My husband and I just got back from a split stay between here and Sandals Halcyon. We had an incredible experience. Our room had an amazing view. It was one of the butler suites with a view over the smallest pool and of the ocean front. We enjoyed eating breakfast on our porch every morning. The beach here gets a red flag more than the other two resorts, but when it is a yellow flag, it is really fun to ride the waves. The beaches at the other two Sandals resorts are very tame with nearly no waves. So if you want to get the free shuttle over to those beaches it is no problem anyway! This resort is spread out and has hills and stairs, if you don't like walking or stairs it is nice to have a butler to golf cart you around lol. The food was very good and staff very friendly. Our room was cleaned and refreshed everyday by house keeping. The bed we had was SUPER comfortable. We slept so well here. Also, it is worth noting that we went in November and the weather was beautiful. It stayed between 78 (at night)-82(day) degrees F the entire time and it was not humid. I highly recommend!! Read less

Please Read if you haven't left for La Toc yet or are thinking about Sandals as a vacation destination...... My wife and I searched long and hard for a honeymoon destination and landed on the Sandals Regency La Toc in St Lucia. I will say that St. Lucia is beautiful but I would strongly suggest staying away from Sandals properties and I will explain why in this review. My wife and I have stayed at dozens of resorts and several all-inclusive resorts and I will say with 100% assurance the Sandals experience is not worth what you pay. We stayed at the resort from 10/8-10/16 for our honeymoon and we booked 2 separate rooms for our stay. The first room was on ocean view room for first 4 days and the last for was a room with a butler on the sunset bluff. The resort it's self is very nice but there were definitely things that didn't meet expectations. I'm not usually one to write reviews but for what we spent and the resolutions/service Sandals is trying to offer now is obsurd. So I wanted to get my opinion out there to others, take it as you wish. Before our trip Sandals sent out email communication about preferences for your room upon arrival on what you wanted stocked for your wine, liquor, etc.. We sent ours in and it wasn't in the room upon arrival. Not a big deal we called the front desk and let them know and they said it would be delivered. We then decided to go to dinner at Neptune's for our first night. We sat down and ordered drinks and then food, the food took over 1 hour and 45 mins to come out and the waiter said there was an issue in the kitchen. When the food did come out it wasn't hot. We ate what we could and left. We told the hostess about the wait for the food as we left the restaurant and she apologized. We shook it off and thought it was just a bad night and could happen to anyone. As we get back to the room hours later we still have not received our alcohol we requested to the room, we called again and let them know as well as ordered a few things on the room service menu due to not eating much at dinner. Again the time it took to receive the food was almost 2 hours after calling and following up multiple times and it was colder than dinner was and our alcohol never came the first night at all. The next day we started with a fresh outlook from our initial experience and went to the pool for the day. We didn't know you needed to get up at 6am to get a chair because they all were taken by individuals towels and butlers reserving for their guest. Wasn't a big deal as we laid our stuff down by the swim up bar and we learned our lesson for the days to come. We meet some very nice people and they let us put our items next to their chairs. The day was great but in the afternoon after drinking for most of the day the swim up bar ran out of Tito's Vodka and straws. We came to find out this was nearly a daily occurrence as it happened 5 of the 8 days we were there. It's very hard to drink a frozen drink without a straw let me tell ya. And changing liquor 3/4 through the day is never a good thing to someone who doesn't want a headache the next morning. I also thought in my head I couldn't believe what I was paying for a resort that was running out of liquor and straws regularly at the main swim up bar. We asked the bar staff multiple times about liquor and if they were getting more or if straws had come back so we could drink a frozen drink. Most of the time the answer was no with no urgency to take care of the issue, which was very frustrating. After a few long nights or drinking at the piano bar and cricketers (the wings there are good) we decided to have a more peaceful day and went up to the pool next to Armando's that sits on the top of the hill at the resort. When we got there we were worried about getting into the water as there was lots of debris' floating in the pool (trash, leaves, cups) and the water was so discolored you could barely see to the bottom. There was a pool manager going around telling the