The hotel is secure, clean, easy to get in & out of, and generally quite pleasant. The location is great - it's a very short walk to a subway station that connects you to the rest of the city, and there are plenty of amenities around within walking distance, including many Broadway theaters. Our main events this visit were all within walking distance, which was amazing! The rooms were very comfortable and were a welcome place to return to after walking around the city all day. If I had a single request, it would be that the rooms get even a tiny table one can scoot the chairs over to and sit by the window at while drinking coffee in the morning or eating a slice of Vito's pizza on the way back in on a late night. The nightstands have little pull-out desks but they're not great for sitting across or next to someone to enjoy a cup of coffee. A single extra surface for this purpose would have been very welcome, but it was hardly a problem. The bedding is indeed very comfortable, possibly the most comfortable I've experienced. In lieu of a room phone, a "personal pineapple" Google Home/Amazon Echo style device is present that allows you to use a hotword to activate a digital assistant to ask for things or to speak with the front desk. I find these kinds of eagerly-listening "smart microphone" devices a little creepy to be in my room, but it was easily (and immediately) unplugged. The bathroom is quite nice. The shower doors could use a little bit of rubber or something along the bottom to help prevent egress of water during a shower - I often stepped out onto a squishy towel after a shower. This was overall a very positive experience! The branding is pretty cute. Maui, our coincidentally-pineapple travel squishmallow, strongly approved of the hotel's commitment to the pineapple theme. Lovely hotel in a great location, between 8th & 9th avenues. Short walk to Hells Kitchen and all the (expensive) bars and restaurants it offers. Also a short walk to Times Square/ESB etc. The only downside is the room sizes, they are really, really tiny - to the point where you can't get down one side of the bed as it's taken up by the heater/air con unit. There is nowhere in the rooms to put a full size suitcase, let alone two....the slot under the bed for them isn't deep enough. Really, I think these rooms should only be used by solo travellers and even then those with cabin bags only, it really was hard for 2 adults to stay in the room for 5 nights, there just isn't room. I appreciate that this is Manhattan and all rooms are small, but I don't think these would be able to be licensed as hotel rooms in the UK as they are so tiny Read less

This hotel is unique and situated in an area that is convenient to many places around New York. There is a plethora of restaurants. I love a fun theme and had heard raves from others who visited StayPineapple, so I gave them a try on my last NYC trip and became immediately hooked! The pros: -The cleanest room I've stayed at anywhere without smelling chemically -The friendliest staff -The boutique size means no crazy lobby crowds or elevator lines -In room refillable water bottle with water station in the lobby (also in room coffee maker but I'm not a coffee drinker) -The most comfortable bedding. I fall asleep instantly here and have become a convert to the European double-duvet system -pineapple cookies every afternoon and your choice of an additional snack/drink -an adorable plush pup, Dash, to keep you company (this hotel is also very dog friendly!) This is my #1 preferred hotel for NYC trips now and I can't wait to try their other locations across the US. My only pain point with this location (that may be different in other room categories), is the lack of a true workspace. As a remote worker who lugs around a full size laptop, the nightstand pull-out solution isn't comfortable or ergonomic when I need to get work done. I'd love a proper chair and slightly greater surface area even if that meant bedside tables had to be smaller on either side. As far as I know, the only communal space is the lobby which is lovely for relaxing, but not ideal for working. If you're only in the room for sleeping, this won't be an issue, but something to consider for fellow multitaskers. Read less

Small but comfy. Soft beds. A block away from the hustle and bustle. Close to theaters and Madison Square Garden. Convenient, efficient, little extras along the way. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely worth a try for a convenient location.
