Constance Moofushi

We wanted somewhere very special to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and we are so glad that we chose Constance Moofushi. It was our first visit to The Maldives and it exceeded all our expectations. From the wonderful welcome as we arrived on the island and throughout our stay the staff were amazing, constantly smiling and nothing too much trouble. Far too many to name individually but a special shout out to Manjoola, Yaheem and Binju and extra thanks to James for setting up and decorating our anniversary table on the beach and our room boy who decorated our bed. Although there are 2 restaurants we chose to eat in the buffet restaurant and the food choices were fantastic and absolutely delicious with different themed nights each evening. Of course the views were spectacular, the snorkelling amazing but it was the tranquility and laid back feeling that was so special. Thank you to each and every member of staff both in front and behind the scenes for making our time with you so unforgettable. It was certainly a little slice of paradise and we can’t wait to return. Our first time to The Maldives, and we went for this hotel after a great deal of research. We wanted something authentic, rustic, low key, but at the same time five star exceptional quality. Constance Moofushi delivered all of this and more, and totally exceeded all our expectations. We spent one week in a beach villa followed by one week in a water villa. The beach villa was spacious and airy, with an amazing outdoor shower and a lovely decked area just steps from the beach, complete with chairs, sun loungers and a hammock. The water villa was more compact but still plenty big enough, with a stunning view from the back deck and steps leading directly into the water. The food in the buffet restaurant was excellent, plenty of choice, and a different theme every night, in addition to the barbecue grill. The a la carte restaurant Alizee was outstanding. The beaches, the ocean, the marine life, the facilities, the food, the drinks, all contribute to a magical destination, but what really makes this hotel is the staff. Every single person, whether admin, management, bar, restaurant, maintenance, greeted us with a smile and a hello. Nothing was too much trouble, and we were made to feel very special and valued. Our 8th visit to the Maldives and 3rd to Constance Moofushi, and once again, it excelled in every aspect! If you're wondering whether to book this hotel, please don’t hesitate. You won’t regret it, and I’m sure, like us, they’ll have you returning time and time again! Your journey starts at Male airport, where a Constance representative meets you, kindly takes your bags, and escorts you to the seaplane check-in area. They handle the check-in process and baggage drop-off with the seaplane staff, so you don't have to lift a finger! This is such a nice touch after a long flight. The hotel representatives are so friendly and kind. They then take you to the Constance minivan, where it’s a 5-minute journey to the seaplane terminal and Constance lounge. Here they will inform you of your scheduled seaplane departure time, so you know how long you have in the lounge. They offer a great array of refreshments and snacks, provide cold towels upon arrival, and you can freshen up with a shower if you please. They will then inform you when your seaplane is ready, so you don't have to worry about constantly checking the time. The seaplane experience is a MUST when in the Maldives. Moofushi is a 25-minute seaplane journey from Male, and you get to see lots of different hotels and islands, which is very interesting and makes for picturesque photos. You’re greeted by waving staff when you land, which just creates the homely feel Moofushi strives to create. We were welcomed by the lovely Manjoola (assistant GM) on arrival. Manjoola and Mevin (GM) are such lovely people and are always around if you need anything or just want to chat, which is really nice to see such high managerial roles present throughout your stay. Thanks for the aperitif as well, Mevin; we'll have to do it again next year 🥂 We arrived at the hotel mid-morning, and they had both of our villas ready and placed us next door to each other, which were both such lovely touches! We stayed in 2 Water Villas as there are 4 of us, and we would definitely recommend this category. You wake up to stunning panoramic views of the bright blue Indian Ocean and watch beautiful marine life pass you by, such as sharks, rays, octopus, and an array of fish. We had the lovely Janna look after our villa, with whom we enjoyed lots of lovely chats throughout our stay. He also stocked our mini-fridge with the items we liked, which was a nice touch. He also created a lovely decoration on our bed to celebrate my brother's birthday and the night before we departed. The island is all-inclusive as standard, and it is amazing! It's so comprehensive; there are over 125 bottles of wine from around the world included, premium spirits such as Bombay Sapphire, and