guest that the chemical balance in the pool was ok and he was working on getting it cleaned up. We got in just a few times to swim up to the bar to get a drink but it really didn't look good to swim in as nearly all the people in that area were staying out of the pool. Another issue we didn't realize until we got home was the swim up bars closing time. Each day the bar closed at 4:30pm and the website says specifically 6pm. Maybe they had run out of too many liquors for the day and had to shut down but this was the daily routine at the resort. As we encountered issues we were not approached with great service overall. Waiting was a common occurrence whether is was drinks at the bar, water at breakfast, room service, or people even greeting us with a smile. The staff does not work on tips and in a way I wish they did because the majority of them look as if they don't want to be there which may be some of the problem. I reached out to the resort after we arrived back home from our honeymoon and gave the service number a call and provided feedback about our trip. They assured me that someone would get back with me in a minimum of 3-5 business days. After 7 business days I called to follow up again and they said complaints are dealt with in the order in which they are received and the time is usually 3-5 days. So the assumption is many people dealt with the same issues we did and were calling in as well. After 10 business days I followed up again and the woman on the phone promised that I would be contacted that day by someone. This didn't happen and after my 3rd time calling and 12 business days after my initial call I got a very generic email saying that my claims were not founded upon reviewing property logs and following up with management. They also said we should have reported the issues on site (which we did to the hostess and bar staff multiple times) We are not looking to go spend hours in an office complaining to management when we are on our honeymoon wanting to relax and have fun. We made the best of it and the beach was amazing, the people we met were amazing, St Lucia is a gorgeous place to visit I would just not do it with Sandals. I obviously wasn't good with the email and responded to have someone contact me in person, they called that day and I let them know of all the issues. They agreed that there should be something done and management would reach back out to me later that day. I received and email later that day stating I was being offered 11,000 Sandals points for a future trip which is equivalent to $200 USD for a vacation I spent over $8,000 on. So again to sum up this review of Sandals La Toc St Lucia -Ran out of liquor daily at the swim up bar -Swim up bar closed an hour and a half early daily -Bar ran out of straws 5/8 days on the resort -Pool conditions were not comfortably usable -Dinner wait was 1-2 hours after ordering multiple nights with "Kitchen issues" -Things that we set up upon arrival didn't happen -Room service was non-existent and food was atrocious -Customer service with issues has been unbelievably bad both on resort and after returning home -If St Lucia is your destination please consider other resorts that are not Sandals -If your looking at taking a Sandals vacation please consider this review as we are avid travelers and you could take 3 vacations for the price of Sandals and have a better experience. -They will not try to take care of you with any issues that possibly could arise if you talk to them post trip Spend your money wisely and go somewhere that's not Sandals. We traveled to Sandals Regency La Toc for our honeymoon, staying from Thursday to Thursday. This was our first Sandals stay, and our first time traveling to St. Lucia, so we weren't entirely sure what to expect. Upon arriving in St. Lucia, we were taken to a special Sandals lounge to wait for our shuttle where there were free drinks and snacks. Time of shuttle rides and everything were all very well communicated. St. Lucia is REALLY hilly, so the shuttle ride was definitely a lot of up and down driving, so if you're not into that kind of thing pack a Dramamine. The ride out *is* beautiful, with lots of scenic views along the way. Definitely have your camera/phone ready for that. We had picked a small suite that had a covered balcony (The Piton Oceanview Veranda Suite) that also had butler service. Our butlers were all incredible, but both Marcus and Lebon "stole the show", and went absolutely above and beyond for us when we needed anything. Form the moment we arrived to the moment we left, they had all of our trips handled, all of our schedules seeming memorized, and really made sure we had the best on-site experience we could have. One thing about the butler service: They're not "up in your business" to any point other than making sure you have what you need for things you've scheduled. Otherwise, it's up to you to decide if you want something where everything is brought to you/catered, or if you just want someone to handle your excursions, dinner reservations and whatnot. Either way, having a