Adaaran Select Meedhupparu & Prestige Water Villas Maldives

We have just returned from a 12 night stay and what a fabulous time we had This was our 5th visit to The Maldives and have previously always stayed in Water Villas. We had a deluxe Beach Villa at Meedhupparu and didn't really know if we would like it, it exceeded our expectations. The island is so clean, a nice size to walk around easily, the sand is beautiful and the water is so clear. We snorkelled every day and went on the free Dolphin boat, my husband went on a Turtle spotting/swimming trip which he loved. We celebrated our 30th Anniversary and also my birthday while we were there and the staff made them extra special with their kindness and smiles. The food in all restaurants was excellent and we also had a private dining experience on the beach and took part in the Beach Barbecue, they were very special evenings all organised by the wonderful Kasala and Kamara, thank you. a special mention to Rumesh at the Sunset bar for his great cocktails. Our waiters were always happy and helpful and Murti (i think) deserves a mention. I do think that there could be some improvements which i feel would enhance our stay, we had a couple of days and evenings where it rained and we just went back to our room as sitting under cover in the bar is just unbearably hot,as there are no fans, i really feel they are needed. also, it would be good to have a snack bar near to the North Pier, similar to Caffee Maas as i didnt always want to use the large restaurant at lunchtime,and if it served good Barista style coffee even better. This resort has exceeded my expectations with my experience going beyond my imagination. The lovely staff are the most friendliest and most helpful people you will come across in the Maldives. The service is immaculate and the food has been one of the best quality and delicious cuisines I have tasted. The resort itself caters for everyone with the rooms being highly maintained and clean with all the essentials you require for your stay. The water activities and facilities are great and accommodate for everyone - the pools are beautiful (I recommend trying the swim up bar), restaurants and bars are beautifully designed and the staff are absolutely amazing and what they do and it is clear they have a passion in what they do. The staff in particular at Water Villa Restaurant & Lounge - Waiter Samooh was a delightful help who was very kind and patient; Chef Nuwan & Chef Thilanka delivered exquisite dishes with fresh produce, prepared be delivered at the highest quality. The food was one of the best I’ve ever had, which was complimented with a waterfront dining setting. I will definitely be recommending this resort to my family and friends, and I myself cannot wait to return to this amazing and perfect paradise! Read less

Fabulous week relaxing after a busy time touring Sri Lanka. Wonderful beaches and beautiful marine life. All very chilled. The food in all of the restaurants was superb, whichever meal of the day. All of the waiting staff were brilliant. The sunset bar was also a great way to end the day, made all the more special by Rumesh, Saranya, Hanaan and Kumara. This was our second visit to Meedhupparu and it was as wonderful as our first. From the moment we arrived, in this little bit of paradise, to the moment we left everything was perfect. Stepping off the seaplane to see the beauty of the ocean and the idyllic spot that is Meedhupparu, you fall in love. Every single member of staff are welcoming and accommodating and can’t do enough for you. The restaurants are fab and every meal delicious, there is a lot of choice and a huge variety in the main restaurant with everything fresh and delicious, all tastes are accommodated for and special requests are met with kindness. The Indian restaurant, Sufura, is truly wonderful, we could have eaten here everyday. Cafe Mass is open all day and great for a cocktail, snack or light meal and you can sit back, relax and enjoy the outside eating with views of the ocean. Thavaa is exceptionally good, you must book here as soon as you arrive to enjoy the a la carte menu with wonderful attentive service. We stayed in a beach villa for the first part of our holiday and it was perfect, the villas are rustic with a real Maldivian feel, nothing fancy or fake here. Our villa was perfectly situated right on the shoreline and we loved it. The villa is cleaned twice a day and mini bar, coffees, teas etc replenished, we loved the outside shower and the beds were large and very comfy. You can walk around the island easily in about 20 minutes and you will see a fabulous variety of fish and black tip reef sharks along the way. The snorkelling is very good with the best spots being off the North Jetty and taking the route along ‘the drop’ towards the Water Villas, the variety of fish is just amazing and I would absolutely recommend having an underwater camera. We had a go pro which was great. The Albino cocktail bar and the Sunset bar are right on the beach with a good variety of drinks to enjoy. The main bar is large with a pool table, table tennis and a space to relax and read while enjoying the extensive drinks menu and chatting with the friendly bar team. The is also a swim up bar in the pool (right by the main bar). There is a variety of entertainment in the evening from relaxed singers to crazy fire eaters !! We would definitely recommend taking a boat trip, we went to Turtle Point twice, it was fantastic, the staff were so knowledgable and made both trips unforgettable. We also did a fishing and cooking trip, which again was an unforgettable experience. We booked the Treehouse for my friend’s birthday which was very special and I can’t recommend highly enough, great food, service and truly memorable. Maybe don’t eat too much before you go because the portions were enormous !! The island is beautiful and kept clean and tidy by a hardworking team, who tidy, sweep and clear throughout the day, the beach is swept every morning and is spotless. While we were there the island was nearly at full capacity but at no point did it feel crowded. It was a truly relaxing holiday on the most beautiful island with a wonderful team who can’t do enough to ensure your stay is perfect. We must give special thanks to Manoj who made us feel very special, Percy and all the excellent bar staff for keeping us hydrated :) The team at Sufura; Chef Laxman for the best curries and Aproova for making us smile everyday :) Sumith, Asmita and all the team at Cafe Mass and Thavaa who work super hard.
