The ambience created in the hotel attracts a high rate of repeat visitors and the level of service here is top notch — you'll be impressed by the little touches, like speedy check-in, nightly turn-down service and Champagne cocktails at the intimate Bobster's Champagne Bar. During the day, you can choose from a range of non-motorised water sports and treatments at the tranquil spa, or simply relax by the pool or in the gallery lounge with afternoon tea overlooking the ocean. The setting of this hotel is magnificent, on a man made lagoon, which is very safe for swimming and snorkelling. The beach is raked early, each morning. The grounds are also very grand, and are very well maintained by the grounds staff, and are home to many nesting birds. The rooms are large, with a very comfortable bed. But as the air conditioning unit is situated on the wall by the side of the bed, you are sleeping in a cold draught. All rooms seem to have different lights therein, none of them bright, and are very dark. As stated before, the bathrooms need updating. One of the biggest let downs, especially if you are on an all inclusive package is the food. Breakfast is ok with a large selection of cereals, cold and warm sections. Lunch at the beachside bar is ok on a restricted menu. The biggest disappointment is the dinner menu. Always, American beef, chicken, pork tenderloin, fish and pasta dishes. The menu changes every two days, but it is only the sauce that accompanies the meat that changes. The meat and fish are all overcooked, dry and chewy. 95% of the staff are excellent, friendly and are very good, but one or two leave a lot to be desired. Many previous reviewers speak of the manager being the heart of the hotel, but he was nowhere to be seen when we were there. The biggest gripe at this hotel, is the returners, Brits, who think they own the hotel. They have tables reserved for them in the restaurants, take over seating in the bars, and look down there noses at you, if you are a first timer. We have visited many of the West Indian Islands and this is the worst hotel we have stayed in. Read less

Apart from the hotel's location, with its wonderful beach complete with spectacular sunsets, it's the lovely staff that bring us back. We are genuinely treated as guests in a rambling family home, rather than just customers with room numbers. GM Eric Feniet's team do everything they can to make us feel at home and they spoil us. It's true, the hotel is 'slightly foxed' and needs some TLC but anything that isn't working gets fixed with speed and a smile. Can't wait to return next year. Read less

Bach home today after Two glorious weeks at this lovely hotel., there are lots of comments that it needs TLC , yes it does , and I am sure this is in hand by the management, but don’t let this distract you, these issues will not spoil your holiday as soon as you arrive it’s says “TOBAGO”, it’s not glass, chrome, it’s traditional and speaks… Read more

Location is superb, wonderful clean safe lagoon ,scuba diving ,snorkelling ,or just swim and relaxing is all there for you . The food is okay always appared to fresh and nicely presented. The staff are a credit to the hotel ,98% happy smilie faces greet you each day, and your every need is catered for. The guy on the beach ,Jarred was a gem nothing was to much trouble. Our only niggle is that people that return year after year, (BRITS ,)Seem to LORD IT and appear to get preferential treatment . Such a table reservations , they seem to consider this to be their right. , this is very noticeable by perhaps people on their first holiday there. It creates a them and us situation ????? Read less

Just back from yet another exquisite 3 weeks at this outstanding hotel. You can hear some complaining of a stiff tap etc but call maintenance and it will be fixed in minutes. Just back from yet another exquisite 3 weeks at this outstanding hotel. You can hear some complaining of a stiff tap etc but call maintenance and it will be fixed in minutes. You hear others say the hotel is a bit tired and needs sprucing up. To me and I would say the majority enjoy relaxing in a classic shabby chic Caribbean hotel. But to find things to criticise is to ignore the beautiful gardens as you drive up to the hotel, ignore the view as you arrive at reception, fail to appreciate the stunning lagoon to swim in, fail to relax whilst having long lunches in the beach bar situated literally at the waters edge, fail to embrace the romance of the open air dining room overlooking the sea. All of this is wonderful but would not work without the fantastically efficient staff, they must have eyes in the back of their head as they never fail to notice a near empty wine glass. They love to chat about their families, happily bringing in photos. Similarly the highly trained team would not work so seamlessly well without the superb leadership of Eric Feniet. He appears everywhere throughout the day, will listen to any concern which will be dealt with immediately. He is more than the General Manager he is the hotel. Can't wait to go back next year. We love everything about it; the setting is amazing, the staff are attentive and friendly, and Eric Feniet, the Hotel Manager is everyone’s idea of the perfect hotel manager- receptive, always present, and quietly ensuring his guests have everything needed for a perfect holiday: yes, the hotel Is ‘shabby chic’, and at some time will need some serious investment, but for now that’s is part of it’s charm. Eric is what makes this hotel as good as it is, and is why we and many other regular guests return every year. The old saying is there is no “I” in “Team”, and this applies well here; a perfectly run hotel, geared to total enjoyment and we’ll return every year- as long as Eric is here! Read less
