Grand Hyatt Baha Mar

Bahamas, Caribbean

The hotel

No expense has been spared; no indulgence left out; no luxury thought too extravagant – the designers of the Baha Mar resort have included every bell and whistle to create the ultimate Bahamian resort. And who’d have thought you could better the beautiful white sands that Grand Hyatt Baha Mar reclines on? As well as the temptingly soft shoreline and Caribbean waters, staying here gives you the key to all manner of experiences and entertainment from golf, tennis, pools, and spa treatments, to feeding turtles at The Sanctuary. But it’s not all swimsuits and sportswear here, there’s plenty of opportunity to glam up by joining the high rollers at the Caribbean’s largest casino – a glitzy wonderland with floor-to-ceiling sea views. Las Vegas has nothing on Baha Mar.

I went to Nassau with my family. We booked at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar through Costco Travels. I definitely recommend booking through Costco Travels which includes the stay at the resort, the resort fee, daily gratuities, and 100 USD towards room charges. This is a cashsless resort and so everything is charged to the room. We booked a double bed in the east tower with the fountain view. The room was big enough for four people and really comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful and very welcoming. There water bottles in the room and you can always order more complimentary. There are many restaurants in the resort to choose from, restaurants inside the resort are a bit pricey. There are also food trucks by the beach, which have reasonable prices. The food trucks close at 6 however. I definitely recommend eating at the food trucks if you have a chance, El Jefe, Sandy Dog, and SliDderrzz. We ate at Costa, the first day, which is a Mexican restaurant. The food was average and the prices very high. We also ate at Fi'lia which is an Italian restaurant. I would definitely do not recommend Fi'lia, the prices way to high for the quality of the food, they charged us $12.00/water bottle. If you get a chance take a taxi to downtown Nassau and find restaurants there or just go to fish fry (group of 20 restaurants that sell Bahamian food). The pools heated and very clean. Staying in the pools was very relaxing. There are soo many options to choose from when it comes to pools. Make sure to go to the pool with the H2O bar and have a drink, they have the best cocktails. All the pools are very nice and relaxing. The beach is clean and the staff is readily available to set up nonmotorized sports for you, which is free of cost. Make sure to order in-room dining while during your stay at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, the food is good, less pricey that restaurants and the services are excellent. The staff is very very nice, always ready to help with a smile, they make you feel welcome and make an effort to make your trip comfortable and relaxing. I would most certainly stay at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar if I visit Nassau again. Read less

Hotel and grounds were pretty & clean other than cigarette smell in lobby. We got good deal on room/flight, however food/drinks were over priced and not great quality. I would take advantage while property is still new if I returned.

Baha Mar is a very high end resort with outstanding pools (6) and great beach access. Beautiful with outstanding service, but you must pay a hefty price for food options. You have to take a taxi to get to cheaper meals.

Travel to the Fish Fry area for a cheaper taste of the local food. Also, head to the Straw Market to pick up your souvenirs and pay one half of what the resort will charge you. The beach here is beautiful and there are a ton of pools to choose from. I booked the ocean view room in the west tower with balcony and it really only has a distant partial ocean view. I would get a room on the fountain side next time and save the extra money. I did not have a problem with any of the staff and they were helpful when asked. I suggest brining a cooler for your room as there is not a refrigerator you can use, but ice is down the hallway. I also picked up alcohol at the duty-free shop on the way out of the airport to save a few some money. I would stay here again. Read less
