Need to remove obsolete furniture in porches as it is an eyesore. Lovely grounds and scenery of pool and beach is awesome. One service issue is that we arrived at 2pm and waited for the rooms to be cleaned. They told us closer to 3pm it would be ready but we had to wait until 3:30 pm. They forgot to let us know and we were in the reception area waiting all the time. It was only when we asked did we get the keys☹ Read less

My wife and I visited Tobago late July early August. We spent 2weeks here on the all inclusive basis, our arrival and check in was smooth and friendly and our room had a wonderful view looking out over the beach .the room was clean and suited our needs ,the restaurants consisted of salaki grill , the pembois which was breakfast , lunch and dinner buffet style and the kalina which needed to be booked but wasn’t a problem as you could get a table any evening. We couldn’t fault the food at any of these venues and was a plus point throughout our stay , as has been stated the hotel needs a spruce up and while we were there this was ongoing with quite a lot of activity around the hotel , we hope this is part of a continuous improvement plan which will make the magdalena the top hotel on Tobago because for us the staff throughout this complex deserve a future as bright as their personalities,we done a few trips , an island tour , a rainforest walk with a guide named Lester who was a pleasure to be with .. and visited pigeon point a few times which included a boat trip to nylon pool , we used the hotels bikes and rode round the golf course , and whole plantation including the boardwalk in the mangroves , spotting , caiman, ospreys and countless birds and lizards , a great place if you like to relax on a breezy Caribbean coastline, THE STAFF.. Vinod the hotel manager is a very approachable and friendly guy who always greets you and asks if you need anything , as does Judith who looks after guest relations , Troy and Marc who look after the staff in the restaurants and bars ,both friendly and professional, lovely Anika on reception we chatted too every day , Pamela in the salaki grill , Nigel at the pool bar , Minerva , kesheif, and my new sister Susan plus shunneil and the one and only lamaine plus many many more who all made our stay that little bit more special ,maybe we will return as we don’t generally go back to places , but we had such a pleasant chilled out holiday and met people we’d love to see again . Such a wonderful hotel! Clean, quiet, romantic atmosphere. My husband and i had a blast! The food was great! Just one suggestion: probably some mats eg. At the bathroom and bed floors. The ground can be a bit cold. Otherwise every was fabulous! We would be visiting again! God Bless.

We booked this resort knowing full well it isn’t a beach hotel due to it being on the Atlantic side of Tobago and the current seaweed problem in the carribean at the moment. However my husband and his friend love golf and were interested in playing the course which they described as challenging but thoroughly enjoyable! The shuttle bus is provided daily from 10am with a pick up at 4pm to the beautiful beach at the national trust pigeon point. The staff at the hotel went above and beyond to provide a welcoming and happy environment for the guests. Our room was spacious with a lovely view of the rolling waves of the sea. There was a great choice of food for all tastes and also varied times to suit. Carla and Troy in the buffet restaurant, Tamika and Lamaine in the bar and the pool bar staff. However the staff at the Salaka grill in the afternoon, particularly Pamela, made our day with the great music, wonderful food and fantastic laughs that we would have daily. Lots of choice of drinks and cocktails, particularly the many flavoured daiquiris! They couldn’t do enough for us. The manager Vinod made a point to come and speak to us and check we are having a good time and ask if there was anything that he could do for us,which was very much appreciated. The hotel is situated on the Atlantic side and therefore requires a lick of paint here and there due to the natural erosion of the environment. Tobago is an amazing place to visit with wonderful friendly people, we came 16 years ago and it has remained as charming and almost unchanged, which is it’s character . We would definitely visit again because we felt so welcome and had a wonderful holiday. Read less

Its not the overly eager helpful atmosphere, but its also not the nonexistent type.....My family and I like to go at our pace and privacy, so this was not an issue. The place needs some TLC/ maintenance work... But for our 2 day trip, we totally enjoyed what the hotel had to offer. Definitely recommend and will visit again. Read less
