Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski

Havana, Cuba

The hotel

Part of the fabric of hypnotically beautiful Old Havana, this Grande Dame of the city sits among its champagne-coloured buildings and World Heritage sites. Virtually at its feet you’ll find iconic El Floridita, where Hemingway used to hang out – but reach its rooftop and you’re rewarded with city views, with El Capitolio and Central Park two of your closest neighbours. You’ll have infinite opportunities to soak up those city scenes while you’re up there, with an al fresco sitting room, poolside cocktail bar, panoramic restaurant, and urban-chic pool, whose glazed screen separates you from the sky beyond. There’s no mistaking your setting downstairs either – with the elegant rooms’ French windows framing the city, and the light-flooded cigar lounge fringed with eight balconies, so you can gaze out over Central Park as you sip Cuban rum, while the Cigar Sommelier hand-rolls cigars.

The drinks were a bit pricy (I wasn't surprised as it was a pretty posh hotel). Sunset is the best time to go. Very beautiful. Read less

We arrived at Havanna airport. during booking directly at Kempinski Havanna they recommended us to book additionally VIP arrangement. hence, we have been picked up staff directly at the gate and accompanied through immigration process directly to a lounge(ok, Cuban style, but AC). staff took care for our luggage and then we have been picked up once more by Kempinski staff and went to bus. with a luxury bus we drove directly to the hotel. we arrived after max. 30 mins and we were welcomed by lady in red. hotel is located in the heart of Havanna, just 5 mins walk to capitol. building is spectacular; to be honest there are a lot of similar buildings but Kempinski is the only one renovate in this luxury style. check in process was quick and efficient including a lot of smile. arrived to the romm after passing huge and elegant lobby we had an amazing view to the capitol direction. room has been on highest standard. for refreshig we went to roof top area and had some perfectly made drinks with a view, unique. the infinity pool is as well unique. you feel like being in a different world after arriving via Havanna streets. lady in red recommended us several restaurants, hit spots drivers and none was a fail. all have been as well on high standard. breakfast changed with some supplements each day on high quality basis, staff is friendly and quick. Kempinski in Havana is an excellent Homebase for trips in Havanna, we´ll come back, and we already have been there for 5 nights. Read less

Hands down the BEST hotel in Havana. High quality, spacious, sophisticated rooms and absolutely amazing pool with gorgeous views of the city!! Service was good and location is top notch. Only thing I would have liked would have been a better breakfast but that’s a minor thing when you consider everything else

Fancy and swanky but absolutely horrible service. Over priced menu, unpleasant staff if you’re not perfectly fluent in Spanish, you can see a clear difference in attentiveness. Theres better options locally.

Beautiful property in havana old town with a great location. Service was great as expected when visiting a Kempinski hotel. Good breakfast with wide choice and very friendly staff. The best barometer for any hotel is seeing the general manager pop up in all locations of the hotel and keeping an eye on customer satisfaction; well done!
