The hotel

Sat on a peninsula in the south-east of Mauritius is the Preskil Island Resort. With beach vibes and a cool, relaxed atmosphere, you're sure to feel right at home once you step through the front doors. With a luxurious spa, an infinity-edge pool, and dining on the beachfront, this is paradise at its best. Where is it

In the south east of Mauritius, on a peninsula between the historic village of Mahébourg and the Blue Bay Marine Park. Transfer time from Mauritius International airport: 15 minutes.

Hotel information

214 rooms and suites. All with private terrace or balcony, air-conditioning, TV, mini-bar*, tea and coffee-making facilities, safe, telephone, and hairdryer. Superior Rooms are 485 sq ft and are on the ground and first floors with views of the gardens and ocean, with 1 king-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults and 1 child.

All Inclusive option: includes daily breakfast and lunch at Rendez-Vous, and dinner at Rendez-Vous or Mosaic (reservations required), unlimited local spirits, wines, draught beers and soft drinks from 10:00am-11:30pm at the bar, and a selection of drinks in the in-room mini-bar (refilled once daily).

Premium All Inclusive option: includes daily breakfast and lunch at Rendez-Vous, and lunch and dinner at Rendez-Vous, Mosaic or 1810 (reservations required), a selection of premium spirits, wines, beers and soft drinks from 10:00am-11:30pm at the bar, and every item in the in-room mini-bar (refilled once daily), 1 complimentary lobster night (once per person, per stay), and complimentary 30-minute massage at the Banyan Spa (once per person, per stay).

Garden Family Rooms are 570 sq ft and are on the ground and first floors in the hotel's family area, with 2 separate rooms and 2 queen-size beds plus rollaway bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 3 children.

Deluxe Rooms are 545 sq ft and are on the ground and first floors with sea views, with 1 king-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults. or 2 adults and 1 teen/child/infant.

Deluxe Family Rooms are 625 sq ft and are on the ground and first floors with sea views, with 2 separate rooms and 2 queen-size beds plus rollaway bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 3 children.

Prestige Rooms are 485 sq ft and are on the ground floor with views of the sea, with 1 king-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 teen/child/infant.

Junior Suites are 890 sq ft and are located on the first floor with views of the ocean, with 1 king-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 teen/child/infant.

3 restaurants; Rendez-Vous (buffet, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus brunch on Sundays), 1810* (beachfront dining, open for lunch and dinner), Mosaïc (à la carte Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, open for dinner). Medley Bar. 1810 Beach Bar.

Infinity-edge swimming pool. Family corner with swimming pool. Banyan Spa* with hammam*, Jacuzzis and bath, and a hair and beauty salon. Gym. Water sports* including pedal boats, stand-up paddle boards, snorkelling, windsurfing and water-skiing. Kitesurfing and kite foiling lessons*. Football. Volleyball. Tennis and petanque courts. We had a great welcoming by the general manager Mr Teelwah, the Fnb manager Mr Mackline , the executive chef Vikash , mme Joanne the fo manager and team. It was my dad birthday and upon check in a cake and champagne was organized! The general manager, the Fnb manager , the fo manager , the leisure team with Coralie, Megane and Cloe and the Fnb team all sing a happy birthday for my dad who was really surprised and this was really an unforgettable experience! Thank you from all my heart. Then we were warmly guided by a lovely lady miss juliana to our room. Again we were amazed when entering our room it was such a lovely room and it was well decorated with a happy birthday dad deco on bed, thanks to Mr Rakesh Hsk manager and team, and to our great surprise there were a bottle of champagne and fruit platter also in room It was such an unforgettable welcoming! We were really welcomed by all the staff , the pool is so beautiful with an amazing atmosphere. There was a nice gentleman with a very positive vibe Mr Jean Denis who assists us by the pool thanks for your good jokes . We had dinner at Mosaic where a table was decorated and beautiful thanks you Mr Mackline and thanks to all the team mainly Bryan Mégane and team great service. the chef Vikash did an amazing dish for us himself, and it was really good thank you . It was a memorable day for us and thank you again for making my dad birthday very very special. Saturday was another event for my parents it was there 48th years of wedding anniversary. Again one memorable day that we will never forget we had a great family day starting from a lovely breakfast and then we went to chill by the bar at the pool side . It was a great atmosphere with the entertainment team doing aquagym and mr Jerry mixing some good music . thanks for all the bar team that assisted us , thanks to rajen, tipsou, and Jean Dennis for making so nice cocktails. We were definitely in a paradise, and for dinner we went to experience 1810 restaurants where we were warmly welcome by Mr Clive , Chef Denis , Mr Owen , miss Megane. Great hospitality and well look after ! We were greeted by the duty manager miss Sheenaz , Mr Mackline, chef Vikash and The dinner was organized by chef Dennis and team ! What can I say it’s a Must to try it ! it was so good and absolutely delicious food thank you team and we received a nice wedding anniversary birthday cake also ! Again thank you to all the team. The first time ever that we returned to the same hotel for second time in a row for family holidays and we are coming next year again if circumstances allow. Family of 5, very very good food, especially the indian/mauritian sauces and fish. Breakfast there is everything there really, i don't understand some of the few negative comments. If some people say stuff a bit too slow, well, yes, you might need to wait 5 - 10mins for a beer in a rush hour, but be a human please. Besides, are you in such a hurry??? If you have any open wishes, you just talk to the manager BALRAM who is allways there and he will do everything to fulfill them be assured! I asked him i was missing a curry one day, next day we had a huge extra curry done just for us (that was last year) !! The dimensions of the hotel are perfect, situated on a private island connected to a land, large garden super well kept, the hotel not too small, not too large, there is a beautiful Launge to hang around all day with cocktails and beers included anytime... Very very friendly kindergarten staff, you can leave you kids there while going to scubadive or wingfoil (within the hotels perimeter), so absolutely practical. Coral reef just 50m off the room, you can swim to an island 1km away in relatively shallow waters, no wishes unfulfilled.We had a small problem with airconditioning, however got our room changed (thanks Linda) and then there were no flaws at all and we are coming again.
