The staff was very friendly and warm. The room was clean. The food was impeccable and the experience was great value for money. The facilities were also clean and the covid 19 regulations were being enforced.

I regularly visit Tobago as a mini vacation for my kids and resorts are our go-to accommodation. As a parent, I look for kid friendly facilities first and decided I’d try Magdalena for the first time as their prices are excellent right now. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. The service is excellent. Not much to say about that, not a single bad experience, all staff is concerned about the guests’ well being and we never had to wait for anything (aside from our room being sanitized due to Covid but this i can understand) There is a playground on the compound with swings and many slides to keep the kids happy. Also, the main pool, while being the largest I’ve ever seen in Tobago, is 1m deep, perfect for kids and adults alike. While on the topic of pools, there is another (slightly deeper) option that stays open 24/7 for those who fancy a late night swim, I personally enjoyed this. Breakfast was on point and one of the best I’ve had anywhere, there was a wide selection of food and no corners were cut (a theme that was consistent throughout our stay, our room was excellent as well) I have to nitpick to find anything negative to say about the hotel honestly, I can say it’s too big (the GRAND in the name isn’t an idle boast) however management has golf carts in place to ferry guests to their destination on the grounds in a flash. I could say that the beach is rough and filled with seaweed but so was Pigeon Point and the views during the day and at night are very impressive. While I am not the authority on resorts, I have visited a few and I can admit that all have short comings and strengths alike. My new ranking goes something like this: Grafton Beach Resort had the best drinks Tropikist and Magdalena had the best food Coco Reef has the best Private Beach Magdalena has the best pool (sorry Tropikist) I’ll end by saying that, as of right now, Magdalena is my favorite resort in Tobago. The hotel reminded me of the hotels we stayed in Curaçao and St Marteen in the past but better. The sea view is calming and relaxing. The pools were well kept. The room was cosy for 2 adults and 2 children. The food was good. The service was excellent. Mr. Wendel and Ms. Cheren were my MVP's👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿 for service but I can't leave out Tamika, Aliyah, Daniela, Cecilia and Victoria who made life easy helping us cater to our 2 children 👏🏿👏🏿 Get up in the morning walk, run or ride through the compound to get the blood pumping with a good view. Golf, tennis and spa treatments are also available. My favourite thing was the broadwalk through the mangrove along with the sunrises and sunsets. Too much to type but hope by now you get the picture. Thanks again from guest at room 184🤗🤗🤗🤗 Read less
