Paradise. From the time the seaplane landed to checkout day, everything was perfect. Food was delicious. Amenities were all top notch. They do an amazing job of being eco friendly. No plastic anywhere on the resort. The Sunset overwater villa was perfect. Spacious. Clean. The restaurants were all very good. We visited Thrquoise the most because of the variety. Bring your Amex as everything comes with a 10% service charge and a 16% GST. Now this is very important: DO NOT OVER PACK. Each couple gets a total of 50 KGs of luggage on the sea plane. Anything over 50KG combined will be $5 per KG. It cost me an extra $125. The reefs outside the overwater villas have tons of marine life. I saw fish of all kind. This place is for couples and families. Not a party place at all. The bar closed nightly at about 11:30 and was empty everything night. If you are traveling from America as I did, the 9 hour time difference is brutal. The resort is 4 years old so it’s pretty up to date. I want to give a special shout out to a few AMAZING people I met: first, Faith. Faith gave great customer service at Riveria Tapas and helped us close the bar down each night. So nice. Naamu in Turquoise was amazing too. Thoroughly enjoyed every interaction we had. Agus was patient and helpful as well. Kenneth at the front office did a great job of checking us in and explaining the resort. The WhatsApp communication was great. We requested buggies to pick us up and drop us off anywhere on the resort. Great gym with an amazing view. As a Platinum Elite guest, I was invited to a hour long cocktail reception the day I landed. Perfect after traveling for 26 hours. I highly recommend this resort. Read less

This is our first trip to the Maldives. As the first stop of our honeymoon, we were full of expectations. We were flown to the island by water and the staff were very welcoming and wanted to make us feel at home. Luckily, upon check-in, we were met by a very nice receptionist, Shana. She is very humble and patient, asking us what we like and helping us make restaurant reservations. In the four days we stayed, we saw the beautiful sunrise and sunset, experienced the comfortable spa, and went to participate in the dolphin cruise. Everything was so beautiful, and we were grateful to meet with Le Meridien Island. It is worth mentioning that in the course of our chat with Shana, it was mentioned that only two dolphins were seen and there were some regrets. To our surprise, Shana prepared a dolphin souvenir for us to make up for our regret, and the whole trip became more perfect when we saw it. Thanks to Shana, she seems to be an angel in a foreign country, bringing us happiness and touching. We left reluctantly, shaking hands with Shana and looking forward to seeing each other again, and also looking forward to visiting the beautiful island of Marriault. Read less

This resort has truly set a standard for our family that will be hard to beat by any other place in the future! The staff and food were fantastic, the natural beauty above and below the water was breathtaking, and the entire resort, beach, and landscape were impeccably maintained. It was an incredibly amazing and memorable stay, and we felt relaxed from the moment we arrived! Now, diving : ) into more detail... We spent 8 days over New Year at Le Meridien Maldives, and unfortunately, we were a bit unlucky with the weather, experiencing quite a bit of rain. However, this was obviously no one's fault and the only 'negative' aspect we have to report. The entire team was absolutely lovely, attentive, friendly, and fun! This was truly remarkable and undoubtedly contributed to the entire family loving the resort. We could mention the entire team, from cleaners and receptionists to chefs and management, but we must highlight Sam, the diving instructor, as exemplary. Not only did he give our 7-year-old daughter a super fun and attentive mermaid lesson in the hotel pool, which the whole family joined in on with mermaid fins, but he also gave her the confidence and trust to go on a guided snorkeling trip to the reef with him, something we had struggled to convince her to do! Sam, you're a star! Much has been said about the reef and how to access it. I won't repeat everything, but I'll share our highlights, which hopefully will be helpful to others. Accessing the reef was much easier and quicker than we anticipated based on some reviews. There's actually a small island accessible via a bridge between the main island and the reef. A short 5-minute walk there and entering the reef from the small beach makes for a maximum 5-minute swim to the reef. From there, we used the current and floated along the reef to the exit point on the mentioned pier with over-water villas. The journey from the reef's exit point to the pier takes a maximum of 15 minutes, depending on the tides. The reef itself is truly amazing! We saw up to 5 turtles every day, families of eagle rays, adolescent blacktip reef sharks, a manta ray, gigantic lobster and octopus once, and millions (!) of fish. While the corals might not be the most colorful and beautiful we've seen, the abundance of fish and turtles is breathtaking! We spent 3 to 5 hours snorkeling every day (the water is warm, and you'll never get cold, just hungry :)) and were amazed every second. We spoke to other, more experienced Maldives travelers, and they told us that easy access to such an amazing reef is quite unique. What else to mention? We had a sunset overwater villa with a pool, which was amazing. Clean, with a great ambiance and luxurious. Every morning, the first thing we did was jump into the sea and look for fish and other sea creatures around our villa. The food, both in range and quality, was exceptional and prepared with love and passion. Our kids loved the pizza for lunch from the original pizza oven. Our daughter attended the kids' club regularly and absolutely loved the activities and the staff there. We also went on a dolphin cruise and saw plenty of dolphins, and as a lucky surprise, six manta rays circling around the boat. Even the boat staff were amazed and took out their mobile phones to take photos. We highly recommend that trip! Read less

