really great and there was plenty of food. Even the omelet station was quick and efficient. We ate at Pitons for dinner the night of our arrival and it also was very nice. Lunch options were a bit more limted and, as person with some dietary restrictions, lunch was the only time I was challenged to find a workable option at the resort. Lastly, the reciprocity program with the other two Sandals resorts on the island was a really nice feature. We visited Sandals Grand St Lucian for a full day. We took a taxi there at 8 a.m., arriving at around 9 a.m. (the shuttle didn't start until 11:00 a.m.). The Grand is larger, with more restaurant options and better overall food options. In addition, the beach there is much calmer, since it is located in a bay vs. having a straight and constant surf at Regency La Toc. We had a great time there, swimming at the beach and several pools, playing pool in the billiards room and enjoying lunch at the outdoor beach restaurant. We then had dinner at the Bayside Restaurant, which was very good. We caught the 9:00 p.m. shuttle back, arriving at Regency La Toc around 10:00 p.m. Annoyances Before we arrived, we tried several different methods of locking in our dinner reservations, to no avail. This included emails, FB messages, phone calls and downloading the app (allows one reservation prior to arrival, though it didn’t state up front that you can only make one in advance). This was very aggravating and resulted in us eating very early on day 2 to get into the restaurant of choice for that night (La Toc) and missing out on our restaurant of choice for our day at The Grand (was fully booked when we arrived on day one and tried to make reservations). I think this is a huge miss on the part of Sandals and a source of unnecessary aggravation. They should have a better process. Sticking with the topic of food and drink, the only way to describe the wine program at Regency La Toc is underwhelming. The house wine (which came in Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Shiraz options, in terms of red wine), which is included and which they go to great pains to make sure you know comes from Robert Mondavi, was very poor. It was massively over-extracted and tasted pretty awful (all three reds). By day three, the only house wine I could drink was the sparkling wine, which was decent enough and in line with expectations for the inclusive offering. To be honest, I have purchased many $12-$16 bottles of wine that crushed the house reds for tastiness and quality. Compounding matters is the totally pedestrian paid wine list. They had The Prisoner and a whole lot of boring and/or awful options. And they weren’t very reasonable (which is somewhat understandable, since it all has to be shipped in). But, at least they could offer some interesting wines. It was a super boring wine menu with 90% boring choices, many of which you might find at your local grocery store or Walgreens. The website seemed to imply that Sandals had you covered when it came to non-motorized water sports. This seemed to be true for kayaks and paddle boards, but you couldn’t get snorkel gear unless you participated in a paid excursion. In addition, they didn’t have pool noodles nor would they provide a life jacket if you wanted to snorkel along the beach on your own. This was rather shabby, in our opinion. So, if you go here, bring your own snorkel gear if you want to snorkel on your own along the beach (which had a nice rocky area along the edge which had some decent snorkeling). Money is my final area of annoyance, in two ways. First, the property has no ATM. This doesn’t make much sense to me. We asked at the front desk if they could provide cash and bill it to the room. The answer was a qualified yes – you could do this, but the limit per room per stay was $100, which wouldn’t get you very far. Second, Sandals makes a huge point of the fact that your all-inclusive price includes tips. Sounds great. But, I am not sure that they told their staff this was the case, as we encountered many situations where it seemed a tip was expected. We were even told that the staff could get in trouble if they were caught accepting tips, so you had to sneak it to them on the sly. This made for many awkward moments, and frankly, put the guest in a bad situation. We were able to get tips to key staff, but,a agin, it should seem so hard or feel like you're breaking the rules. Summing It Up – Solid, but too many issues Overall, we had a really nice week. The resort, as mentioned, was beautiful. The food and our room were both solid. The staff was really good, on balance. But, the items listed under annoyances above ranged from minor hassles to major pains. And, when you add them up, they brought the overall experience down to a 4-Star rating for us. We really liked St Lucia, but I’d be shocked it we returned to Sandals. There are too many choices and it wasn’t so overwhelmingly great that we’d skip trying something else to stay there again.
