Where is it

Set in Bel Ombre on the southwest coast of Mauritius. Transfer time from Mauritius International Airport: approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. Please note that if taking a seat in coach this may be longer depending on how many hotel stops are en route.

Hotel information

214 rooms in 3 crescents, set around the swimming pools. All sea oriented with balcony or terrace, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, flat-screen satellite TV, kettle and tea/coffee-making facilities, mini-bar*, safe and hairdryer. Standard Rooms with 1 queen-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 child/teen.

Board basis options:

Half Board option: includes breakfast and dinner at Show.

Full Board option: includes breakfast at Show, lunch and dinner at either Show or Playa.

All Inclusive option:

- Breakfast: at Show

- Lunch: in the restaurants and picnic baskets for guests on excursions (request to be placed at the reception 24-hours in advance)

- Dinner: at Show and Playa. Guests booked in Tamassa Rooms, get a 20% discount at Playa for lunch and dinner (discount applicable on food only)

- Afternoon tea served every afternoon at BBar

- Drinks (in all restaurants and bars): a wide selection of beverages (soft drinks, tea, coffee, beers, wines, juices, mineral water, cocktails and liquors) are available

- Tea/coffee facilities in room

- Mini-bar: water, juices and soft drinks, beers (replenished once/day)

- Beach service - poolside service – 24-hout room service (tray charges apply)

- Wellness (as per hotel schedule): Yoga and stretching classes, fitness centre, sauna, steam room, hydrojet (with supplement), and spa garden (mandatory reservation subject to availability at the Spa - adults only)

Please note: for guests staying in Tamassa rooms the All Inclusive package starts on arrival and finishes at 12 noon on day of departure. For guests staying in Superior room, Ocean Superior room, Beach room, Tamassa Family room and Family Suites All-Inclusive starts on arrival and finishes upon departure at the hotel on the last day.

Room upgrades:

Superior Rooms are set within the resorts gardens and have 1 queen-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Beach Rooms have beachfront access, iHome radio with USB music dock, and coffee plunger, with 1 queen-size bed plus rollaway bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child/teen.

Family Deluxe Rooms are interconnecting, with 1 king-size bed, plus bunk beds in a separate, small air-conditioned room with its own toilet, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 3 children or 2 adults, 1 teen and 2 children.

Show Restaurant (open kitchen and buffet breakfasts and dinners), Playa Restaurant (à la carte lunch and dinner on the beach), B-Bar (all-day poolside drinks and lunches, with TV screen), food truck (lunchtime burgers and snacks) and ice cream parlour (open during lunchtimes).

Jalsa resort nightclub - the very first to open in the South of the island (open Wed, Sat. Opening days/hours are subject to change). Outdoor cinema (twice per week, weather permitting).

We went there for a hens party and I cannot fault them! We had such a beautiful experience and they are so accomodating. They deserve more that 5 star review . They had a beautiful moist organised for us. The chef from the restaurant had made us a personal desert which was soo yummy! Big thank you to Tina and Leena for the welcome we received.

Great stay at the hotel..Celebrating my hubby birthday..well spent...great food lots of varieties... Welcoming staff...a big thanks to chef Edihno n team..Great service.. Love the swimming pool specially the aqua gym..highly recommended.. Definitely will come again

We Loved the Tamassa. The rooms were clean the staff were amazing and the food was delicious. all details were just spot on and exactly what they should be, the turndown service at night was great, the food never got boring over the 2 weeks we were there and the pool area never over crowded. We would return in a heartbeat
