4 of us stayed in this beautiful hotel the first 2 weeks of July (ages 51, 50, 24 & 24). The hotel, the people, food and the country surpassed our expectations. Bedrooms: We stayed in 2 deluxe double rooms. The beds were very comfortable, the room was cleaned to a very good standard on a daily basis and the bathroom was lovely with a very deep sunken bath. Nice touch that we were provided clean beach towels in the room every day. Mini bar in the room is chargeable however this did not worry us as it was not really used. Pools: Pools were very quiet (as effectively we visited out of season) and clean, sunbeds were a plenty and we could always find some whatever time of the day. Beach: Beach was clean, sea does come right in so take care when walking down the beach as at some parts you could find yourself cut off. Beautiful sunsets to be seen and quiet often we would sit with a drink to watch the sun go down. Food: We stayed all inclusive as first time to Thailand. The Al A Carte restaurant was closed for refurbishment so, in the evenings, you could choose from the buffet or Al A Carte menu (you have to ask for it). When ordering food it is a little slow however, it is cooked to order, delicious and we were on holiday so hey, whats the rush. Lunch times we ate at veranda beachside restaurant by the sea, Once again good selection and was never disappointed. Drinks: A reasonable selection of all inclusive cocktails, frozen cocktails, beers, spirits etc served between 11am and 11pm, not quite to our taste however not a complaint. Evening entertainment: Basically there wasn't really any apart from a small band in the lobby bar in the evenings, quite often we would go down to the beach with our drinks. There are 5 or 6 dogs that will come up and sit near you however if you just ignore them they do not bother you. Staff: Everyone was very friendly, always with a smile on their face, one of the friendliest that we have been to. Hotel in general: Beautiful and well maintained. As in part of a forest wildlife was in abundance. Myna birds around the sunbeds (which ate out of my hand), monitor lizards, geckos and the highlight was a slow norris sitting in a tree between reception and the lobby bar. Trips: We spent a large percentage of our time on trips which we arranged via the rep and by local taxis which can be picked up at the end of the road. Explored the Phi Phi Islands (snorkling included), sea kayaked into caves then out into lagoons (bats in the caves) bathed Elephants in the sanctuary, visited the turtle rescue centre, taxi to local market, bamboo rafting, visited waterfalls, fed monkeys at the monkey temple, the list goes on. What an amazing place it is. Weather: In 2 weeks we only were rained on during the day twice, which lasted no more than 10 minutes. Few downpours during the night. Beautiful sunny, partially cloudy days. We had a fantastic time and definitely recommend this quiet, relaxed hotel. Read less

Just arrived home after a 2 week stay here, travelled with my 12year old and his grandmother .This hotel was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at and this is from us all .When we arrived the check in was quick and simple exactly what u need aft a 14 hour flight , our bags where taken to the 2 rooms wee had booked by a lovely porter who just was bursting with life and had an infectious happiness about him. After a quick look around we could believe the calmness that we felt the sound of the waterfalls from the pool the birds singing and the nature that theis hotel is built around . The restaurants at this hotel are amazing the beach bar has sn excellent menu and the staff are welcoming and friendly same is also said about the night time buffet but food is slightly more limited there. The staff are excellent also ,saying hello as u pass and do anything to help . The room maids are quick and very precise so no long Waites to get back into your room . The location is fantastic the village is 2 minute walk away and is defo worth a visite the locals are awsome . The village has everything you need supermarts, pharmacies, restaurants the lot but without the hectic feel about it . Also the taxi and tour service at hotel where second to none. This is the first hotel that I have travelled to long haul (there’s been a few) that I have came away feeling like I’ve a had a property holiday ,refreshed , rejuvenated the lot . We definitely all felt extremely sad leaving when we had to and could definitely stayed longer . 100% recommended and I will be back . Thank you Merlin for a wonderful holiday Read less

Fantastic find on my boyfriends part, really great hotel, some of it could do with a bit of a tidy up but for the price we paid, we thought it was excellent. The hotel staff are friendly, the gym has good facilities, the pools are really clean, the grounds are so full of lush plants and trees - so beautiful, and the hotel is right on the beach. The hotel food and drinks were a little pricey for us, though in low season they offer a 10% discount, which is nice, and the spa treatments had a 25% discount also, but they were still triple the price of any of the places up the road so we went with them instead after the first day. Breakfast had a fantastic selection, though we didn’t personally feel the need for the pizza or curry! :) There is a pool bar, which we enjoyed but make sure you get a cockatail from the beach bar and watch the sun go down - its called sunset beach for a reason! Rooms were cleaned properly every day, but bring your own hairdryer - they provide one but it doesn’t give much ‘oomph’. Local shops are a 2 minute walk away, lots of tailors, lots of places to rent a scooter or have a massage and plenty of good restaurants too. We particularly liked Siam Tumeric. The main centre (high street) was 8 mins away by car/tuk tuk/bike. Should cost you 100-150 baht to get in max. Would stay here again for SURE! Read less

The atmosphere wsd6 very relaxed, this was partly due to out being the low season and there not being so many guests, which suited is perfectly. All the food and drink we had within the hotel was lovely and the friendliness of the staff too. We used the hotel taxi service to take is to the town and Bang Niang market and on both occasions the drivers were excellent, picking is up at a time to suit and recommending places to eat and drink. We chose to do our trips with Khaolak Vistas and you can see our review with them, they come highly recommended. The world is a big place to explore but we would definitely return. Thank you for to Krisda and all the staff for a wonderful time. Read less
