Grand Hyatt Baha Mar

Bahamas, Caribbean

The hotel

No expense has been spared; no indulgence left out; no luxury thought too extravagant – the designers of the Baha Mar resort have included every bell and whistle to create the ultimate Bahamian resort. And who’d have thought you could better the beautiful white sands that Grand Hyatt Baha Mar reclines on? As well as the temptingly soft shoreline and Caribbean waters, staying here gives you the key to all manner of experiences and entertainment from golf, tennis, pools, and spa treatments, to feeding turtles at The Sanctuary. But it’s not all swimsuits and sportswear here, there’s plenty of opportunity to glam up by joining the high rollers at the Caribbean’s largest casino – a glitzy wonderland with floor-to-ceiling sea views. Las Vegas has nothing on Baha Mar.

My husband and I stayed here and it was a beautiful hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room service and pool side service was fast, hot and the food was delicious. Hubby and I stay here for a wedding. The place is a city into itself. So you can walk daily and get your exercise too! The rooms are extra-ordinary classy and comfortable. There is a sliding door that you can leave open or close. There are plenty of pool areas to choose from - the drinks and food can become expensive. The restaurant food… Read more

There is a sliding door that you can leave open or close. There are plenty of pool areas to choose from - the drinks and food can become expensive. The restaurant food options are immense. and there is a casino too. Be sure to ask for a water view if you want to face the ocean, the rooms in the other direction face a fountain area that is just as beautiful. We did not have any interruptions in service level or quality of food and drinks. excellent for a quick weekend get a way! Read less

My wife and I are on our last day at the hotel for our Babymoon from NYC. We made the best of this trip as positive people, but this hotel is a major disappointment. If you’re looking for a high end hotel experience with good service, look elsewhere. This place is not worth your money. When we checked in, we had to wait 4 hours for our room (never happened to us at a hotel and we travel a lot), and then they put us in a room we clearly hadn’t paid for. The people at the front desk didn’t seem inclined to help until we got upset and then asked us to wait some more and put us in a room that I will say is nice. No one explained anything about the hotel at check in. Did not seem to care or matter that my wife was pregnant or that we were having bad service. Manager never came over to apologize or speak to us personally. Nice start to the trip, huh? The hotel decor is in the category of “tacky casino” and not welcoming for a couple looking for a high end vacation. It smells like cigarettes around the lobby because of The service at the hotel is poor, at best. No one helps you to a spot at the pool, the chairs are uncomfortable, no one comes over to ask if you need food or drink even if you put up the blue flags on the chairs like you’re supposed to. The guy who brings over the umbrella at the beach seemed genuinely bothered that he had to do his job. Healthy food options are lacking. Some obnoxious people from the South started blasting country music from a portable speaker at the pool over the reggae music the hotel was playing and the hotel did nothing even after we said something and they said they would. The concierge who is, I remind you, a concierge had no suggestions for excursions. We wanted to do a glass bottom boat (popular down here), and she said they don’t do that, we should look online, and they have no recommendations for companies to use. Smile, smile, sorry bye. There is more but I’m sure you’ve read enough by now, so I won’t bore anyone with more details. Do not be fooled by the positive reviews. If you’re an experienced traveler looking for a hotel worth spending your money on, and you’re not at a bachelorette party or someone getting wasted who can’t tell a Holiday Inn from a Ritz Carlton, look elsewhere. I’m staying at Melia Nassau but came to Baha Mar ESPA for a pedicure. Booked yesterday for today. I would say staff were business like, not warm at all. Pedi 25 minutes from start to finish. $70 American. The spa was freezing cold even staff were saying they were cold. No spa music during the pedicure just the rumble of the other spa chairs.… Read more
