Paradisus Varadero

Varadero, Cuba

The hotel

Set on one of Cuba's beautiful beaches, the Paradisus Varadero is a great complex with a fantastic range of amenities. The main hotel has several restaurants to choose from, and the bars are open 24-hours a day, so there's no need to watch the clock for last orders! There are six scattered swimming pools to lounge by, and the young ones will love the activities on offer at the baby and mini-clubs, allowing you time to soak up the sun in perfect peace. When feeling active, the list of activities is almost endless - try your hand at a variety of water sports including kayaking. For pure indulgence, the spa features two hydrothermal circuits and a superb relaxation terrace with janzu pool, swimming pool and two Jacuzzis. At night, enjoy a cocktail at one of the bars overlooking the ocean, before deciding whether to head for an Italian, an International gourmet restaurant, Mexican, Fusion or Japanese for your evening meal. Heading over to The Reserve, you will find a further two more restaurants Bana and Fuego — you'll be spoilt for choice! Evening entertainment is available to suit all ages, so make sure you have yourself some night-time fun, whether you're 5 or 105!

April 2020 would have been my 8th year in a row spending my vacation with my friends at my favourite resort The Paradisus Resort and Spa Varadero. Sadly, we all know the ending to that chapter of 2020. Yet, through the trying days to come, one thing remained consistent in my thought process in an ever changing world...I WILL go back to the Paradisus!! So now as things slowly change for the better, I know my time will soon come. The resort is wonderful, and as I have mentioned in a review over a year ago, I was excited to see the new changes. New Lobby, new renovated rooms. There are always choices of restaurants, entertainment every day and night. A tranquil spa area with its own pool and service's. The beach is spacious and gives a fantastic view from rooms, pathways just about anywhere you walk in and around the grounds. There truly is so much offered when staying with the Paradisus. What makes it a return location for me,  has always been the people that work there. Hospitality at is best, not to mention many who have become family to me when I go back. So if you asked me, how have I managed day to day through this global pandemic... thoughts of the Paradisus Resort and Spa Varadero. There's Just Something About It! Read less

This past March break would have been our third visit to this resort. Because of Covid 19, we had to cancel our trip. My grandchildren, children and I were so disappointed. We love this resort and hope to return as soon as possible. We always stay in ocean view rooms. Cuba is a perfect place for a family vacation. The staff at Paradisus are lovely people. Some even remembered us from last year. The beach is pristine and safe for swimming. The grandchildren loved the kids club. We had to drag them away everyday. Ignore comments about the food in Cuba. The people, the culture, the weather, the beach and the safety is why you go. And there is plenty to eat in the dinning room. Bring Canadian cash and convert it to pesos at the hotel for tips. Leave your loonies and toonies at home. And no, the Cubans aren’t after the American dollar. Leave those home as well. I can’t wait to go back to Paradisus. I hope we don’t have to wait too long.
