From making the reservation with Ms. Murray to being welcomed to "his palace" by the bellman, everything just flowed beautifully from there. There was a concern I had and requested to speak to a manager. Normally these things could be overlooked , but on checking out the GM left a note on my file to speak with me. Well done Mr. Vajaj. I was pleased... All the staff I interacted with were both pleasant and professional. Kudos to ALL breakfast staff. I have already book my return with a very pleasant Onika for next month. Read less

We stayed for five nights at the Magdalena Grand in Tobago. During this Covid period, we badly needed a brief vacation and going to Tobago was the only place we could visit since Trinidad and Tobago had suspended all flights in and out of the country. This was our first time staying at Magdalena and we were very satisfied with the visit. All the staff were quite helpful especially Pamela at the breakfast buffet. She was friendly, helpful and we really enjoyed the breakfast with her being there. We normally walk with our pepper sauce from Trinidad and on our first morning at the breakfast she saw this and pleasantly suggested we try Magdelena's pepper sauce which was provided at the buffet. We did, and it was so good that we never again used our Trini pepper sauce at the Magdalena. All staff that we interacted with were pleasant and polite. If I forgot to wear my mask they politely reminded me to do so. Anything that we requested in the room was quickly attended to and they always followed up with a phone call to ensure that the service was provided. The rooms are all Ocean View with a sea-facing balcony. and since the resort is located on the east side of Tobago (the windward side) the wind and the beautiful sound of the sea was constantly there especially when you were on your balcony. Thank you, Magdalena. We had a great vacation. The Pepper Sauce Man Read less

I have visited the Magdalena grand beach and golf resort for the past 5 years of my life at least once per year and it still has the charm which I remembered from my first stay. You can see the staff's attention to detail upon arrival and the rum punch is surely the welcome drink to get. I had a few concerns 1. The wifi service was atrocious. I taught maybe it was to force me to put the phone down and spend time with the family but it became a real inconvenience when I had an important conversation to have often making me go into the stairwell or the cold beach at night for service. 2. The gym seemed outdated with minimal equipment .... the least I've seen at any hotel so maybe take a jog along the beach instead as it is very peaceful and calming 3. I did not understand why I needed these beach towel chits upon check-in as I am accustom to signing for it and being told if I do not have a chit I would be charged US80 dollars was scary so don't lose that 4.The covid focus is immense however one member of staff was really rude when I was at the beach obviously not wearing a mask when I was in the water and asked her for a glass of ice to quickly go back to my room. She said I needed a mask when she had her mask down and her interactions with other customers seemed obnoxious and needed to be taken elsewhere as I would not want to hear about the party she and her colleagues are hosting. We were pleasantly welcomed by Melissa who ensured that we were well taken care of throughout our dinner. Although it was buffet night our gluten free restrictions were no challenge for Chef Neil. We were served a full gluten free three course dinner,no short of delicious. Will definitely be visiting again. Exceptional service...

We recently spent the holidays at the resort and couldn’t ask for a better staycation. Especially after the year that we’ve had, we really needed to get away and get some long overdue R&R. Let’s start with the food which is amazing, hands down they surpassed all my expectations. My husband and I are golfers and the golf course is in good condition and the staff were always friendly when ever we needed a ride to the golf club. My kids enjoyed the pool so much. The breakfast display is spectacular with so much choices to choose from. We also appreciated and enjoyed the bonfire and fireworks display on the beach to ring in the New Year. Thank you Magdalena Grand for a wonderful stay and we can’t wait to return!” Sam, cor, miles, charlee and julie. Read less
