I travelled to New Orleans with six of my college dorm mates in celebration of our 49th year since graduation. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff was super-efficient and friendly. The concierge, Wayne helped us in every way from transportation to personalized tours. He even helped me personally find an urgent care facility for an illness that popped up during my stay. The rooms are clean and beautifully appointed. The restaurants associated with the hotel especially Desire Oyster House are top notch. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast there before starting our day. The jazz club had a very talented band playing. Manager Erin Rose made our stay so comfortable. This hotel is even pet friendly! I would return in the future and recommend it highly! Read less

At The Royal Sonesta New Orleans they take the "Royal" in their title very seriously. Six of my college friends and I were treated royally as we gathered there to celebrate our 49th anniversary of graduating from SUNY Oneonta. Erin, the hotel manager, has done a stellar job of creating a wonderful atmosphere where her staff members are all super friendly and helpful. Wayne, the concierge so kindly assisted us in booking transportation to the airport, finding an excellent semi-private tour of the city, telling us about Mardi Gras World, and suggesting the perfect restaurants. The hotel is very pretty with a central courtyard and is located in the heart of the French Quarter on Bourbon Street making it a breeze to just step out onto Bourbon Street and tour the French Quarter. Even though the hotel is located right on Bourbon Street I didn't hear any of the partying from the street below in my beautiful room. Our rooms all shared a balcony that was perfect for us to get-together. I admired all the classic and funky artwork hanging throughout the hotel including a couple of Andy Warhol sketches. We had several delicious meals at Desire, which is a restaurant that's part of the hotel. Plus, we enjoyed some fantastic music at The Jazz Playhouse, which is also connected to the hotel. It was the perfect setting for our gathering. We had a blast! I would highly recommend this hotel for your visit to The Big Easy. Thank you, Royal Sonesta New Orleans. Read less

The concierge, Wayne gave us a few suggestions for things to do while in NOLA and they were all great. He even set things up for us ahead of time. We also ate in the Desire Restaurant attached to the hotel. The service was great and the food was delicious. The Jazz group was also very entertaining. The hotel is also close to many good restaurants and on Bourbon St. Would definitely stay there again! Read less
