Disney's Beach Club Resort

Walt Disney World, Orlando

Virgin rating

The hotel

Situated on a sparkling 25-acre lake near Disney’s Hollywood Studios and just a leisurely stroll from EPCOT, discover the casual elegance of this charming, New England-style Resort hotel. Disney's Beach Club Resort shares a host of amenities with it's more formal sister, Disney's Yacht Club Resort. Most noticeable of these is the mini water park Stormalong Bay, featuring a sand bottom pool, water slides, a lazy river and whirlpools - keeping the little ones happy when you're not at the parks, and giving you time to chill in the sun too. Why not reserve a poolside cabana for extra comfort, or head to Hurricane Hanna's for a frosty beverage! There's loads of other dining options for the family to enjoy too, with a highlight being the character breakfast at Cape May Cafe. At this hotel you're located right next to the marina where, in addition to renting boats to sail around Crescent Lake, you can board a ferryboat for direct transportation to EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s BoardWalk. It's worth looking at the options to upgrade to a club level room for access to the lounge with refreshments available throughout the day.

This was our second visit to the Beach Club. After a disappointing room assignment in December 2022, we asked for a room close to the elevator with a view that didn't involve the AC compressors. We were much happier with the room (4636), which was a very easy walk from the elevator and had a decent view of the EPCOT fireworks each evening from the Juliet balcony. The theming is pretty and well, "beachy." We had two queen beds, and a couch to relax on. The only real gripe we had was that, as with our last visit, the rooms at the Beach Club don't seem to be ready at check-in time, and Disney's "adding a little more pixie dust" excuse doesn't really cut it when you are exhausted and have to nap in the lobby instead of in the rather expensive room that you paid for from 3 PM on. This is why I am giving 4 stars instead of 5. The room is equipped with a room safe, a mini-cool box (not refrigerator), ample storage in the closet and drawers, and a split bath. The outer bath area has a make-up/shaving mirror, some storage cubbies and shallow shelving, and a hair dyer. Unfortunately, there is no way to "close" this portion of the bathroom, so the light may disturb other occupants in the room if someone is an early riser or needs to get up to use the bathroom at night. The inner bath is where the toilet and combination bath/shower are. No fancy rain shower is provided, but as a petite woman, those do not work well for me anyway. The bath comes with high quality shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner which are topped off daily. Kudos to Disney for reverting to daily housekeeping and including a small trash can in the inner bathroom, the outer bathroom and a trash/recycling receptacle in the bedroom. We appreciated having the amenities and restaurants of the Yacht Club co-located with those of the Beach Club. We enjoyed dinners at both the Yachtsman Steakhouse and the Ale and Compass; unfortunately, other plans precluded us from taking advantage of the Beaches and Cream Ice Cream Parlor during this visit. We also walked over the Boardwalk side, though we did not eat there this visit. Note: the Skyliner also makes getting back and forth to the Riviera Resort and its popular Topolino's Terrace quite easy. The big draws for Beach Club are the Stormalong Bay pool complex and the walking proximity to EPCOT and easy access to Hollywood Studios by boat. One can also walk to the EPCOT Skyliner station and take that to HS or even walk to HS, but we try to conserve steps when we can since most theme park days involve 8-12 miles of walking. Read less

Clean immaculate ! Great service took care of the kids housekeeping was amazing. I will hope to return again. It is too pricey. That was the only downfall DISNEY needs to start relaxing on their high prices. Keep the rich and keep the poor out.

I think this is one of the best values for a luxury hotel because it's not the most expensive one, but it has the best pool on property and such a great location right next to a Skyliner station. It's also the closest resort to the Epcot entrance. The Marketplace quick service food location in the gift shop is a great place to stop by for a to-go breakfast if you're up early to get in line for park opening. My kid loved the allergy-friendly Mickey and Minnie waffles. This time we made time for lots of pool lounging and she did some of the kid-activities like volleyball, Disney trivia, and tie-dying. Bell services was great in keeping in touch with us as we had lost luggage and had to have some deliveries to the room related to that. The onsite restaurant, Cape May, is not really a favorite of mine, but because the famous allergy chef, Chef TJ, was there we went and my kid had a spectacular meal from one of the chefs trained by TJ. One of our favorite evenings we spent eating dessert while watching a movie on the beach during the fireworks. Read less

We were seated at the side wall where we saw a lot of backs and butts of people but the characters didn’t cone. I had to get up twice and request a visit! When the team members told them to come they were abrupt and spent no time! It was so rushed! Mickey left during the meal so we never got to see him! In hindsight i would never be seated on the side! I asked to be refunded but was told theres no guarantee of characters. Well our hour and a half meal was worth 1/3 of the cost and the 5 minutes total with 3 characters worth zippo. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Great location. Paper thin walls.

There is one pro. The location is great for accessing both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. However, I could not believe how paper thin the walls are. We could hear entire conversations taking place in rooms beside us. Mostly exasperated parents endlessly yelling at their children for misbehaving. Couldn’t wait to leave.