dedicated point of contact made the entire service worth having. The restaurants at Regency La Toc have a great amount of variety. My wife has celiac disease and required gluten-free options, and every restaurant had a good amount of options available with chefs who were very knowledgeable about how to handle those requests. The waitstaff was generally good about it, though some weren't quite as helpful with others. I would strongly suggest if you feel like there's an issue to ask to discuss things directly with the chef if possible. That said, at Kimonos, both Ginna (the waitress) and Meyers (the chef) were absolutely incredible with this. Their knowledge of dietary allergens and how to cook around them made for a really great experience. Sandals has seemingly every excursion option under the sun, and I'd strongly suggest making sure you do at least one or two to get out and see St. Lucia. It's a beautiful island that you really need to check out. We did the Sugar to Rum tour, the Soufriere Safari, and the Mt. Pimard hike, and would suggest all three. The tours were all led by really knowledgeable guides who really helped us learn more about the island and its culture. I'll have reviews of those tours separately, as while you can book the tours through Sandals, they're technically not part of Sandals and are their own companies. Regency La Toc has its own golf course on site, it plays as a par 33 the first time around and then a par 32 the second time around (there's one par 5 on the course and you only play it once, as there's actually 11 holes on the course). While it's not fancy, per se, the golf course is a real challenge with a lot of downhill/uphill shots and very narrow fairways. It's a great little resort course. There's also an 18 hole championship course up by Grande that I did not have the time to play, but was told it was in great shape by some other vacationers that were there. If you play golf at the resort, make sure to ask for Lennon, he was an amazing caddy. Some other general things that may be helpful: - There's 3 pools on site: The one in the middle (by Pitons restaurant) is by far the most quiet. The one by Armando's is a little busier and has a swim-up bar and waterfalls, but is still relatively quiet. The main pool with a swim-up bar by the Pavilion is both the more bustling one and where you can get on to the beach. I suggest checking all three out. - It's super easy to bounce between the three St. Lucia resorts. There's a shuttle that goes from La Toc to Halcyon and then to Grande. It's worth it to check out the other resorts, as they all have their own feel. - Speaking of, the ocean at La Toc is a little more wavy than Grande. In turn, the green/yellow/red flag system is used more often there and we only had the yellow/green "go swim as you'd like" flags up three of the seven days we were there. Grande is basically lake water, so you'll definitely have an ocean-swimming option regardless. - There's activities going on all day every day around the resort. In the morning there's various exercise things, there's pool games all afternoon, then in the evening there's everything from a singalong piano bar to fire dancers. The resort has a great staff of activity folks, and if you see Brandon running around just follow him. I've legitimately never seen anyone as 'turnt up' about seemingly everything. - While mostly behind the scenes, the housekeeping staff are super nice and make sure you've got everything you need. One of our staff, Laura, was on top of everything and it made for a great experience. While this was our first Sandals experience, it likely won't be the last. Mr. G and his entire staff at Regency La Toc were incredible, and we've already discussed when we can make it back to St. Lucia to do this again. Read less

We just returned from our 5 night stay. We had the best time. The service was superb and we really don't have any complaints. We arrived at airport and they had arranged our shuttle service. We all did cram into shuttle vans for about an hour and 20 minute ride to Sandals La Toc. If you get car sick I would recommend sitting in in the front in the middle seat - lots of winding turns going up and down mountains. When we arrived at the resort they took our bags and took us to the lounge to check in. Someone personally walked us to our room to make sure everything was ok and our suitcases were already in our room waiting for us. We had a spectacular view and the room had everything we needed. We spent the 5 days eating really good food at their 9 different restaurants, dancing, and meeting some amazing people we will now have as lifelong friends. You really don't ever have to leave the resort it has almost everything you need . I will say that if you are more into the non motorized sports/activities then this may not be the place for you as there is not a ton of beach front - I would recommend the Grand for that which is more pricey. Staying here at La Toc you do have access to the other two St. Lucia Sandals Resorts which they will happily shuttle you to! Read less
