We had a fantastic stay at the Civilian Hotel. Conveniently located to the theatres and Times Square. Superb customer service from all staff that we encountered. Pristine surroundings and the room was perfect! We definitely will return to the Civilian Hotel for our next NYC trip.

Clean, quiet room. Very comfortable bed and good shower. My stay was brief but would return. The breakfast was also good value and very nice. Despite being in a busy tourist location, the room was very quiet, I would stay there again if back in NYC.

The hotel is excellent; from you enter the hotel, enter the lift, enter the room. Amazing staff, music, decor, interior, attention to detail…. I could go on and on. The staff made a personalized scavenger hunt for my daughter and the prize was spot on! Thank you!!! The rooms are small with no possibility to unpack or to store a large suitcase,… Read more

The staff made a personalized scavenger hunt for my daughter and the prize was spot on! Thank you!!! The rooms are small with no possibility to unpack or to store a large suitcase, but I would return any day any time and highly recommend everyone to chose this hotel. I have worked in 5 star properties around the world and was impressed. And I am not easy to impress… Book, book, book - don’t deny yourself this experience. Read less

Had a lovely 4 night Monday to Thursday stay at the end of March. Opted for a double/double spacious room, which although wasn't huge was more than adequate for our 4 night stay. Beds very comfortable (although I think size-wise they were more of a 3/4 compared to UK doubles, so we opted for 1 each as a little too small for 2 people) and the pillows even better (wish I could have smuggled them home in my suitcase :)) No wardrobe, just a rail but we made it work and wasn't an issue at all. Décor very nice throughout hotel. Location: 4 mins walk to Times Square and from there all other attractions. 25 minute walk to the Highline. Yellow cabs were really easy to get when out and about. Sombrero restaurant, a separate business joined on next door, served really nice Mexican food and had a great vibe, although we did find on this visit all food and drink prices, wherever we visited, were very high, e.g. $18 a glass of wine. The Starchild roof top bar is worth a visit, the lights and views once it is dark are stunning - not to mention the disco toilet! We visited each night of our stay before going out for the evening. There are plenty food and drink places/bars within close walking distance to the hotel. The Rum House is a great little place for cocktails and only 4 mins walk away. We only had breakfast once at the hotel, which was at $35pp and was very basic. There are some good diners which offer breakfasts at a much lower cost. Cosmic Diner is a 5 minute walk away and we had a good breakfast here. Starbucks is just around the corner if you are up early, it opens at 5am if you want to nip for a coffee first thing if the jet-lag/time difference is affecting you. Irish bars also offer substantial breakfasts too. We had room 2209, with a good view of the Hudson, and was really quiet. We only once heard some bass from what we thought was the roof top bar, and that was only a few minutes on the Thursday evening. Reception staff were all so friendly and helpful - thank you, we had a wonderful stay! Read less
