This is one of the loveliest hotels we have ever stayed in...we stayed for 5 days and it was a relaxing, calm, beautiful resort. We were in a pool villa which was wonderful...it overlooked the forest and we were lucky enough to watch monkeys and other wildlife on our terrace....just magical. The staff were so polite from start to finish and couldnt have been more helpful. The atmosphere at the restaurant was very relaxing, staff very helpful and the evening entertainment/music very enjoyable and suited the general ambience perfectly. The food was lovely - always a range of choices and well presented. The grounds were very well maintained and groomed...almost not a leaf out of place! It was only a short ride into Ubud on the courtesy bus for an interesting couple of hours wander around and a good base for a trip around the island...all sorted out at the hotel. I really cant imagine how this could have been better...thank you to all the staff for such a wonderful start to our holiday. I would absolutely recommend this hotel for any visitors...a nice contrast to the beach resorts. Read less

Our accommodation was a pool villa which met ours needs, the villa itself was really nice but we had issues with the air conditioner and had engineers out 3 days out of a 4 day stay and one day they came out 3 times, the room was like a sauna at some points. They fixed it for a few hours then bingo. We were told at one point it was our fault as we turned it down to low! Not really what you expect from this standard of resort. My advice is get a villa with a pool as getting a sun-bed at the adult pool was very hot and miss unless you are early bird to stake your claim. Spa was wonderful and well worth a visiting. All in all a beautiful resort with some misgivings. Read less

The butler service (Mei) was very helpful and made booking activities so easy and straightforward. The restaurants have a pretty good selection of gluten free options (and other dietary requirements) and the staff are helpful and knowledgeable about these. The resort offers yoga classes (Merta's classes were particularly good) and other activities. The spa is also great, it's in a beautiful location by the river. The shuttle bus into Ubud is also very convenient. Overall it is a lovely place for a holiday and they went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Read less