We had a family trip here. The experience was generally great. The on-water villa is nice. The island is quiet and can see the milky way by naked eyes. The food is nice but a bit expensive. There are a lot of free facilities to use, like for childcare and snorkeling.

It was our forth visit to Le Meridien Maldives and we are already planning to return in 2025. I have reviewed this hotel in 2022 and 2023, so will only share the main highlights. I will start with something that I have tried for the first time - yoga. I did some private classes with Tia and felt very well afterwards. I was a bit afraid that it might be painful for the first days given I didn’t do any stretching earlier, but actually all turned out very well. Tia is a great teacher / instructor and classes with her were great fun. The only area for improvement would be some proper place / room for yoga sessions in the middle of the day. Early in the morning or around sunset it is very nice to do sessions outside, but during the day it is too hot for that. As always, we have spent considerable amount of time at the restaurants. I love the breakfasts here, as the setting at the beach is so beautiful. Food is great and in reality I would say it is more a brunch than a breakfast and we loved it. Staff always took great care of us: Mauch, Aapa, Isha, Naanu as well as Ali. Special thanks to Chef Devin for making our favorite avocado toast happen when ripe fruits were available. Apart of the egg dishes, we got some great pancakes from Dilina and a daily Indian special from Rajesh and Suraj. Iced lattes from Sanal were as always a must-do every morning. I also appreciated that Zu Zu and his team reserved for us our favorite table on the last days of our stay – that was a very nice touch. I also enjoyed that various managers were passing by during breakfast (and often at other meals as well), among others we had some great time catching up with chef Asaf, we hope to do some fishing trip with him next year :) During one of the breakfast we jokingly told Choris that it would be nice if they would offer a Souffle master class (similar to Barista or Sushi Master Classes) and next day we were invited to the Pastry Kitchen and did Souffles with Chef Sanchit – it was an incredible experience and something that we will remember for years. A nice change compared to our stay last year was that it is now possible to enjoy dinners at Riviera as part of Half Board package. We had some very nice Spanish food there accompanied by great service provided by Madhuri and Rishab. The only complain from my wife was that it would be nice to have more vegetarian options to choose from. Tabemasu remained our favorite place for dinners. Choris and her team – Puspa, Isha, Ali, Sara took great care of us. Apart of our dinners at Tabemasu, Choris helped us with some of our special asks and I was very grateful for her help. Not to mention organizing us the Mandarin Souffle master class with Chef Sanchit :) Waves was great place for pre-dinner snack / ice cream or healthy drink – many thanks for Sanal, Ari and Neng for looking after us. As we were celebrating an anniversary during this stay, we tried one of the destination dining options – we had dinner at the beach in front of the Turquoise restaurant, which was a very memorable experience. We asked for Nikki to be our chef for this special night and she prepared a super delicious meal for us. Shiraz who made sure that everything was smoothly organized, made a great suggestion to start our dinner 30 minutes before opening of the restaurant and it was a great idea as we had additional half an hour to enjoy the views of the sunset while sitting at the beach. Some additional special mentions and thanks: - Sobe – the new Resort Manager, for approving / making our special requests happen - Raj and his team for taking great care of us at the SPA, I hope that next year we will be able to relax again with the Balinese massage done by Tashi - Angelika, Sandy and Torsa from the Kids Club for taking care of our little ones and all the time together (not to mention the surprise in our villa on our arrival) - Nafiu for helping us with room allocation – thanks to him now we have a new favorite villa for our stays - Ammu for help with all pre-arrival requests, requests during our stay and driving our little ones in buggy and singing songs with them :) - Jaya for catching up and nice discussions whenever we were around the front desk - Yossi our housekeeper for always being positive and doing amazing job keeping our villa in pristine condition - Maria – last but not least – for all the sweets for our little ones, nice conversations and for sending us Christmas wishes in December! We hope to stay in touch and see you next year. Read less
