My husband, college son and I stayed for 3 nights during the marathon weekend. Loved the location: close to Cannery Row, beaches, airport, etc. But also quiet, private, and safe. We requested and was given a "pool view" room, which ended up on the 2nd floor. It did have a view of the pool, but would have enjoyed a 1st floor room with a walk out option. The room was 4 star worthy. Clean, quality furnishings/bedding, etc. The hotel has been around awhile, but has been nicely updated. Enjoyed the front lobby with towering fireplace along with fire pits on back patio area. There was no included breakfast. Besides the (pricey) restaurant, there was an Ala cart coffee shop breakfast option which included a variety of healthy snacks along with limited hot breakfast items. Enjoyed eating our coffee-shop breakfasts in the lobby. We did utilize the workout area which was nicely appointed, clean and offered a nice view of a grassy area while exercising. Staff were all pleasant and accommodating. Read less

Checkin was prompt and helpful with some key details provided without request. We had a suite which was well finished and roomy. Aside from way too many golfers wearing jogger pants the crowd was mixed between golfers, families, convention peopl and tourists as well as runner for Big Sur. Carl at breakfast was beyond great, super high energy, plote, helpful and very attentive. He pointed out the DIY juicer at the breakfast buffet. He even did magic tricks. Conversely the bar staff in the evening were attentive but lacked the super powers of carl. FYI the wine by the glass could use an unoaked Chardonnay. The gym well appointed with plenty of options to provide a different routine each of the 3 days we were there. The access to the sauna was an added plus, could not get steam room to steam though. Pool and hot tub were nice, clean and utilized. The grounds are expansive with good signage as to where everything is located. Building signage is nice regarding keeping sounds down during night hours. Regarding eco factor the shower has bulk products saving throwaway tiny travel sizes. Plenty of water bottle filling stations throughout the complex. Room had bathrobes and a nice touch was the lint mitt. I would say I prefer the Hyatt as opposed to a more downtown hotel in Monterey. Everything was an inexpensive Uber ride away especially if you want to hit wine tasting rooms. You can walk to Monterey for sure to hit restaurants, wine tasing or a brewery. Read less

I went to the Hyatt for a work conference. It is a beautiful property with a nice lobby, fireplace, bar, restaurant. There is a golfcourse as well and a walk down to the ocean. I will be going back for a personal trip. The wifi could have been better, but that's a first world problem. Nice place. Great staff.

Very friendly staff. Nice room, with water filler in the lobby. Pleasant cosmetics, no slippers, so bring a pair from home! Breakfast, luch, dinner - quite expensive. Wonderful surroundings, the golf course creates a very nice view. Not excessively far from Monterey.