each cocktail is of great quality. The food on this island is incredible, and it's nice to have everything included instead of realizing that something you fancy is not part of your package and having to pay extra. The food is all premium quality, and they serve lobster, Wagyu steaks, fresh yellowfin tuna, etc., all included!!! Special mentions to the lovely Ruwan and Dilup who made us some AMAZING curries during our stay and are always a huge delight to have our daily catch-ups with. They are both amazing chefs who have a passion for good food! The dessert selection is also top-notch. We don't usually like sweet things, but you can't not try the array of desserts that Priyantha and his team make! They have 57 different homemade ice cream options, and they are all amazing!! I am gluten-free, and the amazing Priyantha made me gluten-free pancakes, muffins for eggs Benedict, chocolate cake, and anything I wanted, which further shows the effort the staff go to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Priyantha made me a big gluten-free chocolate cake for my birthday, which was really special. Ruwan also made me a gluten-free Roti to have with my curries, which was amazing! Thank you, Priyantha, Ruwan, Dilup, and team once again for your kindness and amazing food 🥰 We also have to give a big shoutout to the lovely Hishan, who looked after us so well during our stay. He went out of his way to ensure we had the most enjoyable time! He prepared the Milky Way and a special table for us on the beach for my birthday . Also special mentions to Nizz (president 😉), Naja, Shaamu, Maize, Ali, and Shinaz (Ronaldo!!), Gopan, Ranjith (Tanducka), Nas (smiley ☺️), Hassan, Ritay, the knowledgeable sommeliers (Madu, Nithin, Koko, and Bhoumi), Rada (thank you for the amazing coconuts 🥥) who are all such lovely people and really pay special attention to you. All of the staff go above and beyond to ensure you have an enjoyable stay; nothing is too much for them. They all create a real homely vibe, and you can really connect with all staff on the island; you do end up making friends as they are all so lovely! The service is really the best I have ever experienced in the Maldives. Most of the guests on the island are repeaters, which just further highlights how special this island is. Don’t miss the wine tasting in the lagoon at 6 pm twice a week. You get to try different types of wine that are inclusive, which is great as you find wines you like that you usually wouldn't order and then can order it for dinner that evening! The sommeliers, as always, are very knowledgeable and make it fun and interesting! They provide a charcuterie board too, which is nice, and the reef sharks circle nearby, which is just another highlight of being in the Maldives. Also, don't miss the cocktail class at Totem at 6 pm where the amazing bartenders teach you how to make their favorite cocktails, and you also have the opportunity to make your favorite cocktail. I would also recommend going on the back-of-house tour (also included) as you get to see what happens behind the scenes to make this ship sail so smoothly! It's so interesting to learn about the back end of things, so I'd highly recommend this! We would also definitely recommend paying a little bit extra and booking the Milky Way dinner with BBQ as it was a lovely experience! The snorkeling and diving offering are amazing! We saw turtles, rays, sharks, octopus all from the island, which is amazing as a lot of hotels in the Maldives require you to take a boat to see this type of stuff so it's great that you can choose to see these amazing animals at any time as you please! We're currently holding flights for next year, and we will definitely be returning to our second home Moofushi… nowhere else will compare to this one now that we've experienced this jewel island. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and I’m sure if you visit, you will be returning many times like us! Our third visit in as many years was the best ever! This beautiful island is made so special by all the team whose customer service standards in our experience are second to none. We chose a Sand Villa this year which was perfect and so well positioned for snorkelling and the Totem bar! What an amazing place and holiday experience. Our wedding anniversary was so special thanks to Luthi and the F & B team. We would recommend attending presentations by Elena and her snorkelling guidance around the reef. The service we experienced was exceptional from the moment we arrived at Male airport. A magnificent resort that is so beautiful, superb accomodation, wonderful food and just the loveliest staff. It was evident that all the team have a great sense of community working together and we felt like part of that during our stay. I know there are many staff members that work behind the scenes to make the magic happen, but we would like to take this opportunity to mention some Moofushi stars that shone out to us during our stay and made us feel extremely welcome and special.
