My experience at Sugar Beach in St Lucia was honestly disappointing. The staff were really not interested in helping if you weren’t a guest of the hotel. The price of everything, from sun loungers to food were extortionate. Sun loungers were $100 usd per bed and $8 usd for a cola. There were 7 of us and we wasn’t going to spend $700 usd on beds so opted to put our towels down on the sand. We were then told by security that we HAD to move as we were blocking the view of the guests. Bear in mind only 20% of the loungers were occupied. Also I thought all beaches in St.Lucia were public spaces? So how dare they tell us to move! It all put a damper on the experience. Very pompous resort. Avoid! Read less

We absolutely loved our stay at Sugar Beach, it was worth the hype. The service across the property was truly outstanding. The views and snorkeling were incredible. We stayed in a Sugar Mill room, which is the most basic room they offer and we loved it. We could walk to the restaurants, pool, and beach without ever having to take the shuttle that is offered for those staying in the villas high on the cliff. It had a large terrace private terrace in the front and back, with a plunge pool that was more like a hot tub on the back terrace. Definitely attend the manager's happy hour hosted on the pier, they served complimentary beverages and apps, plus the pier is a great place to watch the sunset. Also, don't skip the snorkeling on the property! We snorkeled 3 different places around the island and our favorite was the spot at Sugar Beach. Everything was rather expensive, but either I read so many reviews that I was prepared or they have taken feedback into account and reduced the prices some because the prices weren't as high as I expected. We did skip the buffet nights because the price seemed outrageous ($125 pp, not including drinks) and we made sure to pack all of the essentials, like sunscreen, so we didn't have to purchase anything from the hotel. We also purchased bottles of wine from a store to stock our room so we didn't have to purchase from the mini bar. Cocktails and beer at the beach/pool were reasonably priced. The food at all of the restaurants was very good, but one more casual option like Bonte would be nice. The casual spots are closed on the nights they do the buffets so your only choice is to pay for the buffet or go to one of the higher end restaurants which are inside and not down on the beach. We probably would have eaten at Bonte every night if we could. It's right on the water, they had live music every night and the food was delicious. The breakfast buffet was included with our stay and it had everything you could possibly want. Overall we loved our stay and if we go back to St Lucia we will be staying at Sugar Beach again. We had an incredible week-long stay at Sugar Beach for our honeymoon and can't wait to go back! The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing, it's the perfect place for a Caribbean getaway. The property feels like walking through a garden with art features, beautiful plants, and the relaxing sounds of nature. The resort offers a shuttle service to get you from place to place as the landscape is a bit hilly, but you can still walk around the property if you choose. We were greeted at the airport by a taxi service booked through the resort and were immediately given cool, scented towels to freshen up after our flight. From there, it was a comfortable and scenic drive to the resort- we used the same taxi service when we left later in the week. We had a 10/10 experience here- beautiful beaches, a very clean environment, gorgeous interior decoration and overall an amazing, friendly, and hospitable staff. We are so grateful we booked our honeymoon here! Our favorite parts: -The private beach. Simeon took amazing care of us on the beach! Enjoyed the drink service and jetty burgers in the afternoons -The service: We were so blown away by the quality of the service at Sugar Beach. Our butlers Nyamka and Marcellus were incredibly hospitable along with Tyran, they all helped keep our room, excursions, and dinner reservations organized and made our trip as smooth and enjoyable as possible -Charmaine, Ames and Kentus gave us exceptional service at the Bonte restaurant and bar- wonderful food, rum and atmosphere -Excursions: We loved the sunset cruise so much that we booked it twice, had an amazing hike at Superman Falls, and took advantage of the snorkeling on the beach (saw an octopus, eels, and lots of fish!) -Shopping: Samantha was very helpful in the beach boutique and we enjoyed choosing chocolates in the Cocoa Mill -The spa: We booked a massage and facial at the spa- amazing experience! Gorgeous, relaxed scenery in the middle of the trees. Read less

My husband and I spent a day at the Sugar Beach resort while staying in the Soufriere area. We had a lovely time on the beach which, as the name implies, is fine white sand with an easy gradual entry to the Caribbean Sea. The beach loungers have very comfortable cushions and tiki style umbrellas for shade. There are lots of water toys to play with and excellent snorkelling off the beach by the Petit Piton. We had a delightful lunch at the Bonte restaurant right on the beach! The setting of the resort between St. Lucia's iconic Pitons is breathtaking! We plan to spend a few nights at Sugar Beach when we next return to St. Lucia Read less
