I report from our 15th visit to the Maldives. We have visited Jumeirah Olhahali for the third time already - it´s one out of 13th resorts in the Maldives we have visited. It´s not so very much to add after our last two surveys...... things are quite stabile on the island. Pros and cons are pretty much the same as in the past reviews. The breakfast is still one of the best we have seen so far in the Maldives, especially the A la Carte options have been constantly amazing in a high quality. After the breakfast buffet was really overwhelming during the past two visits it seems that it has been slightly but visibly reduced (cost cutting?)..... Macadamis now only on order from the kitchen, fruits seemed a little rare this time..... but overall it´s good. The food for dinner was constantly fine and among the best food in the Maldives (strongly recommend the marinated seabass in Kayto). As probably anywhere in the world and in any branch these days also Jumeirah is facing a significant employee turnover. There had been moments when we had seen that the team was not as well rehearsed as last time..... but in general we have been happy with the staff. We would return any time. Read less

I've experienced many hotels, but this one tops them all. Where do I even start? - The arrival was outstanding, featuring a private speed boat from the airport complete with hotel WiFi and refreshing drinks. - Greeted warmly, we experienced a swift and efficient check-in process. - The villa was unparalleled – spacious, with a vast pool, utmost privacy, stunning design, and a modern exterior that sets it apart from other resorts in the Maldives. - A huge shoutout to our island host, Bond. He was exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring our stay was flawless. He also shared insightful stories about the Maldives. A memorable highlight was the private cinema he arranged for us on our rooftop terrace under the stars which was an amazing experience. - The dining experience was the best I've encountered at any hotel, with a vast selection of dishes. The food was exceptionally good and beautifully presented. Opting for half board was more than satisfactory, given the generous breakfast and dinner servings suited to the warm climate. - We embarked on a snorkeling expedition, which was fantastic. However, the house reef, accessible directly from our villa, was even more spectacular. - There were times when we felt like we were the only guests at the hotel, enjoying private access to the beach and sea – it was probably the best beach experience I've had. - The cocktail nights were a highlight, offering exquisite drinks in a serene beach setting. - The restaurant manager went above and beyond by inviting us to dine at Kayto. He was incredibly welcoming and ensured that our dining experience was always excellent. The service on the restaurants was really friendly and attentive. - The checkout process and trip to the airport was also flawlessly executed with perfect timings and minimal waiting times at the airport which was much appreciated when you have a long flight back home. There are numerous other highlights I could mention if time permitted. Although my stay lasted for 9 nights, I felt I could have easily extended my visit. It's rare for me to contemplate a return trip to the same destination, but this time is an exception. The Jumeirah, with its breathtaking hotel and island, outstanding cuisine and chefs, and most importantly, the exceptional staff and our island host Bond, made our stay truly magical. Read less

The things we enjoyed - luxury and well maintained resort. We made 3 nights at beach villa and 2 nights at water villa. Requested beach villa number 4 and water villa 61. We really appreciated the fact they gave us the villas we wanted. Both were amazing - REALLY! I've never experience so spacious spaces. Typical arabish maybe :D.. Separete huge living room and a nice decorated bedroom but the best part was the bathroom - again super hude and airy. All the furniture and details feels very expensive and luxury - like the resort itself. We really like a lot the overall design of the villas. Even that they are not maldivian at all, it was more than perfect for our taste. Every villa has its own pool. As the pool is really a swimming pool , not like many resorts just a square jacuzzi. Most of the beach villas has a good privacy but the 04-06 has the most greenery with deep palms and trees. The villas on that side (sunrise) have a wider beach and wider lagoon. As I mention lagoon - it is perfectly blue. The lagoon is our top request when we choose an island. It was georgeous , crystal clear with shallow water , a decent soft sand without many corals. Other thing we enjoyed was that the island was withing 15 minutes walking overall. Beside that every villa has its own butler who is 24/7 online for you through whatsapp. Whenever you decide to go to the gym, spa or to eat at some of the 3 restaurants , they come and pick you with the golf car. It was nice during the peak of the heat on lunch and early evenings. The breakfast was very nice with a lot of variety. The other nice thing was their sandbank which is close enough (anyway not that close so you can walk or swim) . Very nice little island with a perfect scene for a picnic or just a photo memory. We are not much after snorkeling so I can't be too helpful for it but I think from the sunrise side where the water villas are situated , the reef is close enough and with a nice chance of seeing a a lof of fish. Things to improve - there was a forum member who once said about Jumeirah - an island without a soul.. and during our time we get it. There is literally nothing to do for example after dinner. 10 PM and the island is total shut down. I know the Maldives are not a party destination and hope never be but anyway there was not a single place where to drink some coctail and listen to a nice calm music. The only music was during dinner (between 8-9 pm) at the main restaurant. The live band was good by the way. Anyway I think the resort need more entartainment overall but mostly at night between 10-12 pm at leats. Another thing for this mention "without a soul" is that the staff doing their job good enough but nothing extra, I mean you don't feel that maldivian super kind, warm and friendly service where you can feel it at many other islands. We were half board and almost every night there was an extra things at the bill. We needed to mention them so they can apologize and removed it from the bill. As I mention the breakfast was good enough, I can't say the same for the rest of the food. Beside that every time we waited too long for our meals, it was just not that tasty and good, especially for the price range.. Other thing is the lack of standard umbrellas. I guess every guest there would have agreed . Thе current sunshades don't do any work other than design point of view. It was a nice and different experience which fit most of our boxes. Read less
