Where is it

In the Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 30 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person). Enjoy complimentary access to the seaplane lounge, serving light drinks, snacks and offers complimentary WiFi before your transfer to the island.

Perfect for couples, Over Water Villas feature an overwater living area with daybed, seating area, sun beds and hammocks. They also have a full indoor bathroom with bath tub overlooking the lagoon and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Half Board option: includes breakfast at Amaany, dinner at all operating and available restaurants including Amaany, Onu, Lagoon Bar, Isoletta, Vakku - 3-courses per person from à la carte menu or buffet when available.

Full Board option: includes breakfast at Amaany. Lunch is included from the à la carte menu at Lagoon Bar and Isoletta. Dinner at all operating and available restaurants including Amaany, Onu, Lagoon Bar, Isoletta, Vakku - 3 courses per person from à la carte menu or buffet when available.

Beach Villas with Plunge Pool host an outdoor living area with day bed, full indoor bathroom and outdoor shower, ocean views and private beach access and an outdoor whirlpool. Sleeping maximum 2 adults, or 2 adults and 1 child.

Beach Pool Villas have an outdoor living area with day bed, separate reading and relaxation area, full indoor bathroom with direct pool access, outdoor shower and an ensuite washroom. Sleeping maximum 2 adults, or 2 adults and 1 child.

Overwater Pool Villas have an overwater living area with daybed, seating area and sun beds, separate reading and relaxation area, indoor and outdoor shower and full indoor bathroom overlooking the lagoon. Sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Beach Family Pool Villas features a separate children sleeping area and a daybed in the parents bedroom, sleeping maximum 2 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children.

Residences - One Bedroom and One Bedroom Deluxe Residences with separate indoor living room, lavish outdoor living area and private pool, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 2 children.

Having tried all of the restaurants, Vaku was our favourite. Lovely setting on the beach with brilliant service. We would see multiple sharks and sting rays daily and the house reefs are beautiful. There are plenty of fish of many varieties. There are so many hotel options in the Maldives and Vakkaru came highly recommended and we were so grateful Vakkaru was the one we ended up going to. We arrived at Island met by our "Butler" Santo.He took us to our Villas and pointed out all the restaurants and facilities. The Villa WOW!! I have been lucky to stay many beautiful places but here looks like they have taken all the best features of all these and combined them into a perfect combination. The balcony is a wonderful place to relax watching the rays and fish swim past and we were supplied snorkeling equipment so we could enter the water from our ladder into the water. Kids club staff have a genuine feel for the kids and our son loved it there.The water sports Jet skis etc were well maintained and easy accessible. The place is very environmentally friendly recycling and we never saw any plastic or litter there. Even the sign to put on your bed for sheet changes was wooden .We never felt a mosquito or sand fly the entire time there. We dined at Vakku Lagoon Bar [Angel looked after us there] Anguru the Teppanyaki restaurant and Chef Joseph food and show is world class one of the best I have enjoyed. Last night was a Bar-B-Que buffet sitting outside on beach with a singer who sounded like the original artist entertaining us. Then we had the Maldivian drum band and all the kids got up and danced with them . Then the highlight of the night the "Fire Dancer" who enthralled everyone with his performance. Now our Butler "Santo" if I was still in the industry, I would try to steal our house attendant Ahmed was incredible on our wedding anniversary he had a sign outside the door one on the bed in Rose petals and the big bath was filled with warm water bubbles on top with a big heart. You can have the best venue in the world [this is close] but staff make the difference. Iain GM and Patrick OM should be very proud of their staff as they have trained them well and they are so nice to all guests and make the atmosphere so friendly all the guests mingle and enjoy because of the staffs genuine care. Georgie our 8 year-old when he reluctantly left said "I give this place 10 million Stars" and I find it hard to disagree . I will send all my friends there to experience this wonderful venue.
