Playacar Palace was a great place to stay for our trip to Riviera Maya. We were able to get a fifth floor ocean view room and our view was gorgeous! The beach was small, but the pool made up for it. My husband and daughter did enjoy walking along the beach very much.

We wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else. The rooms and facilities were very clean. The dining was a highlight for our family (kids, grandparents, adults). The food was wonderful and the service top notch. A very special touch was arranged by Artemio, Hilda and Olivia on our last night. We were surprised with a wonderful meal prepared by Enrique Santos -- so healthy! so tasty! Not only had they taken the time to learn our preferences, they knew each of our names and provided a genuine care. Sitting on open patio, waves crashing, palm tress blowing in the wind, no bugs, beautiful resort lighting... a completely magical experience! Thanks so much Artemio for helping create a lasting memory! Read less

My wife and I love staying here when it is just the two of us. The staff is top notch and the food is always great. They are working to update a few areas and this is all for the better. It is very close to Fifth Avenue if you want to go shopping. Bocellis is the place to go for Italian food and wine. The one real problem is the lack of beach. It… Read more

It is very close to Fifth Avenue if you want to go shopping. Bocellis is the place to go for Italian food and wine. The one real problem is the lack of beach. It has eroded until there is very little left to relax on.Still plenty of room around the pool until it becomes over crowded as it normally would with spring break. Read less

This was our fourth visit to this Palace hotel. Since it is smaller than many of the other Palace hotels (~200 rooms), the service and attention is more personalized. The food, beverages, and spa were all top of the line-which is one of the key reasons we keep coming back. Plenty of tours are available and the ferry ride to Cozumel is a must. But we also love the proximity to the town (Plays del Carmen). Lots of shops, restaurants, bars and live music clubs...or just perfect for walking the main drag ("5th Avenue). Locals with families mix with tourists and we've always felt safe and comfortable whether day or night. Read less
