I write this whilst still on the beach at Zabeel Saray. The only things about this hotel which would class as 5* are: Hotel lobby Concierge WhatsApp Staff This hotel in general is not 5*, and not a 5* experience. Whilst the room is decent, and bathroom great, we have old creaky laminate flooring rather than tiles, which beggars belief. Our main gripe is that they sell day passes (A LOT of day passes). This means that you pay £600/pn for the privilege of using the hotel facilities, whilst outside guests pay roughly £40 for a day pass, which is fully redeemable via food & drink, meaning they get to use all the facilities you get to use for free (since you also have to pay for your drinks/food). They sell so many of these day passes that there is never ONE free spare sunlounger at the beach or around the pool. You have a constant stream of people with big back packs strolling in, desperate and arguing with staff to find them a sun bed. Not something you’d expect at a 5* resort. If you dare to relax on your holiday and have a lie-in, to wake up and find that there are no loungers available around the pool or on the beach, it’s tough luck. It’s a first come first serve basis, and you don’t have any priority over outside guests, even though you’ve paid £600/night, unless you complain, which again - you’re on holiday, you shouldn’t have to for basic amenities. Drink prices are extortionate. Around 25% more than any other 5* hotels in Dubai. You’re a captive audience on the edge of the palm. Zabeel team will reply stating that they have passed these comments onto management. Which will not change anything. You can see from previous reviews that this has been happening for years and nothing has changed. It WILL be the same when you come here. Would definitely not recommend. Read less

Stayed for 11 nights. Start with the positives, the children enjoyed the pool and the sunshine. Lifeguards at the pool are attentive and alert, which is not something I've often seen at hotels before. Negatives, upon check in you are asked for £1000 to cover both tourist tax (not a problem, had this many times before) but also £800 of it is to cover your potential spend. Never had to pay in advance for food and drinks previously, but as we were likely to owe this at the end we didn't mind as paying it up front as the end result is the same. Food is at best 4* quality, often mislabelled as the wrong meats or vegetarian options when containing meat. Glasses not replaced in rooms unless asked, likewise with towels. Upon checkout I made sure with the staff that we had cleared our account to which they agreed that we owed another £100 or so, which was then paid. Once arriving home the hotel have taken a further £1300 with no explanation. I've tried to explain that they have taken the payment twice but are uncooperative and unresponsive. Best avoided. We went to the Waldorf for a Princess Brunch. I'd highly recommend staying there over this and also their brunch experience. Read less

Simply the best hotel we have ever stayed in! Opulent, impeccable service and incredibly friendly staff that make you feel like you are the only guests in the hotel. The food is also just excellent. For breakfast I visited the “ healthy station” every day as it was perfect for me, fresh fruit prepared in front of you by a smiling happy staff member. There are ample high quality breakfast selections available for you to enjoy whilst seated looking out to the beautiful gardens. Lunch: We used the pool service and the quality was excellent, served to your sun bed in a sealed container with proper cutlery and napkins Dinner: Choose from one of about 5 high end dining experiences from Indian, Japanese, Arabic to name a few. All the serving staff are excellent and friendly. The pool: We had a raised double bed on the edge of the pool every day and it was fantastic! No struggling for beds whatsoever. Complimentary iced water all day & sun block also. The pool manager Michael was superb and attended to us every day by topping up our water, laying out our towels and making sure all was 5*. He was brilliant and really enhanced our experience. The room: Outstanding! Samud our room attendant and his colleague Karen were also 5*. Samud was there every day to make sure the room was perfect in every way. He also left us a beautiful towel display on our anniversary which was a lovely touch. He was always happy and extremely polite & friendly. In summary, we loved it ! Will be back as often as we can. A beautiful hotel. Read less

Had an amazing stay at this beautiful hotel for 9 days. Out of all the hotels I have been to in Dubai, it is definitely one of the most stunning and homely. Couldn't fault the interior and ambience. Despite travelling through the disruptive weather conditions, the check in process was very easy and quick. They were also happy to upgrade our room which was a plus. We also had an amazing room service cleaner Bahaa who always generously topped up our amenities knowing we were a large group. The guys around at breakfast were so helpful, and also made sure we received anything we needed regardless of how busy it was. Although it was such a beautiful hotel, there were a few cons: Firstly, the rooms are extremely dark and the little lighting that is provided hardly worked, there were always a few lights that would not turn on. We also encountered minor issues with the bathroom however they were fixed as soon as I reported them. Secondly, the service received from the outdoor staff was pretty disappointing as they were inconsistent with the service they delivered. For example, some days doors would be opened for us when leaving a taxi, and others we wouldn't be greeted in any way at all. In terms of food, it was pretty satisfactory and freshly prepared however, it became quite repetitive especially the breakfast buffet. Overall, we still enjoyed our stay here. Read less
