The best hotel we stayed in by far on our entire trip. Paradise! Read less

The good: Staff is very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is quite nice. The feel and build of the place is charming. The not so good: The pool villas are not private, meaning people have full view of your terrace and pool, and for ours there is a walkway past. The pool at the pool villa is tiny. The beach is unusable during low tide (most of the time we were there). Either or: It is very secluded which is nice, but also means it is a 300bath taxi ride to the nearest small village of you want other restaurants. Read less

The hotel deserves its “Boutique” nomenclature - it is styled around traditional Thai architecture. We opted for a villa with a private pool - which was a nice treat. The main pool was clean and there were no issues with sun bed availability. The food and drink service was appreciated and needed during the day. The hotel facilities are excellent being well maintained and clean. The breakfast was fantastic and being able to sit and eat almost on the beach was great. We arrived on New Years Eve and attended the gala party which was held adjacent to the beach with a superb buffet - a great way to welcome 2020. The staff team were excellent, took time to welcome you and could not do enough to help. The Team from the General manager onwards are caring and friendly. Excellent holiday. Read less

We saw this hotel several times when we stayed at another resort nearby and liked it, but couldn't book it as it had previously been adults only. This January the adults only condition was gone and we were able to book 8 nights at this hotel for our family - my husband, myself and our two kids, one of whom is an infant. We exchanged some letters with the management of the hotel confirming that kids of any age are allowed at the property and were only asked to try and keep them as quiet as possible so as not to disturb other guests. The hotel is supposed to be a "secluded quiet hideaway", so the request is vaguely understandable but weird. Ok. Upon arrival ~at 8 PM we discovered that it was not us who could disturb the guests. "The secluded hideaway" had a mini full moon party taking place at the Thai restaurant, with a DJ playing "Equador" and stuff (like it's some ancient rave from the 90s). The music banged really loud and you could hear it inside the villa with the doors shut. The staff said the DJ was supposed to make his appearance 3 nights during our stay and finish at 10 pm. I'd say it's a nasty surprise, especially after the correspondence we had had before booking our stay. You seek a private secluded quiet place, you communicate with the management before booking, you pay and then find out that there's gonna be 3 ridiculous parties during your stay. The management know you're coming with kids, but give you no heads up because apparently they need to make a sale and they don't really care about your comfort. We were forced to check out the next day and move to a trully quiet resort nearby. The management refused to refund our booking and the halfboard we paid for as well. Clearly their aim is to sell, not to refund. Nobody offerred apologies or even tried to make things right with us. Check out? Off you go! I'd say that's a very strange smelling practice for a 5 star resort. I'd like to add that not only won't you be able to go to sleep early at party nights, but also won't get to sleep in the next morning because there are no blackouts on the upper windows, so you are welcome to rise and shine with the sun. Very disappointed and frustrated by this resort. Those who need parties and DJs go to Ao Nang and choose other types of resorts. But those who expect privacy and quiet evidently won't find it in Tubkaek either. Neither will they find respect for their guests. Seek it elsewhere. Read less

This place was amazing! The resort, the beach and the service of the staff was excellent! We would love to come back. The good thing is that you can use restaurants and massage that is close to the hotel, as it can be a bit expensive. I definitely recommend this resort!
