Before I start let me explain we are a picky bunch and do not compliment easily. We are four friends ( 2 x couples) all well travelled professionals. We could not fault the Tubkaak. The location, the rooms, the restaurants are all exceptional however without doubt the staff are the shining stars. They were absolutely perfect having the right mix of being attentive but not too imposing. The room we had was a delight (no 48) we had been upgraded ( as the property was quite empty at the time we visited) and we had an outside seating area and a small pool. The vaulted ceiling in the room gave a spacious feel and the double sinks and walk in shower really gave this venue a luxurious element. The staff groomed the beach each morning, it was therefore clean and tidy and the beds were very comfortable ( bean bags on the beach). Really I would give this property 10\10 you will not be disappointed. Read less

What an outstanding place we cant say enough good things about this gem from the staff to the beach to rooms you will not be disappointed it is set amongst the trees along a gorgeous coast line with views towards the Hong islands which has phenomenal sunsets daily, we stayed in a deluxe room (number 137) for 8 nights, for me it had a tree house feel about it, we enjoyed sitting on our balcony everyday listening to the birds and nature we was fortunate enough to see a monkey in the trees right outside our balcony the one morning, everything was perfect we loved our outdoor shower and bath, the air-con worked well and we had free soft drinks and water in our room daily, i was going to upgrade to a pool villa for my husbands birthday but we loved our room so much we didn't want to leave it. i have allergies and had a special meal prepared for me for lunch and dinner with no problems every day, Kom was our waiter for most meals he is one of the best we have ever encountered he was always accommodating and made us feel so welcome he also has a great sense of humor he made our stay even more delightful! we booked several tours through the hotel which was very easily done, they even arranged for us to hire a scooter for the day it was delivered to the hotel and picked back up again for 450 baht, it was great fun getting out and about sight seeing by ourselves, the ladies on the front desk are very helpful their attention and care for customers is a true asset to the place the whole place has a relaxing calm feel about it very peaceful, it felt like we was in a quaint little village not a hotel complex, in our opinion it is more a adult hotel although family's are welcome. We will treasure our memory's from our stay here and hopefully one day return Read less

Birds galore and the beach is highly walkable and the warm waters inviting. The pool area of an oasis and the staff is genuine and wonderful. Hammocks, swings and comfy beanbag type loungers are there for your lounging delight by the ocean. Heavenly. The breakfast buffet was my fav of my 3.5 week trip to Thailand, Singapore and Cambodia; wonderful in everyway, the tropical fruits were the best I have ever had anywhere. After a day or two stay, the attentive staff knew what you wanted and had it served before you asked! The breakfast crew in particular was just OUTSTANDING. The musician that played in the eve was wonderful, the Thai and Italian restaurants outstanding. You seriously need not ever leave the resort! They even arrange for the boats to pick you up off the beach and whisk you away for island and snorkel tours. I will go back some day and bring others with me. My only complaint was the size of the room (I was by the pool), it was a bit cramped but the outdoor shower was lovely! I look forward to returning one day. Read less

The breakfast buffet was really good. Everything in the Tubkaak makes you forget about your life outside, my girlfriend said she never wanted to leave. But I want to focus on the people working there, we had the best service we've ever had. Joom, Namfon, Care, Eve and everyone in the reception and restaurants helped me arrange a romantic dinner where I proposed to my girlfriend. They were my complices and made everything went smoothly and even hired a photograph that captured the moments. During our stay we went to the Hong Islands and went hiking to the Khao Ngon Nak National Park, both activities are very recommended. Even when our last two days we stayed in another hotel in Ao Nang (which was really good too but not as amazing as the Tubkaak) they managed to find our room and left us a laminated pictured of the proposal with very sweet words from all the service on the back of the picture. We spent 3 nights here and had a lovely time. We had a garden room not far from the main restaurant and beach. The room was lovely. The room and the whole resort has a very nice modern Thai eco style. Very chic. Everything was spotless. Our room was lovely with high ceilings, lots of windows, ceiling fan etc. The air conditioning worked super well. The pictures don’t really show just how spacious the suite actually is as the entrance way is quite roomy in itself and has a built in counter with fridge by the door convenient to drop off your “to go” items (in fact this is where they kept a wicker bag with fresh beach towels for you to use for the beach) the entrance way also had a large closet and a desk/vanity. There is a wall between the entrance way and the bedroom so almost like having another room. The bathroom is off the entrance and is beautiful in its design. Also quite spacious and featured a beautiful outdoor bathtub which we made a point to use. Was very relaxing. Coffee, tea, water and complimentary soft drinks are provided. In the evening they offered a turn down service as well. The beach is beautiful here with a backdrop of islands in the distance. Hammocks and very comfy bean bag chairs and tables add to the chic ambience. Every morning there was a team of people sweeping the beach. The beach is very quiet and Peaceful- no crowds or pushy vendors. This beach was the perfect place to just unwind and relax. Pool area is tucked within the resort (no view of ocean from there) but was also nice - nothing flashy. Breakfast was to die for. Was very good. Wonderful selection with made to order eggs, waffles and my favorite roti. Also fresh juices and a noodle soup stand. All served in the main restaurant overlooking the ocean. We ate dinner once there and the food was good albeit a little pricy. We had ordered a dessert and had to wait a long time for a scoop of ice cream. We had to ask again for it and seemed like they had forgotten but really didn’t get any apology. Not a big deal but we kinda expected more especially when you are paying more. We did not try the Italian restaurant as we like to eat Thai food when in Thailand. There are a handful of other places to eat along the beach all offering beachside dining and we tried a couple of them. All were very nice and not as pricey as the resort. The seafood restaurant a short walk away has laundry service, massage and also taxi service. We used them to arrange our taxi to the airport (takes 45-60mins) and this was cheaper than through the resort. We did the private long tail boat to the hong islands which we highly recommend. Had a great experience. They pick you up right from the resort 8:30 and drop you back 12:30. Our boat driver didn’t speak much English but we still managed to communicate. The boat goes to hong island and you get to spend about 2 Hrs there. The trip only 20 minutes. Following that he takes you sightseeing to some other areas and you can take some time to get out and explore. The coolest was a lagoon surrounded by cliffs he took us to where the water is shallow and you could get out and walk around or swim. Then he takes you right back to the hotel beach. The whole trip about 1900 baht. Well worth it. This was a highlight for us. Service all around was very good and pleasant with the exception of the wait in the restaurant for our dessert. The manager had come out and introduced himself when we checked in. I had mentioned it we were there in part to celebrate a milestone bday for myself and on the last night found a bouquet of flowers and a piece of cake with “happy birthday” on it. They also packed a small continental bf for us the morning we left as the restaurant was not yet open. All in all I recommend this place. If you want a special Thai experience at a quiet beautiful beach and get away from it all this is a good choice. Read less
