The Crest is an elegant hotel where you can get rooms that are right on the waterfront. Our room had a nice window seat complete with binoculars so that we could see the whales, ships and birds from our room. Our room had a nice window seat complete with binoculars so that we could see the whales, ships and birds from our room. The furnishings were nice and elegant but the room was a little tight and pricey. There was parking out from but not a good canopy to get out of the rain to unload luggage in front of the motel. Restaurant was very good and the staff was friendly. There is a casino and sports bar next door. Location is excellent for walking all over Prince Rupert. The only way we could cool the room down was keeping the windows open (no screens) and hoping that the rain would not come in. Read less

We booked the Crest Hotel for two nights. The hotel is within an easy 10 minute drive from the port (with the help of a sat nav.) It is also well place d for the town, the museum and tourist area. We had travelled on the Inside Passage Ferry and would not arrive until late and wanted a day to explore Prince Rupert. The hotel copes with late arrivals efficiently as there were a lot of guests from our ferry. The car park is quite cramped given that most Canadians prefer to drive very large 4x4 trucks. There is an overflow car park but the sign was difficult to see in the dark. Our room was good. It was spacious, well decorated, immaculately clean and warm. The bed was large, soft and comfortable. The bathroom was small but with a very large shower. Everything worked well. We had a good view of the harbour and a seat in the bay window. The staff were friendly and helpful. Read less

Well situated, very good restaurant right on seafront (great sunset), next to museum and craft brewery. Prince Rupert generally exceeded our expectations, having somehow ended up on a no-grizzly-tour day. Mount Howe walk was hard to find (it was for us); Butze Rapids was a long way (too long through streets and highways) to walk but truly awesome… Read more
Well situated, very good restaurant right on seafront (great sunset), next to museum and craft brewery. Prince Rupert generally exceeded our expectations, having somehow ended up on a no-grizzly-tour day. Mount Howe walk was hard to find (it was for us); Butze Rapids was a long way (too long through streets and highways) to walk but truly awesome temperate rainforest walk once there; museum very good. But when you arrive on train (late at night) there are only three taxis, and it can takes a while. Read less
