I stayed at Magdalena from April 11-18 through Sunwing and was blown away by the island of Tobago. This is by far the best trip I have ever been on, if you are reading these reviews contemplating your stay, book it now and do not hesitate. I will list the pro's and con's of the resort. Pro's - The staff at this resort are incredible. I made great connections with people such as Mandisa, Desreen, Yolanda, Ephran the engineer, and ram the taxi driver. All of these staff deserve a special shout out for the hard work they do everyday at this resort. - Take the island tour with ram, the hotels taxi driver. He showed us around the island and took us to some incredible spots. Also, book local taxi rides with ram if you are planning on going to sunday school or other local events. - Pigeon point is a 10 minute free shuttle bus away. Be prepared to pay 20tt a person to enter the park, 30tt per beach chair, and more for an umbrella. Pigeon point has a great bar called outback restaurant, highly recommend eating and drinking there, although it could be a little pricey. - Salakas grill was the best option in terms of food at this resort, the fine dining restaurant was not that good. The buffet was okay. Try and get some local food like doubles and roti outside the resort. - The swimming pools are clean, and maintained daily. On a rainy day you can take a dip into the pool instead of going to the beach. - The resort itself is very safe, and is located on a plantation close to a great fine dining restaurant called Fairways. It is pricey, but I recommended trying it out. Con's - The hotel was outdated, needs renovations and a new ownership. If you are the type of person to stay at luxery hotels, do not stay here. If you don't mind seeing broken tiles, seaweed all over the beaches, broken down chairs, then you will be okay. I did not pay attention to these things therefore I was fine, however the people who did pay attention were not impressed. Just be aware that this resort is not luxery. - Rooms were not cleaned everyday, the housekeeping ladies would just forget. - Service around the hotel was slow. - There is no entertainment all week long, only on fridays and saturdays, so be prepared to find your own entertainment on this resort. If you like to party, go down to crowne point at night. - The resort is boring, theres not much to do so if you like to hang at the resort all day, dont stay here. If you adventure off and use the resort to sleep in, stay here. This was the most amazing vacation I have ever been on. Sunwing looks like they will be launching this all inclusive option next year with hopes that this hotel will be renovated. I would not stay here again because I had more of an interest in the Caribbean side, however I would come back and visit Magdalena anytime. It was truly a dream paradise island and I'm so happy I got to visit. Thank you to all the kind staff at this resort that made my stay unforgettable. One love from Tobago! Read less

We stayed at the Magdalena Grand Beach Resort from April 4 - 11, 2019. The staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment that we arrived. Our room was large and very clean with a king bed and a large washroom with a separate shower and tub. We had an ocean view room and the view was beautiful. It didn't matter where we ate, from the buffet to the patio café to the restaurant. The food was delicious. You could tell that it was freshly made and the quality was good. Since the resort is on the Atlantic side of the island the water is rough. The resort offers a free shuttle to Pigeon Point Beach on the Caribbean side of the island. There is a small entry fee of approximately $4 Canadian. The beach is beautiful and the hotel will pack a lunch for free to take along with you. We had wonderful walks through the resort property which is safe and enjoyable. We sat by the beautiful pool and enjoyed the view of the ocean. Right at the front of the resort by the gift shop we found a little café where we would stop and have cappuccinos. The shop was so quaint and Desireen who ran the café from 10-6 was a pleasure. We looked forward to going in daily to have our coffee and one of her delicious sweets and enjoying her company. We had a problem with a lost passport. When we advised the manager Judy Rampersad, she went right to work investigating how to help us. She contacted local authorities, the Sunwing representative, the Canadian Consulate and hotel management in order to help us. The passport was found 3 days later. Judy arranged to have it picked up and delivered to our room. We would have been completely overwhelmed if it was not for Judy who went above and beyond anything that we could have imagined. We will never forget how much she helped us. We would recommend this resort. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious and the resort has so many lovely areas to enjoy the beautiful Tobago weather. Read less

My husband and I stayed here April 4-11, 2019. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about this resort---the spectacular views, friendly welcoming staff, amazing food, comfortable clean room, complimentary wifi, beautiful pools, the list goes on. A few of the staff members we will never forget are Krystal (buffet) who welcomed us warmly in the mornings to breakfast, Pamela, who treated us with such care and concern during dinner at the buffet and also Yolanda, at Robinson Crusoe Pub for a lovely and memorable conversation, as well as Troy, lovely smiles and warm welcomes wherever we met and there are many other wonderful staff members who helped make our stay so memorable and positive. Our room was sunny and clean with a king size bed which we found quite comfortable. Bathroom offers separate tub and shower and lots of counter space. Also a lighted makeup mirror which I thought was a nice touch. We were very impressed with the quality of the food, the friendliness of the staff as well as the overall appearance of the property. We are already talking about a possible return in the near future. Read less
