Paradise Cove

Mauritius, Indian Ocean

The hotel

Nestled in beautiful tropical gardens, Paradise Cove Boutique Hotel is a gorgeous adults-only boutique hotel, offering guests a secluded retreat from the world. Aptly named, it really is paradise here with a pristine white beach and exceptional views of the lagoon and the northern islands from the peninsula. Highly romantic, the resort even offers ‘love nest’ twin sun beds. Also recommended is a visit to Spa Cinq Mondes. Not only does it boast a pool, hammam and flower baths, you can treat yourself to an Indian Ayurvedic massage — sure to banish any lingering cares! At the Paradise Cove, water sports are very much the order of the day, from snorkelling to water-skiing. Come dusk, Stay Bar is the place to sip on tropical cocktails whilst admiring the sunset. There’s live and unplugged music here too but first enjoy dinner at a choice of restaurants. For local dishes, the Dining Room is ideal or experience Asian fusion cuisine at XO. For a real treat, book a table at The Cove — highly romantic, tables for two are set in small huts, right on the beach, beside a coconut grove.

We had a wonderful time at the beautiful hotel with its great staff. Despite Boutique and individual you have plenty of choices between places to relax or dinner options, which allows varying experiences. Also when the Corona situation come closer they were very caring and we felt save!

We were lucky enough to enjoy 11 wonderful days at Paradise Cove. I can honestly say this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in for a number of reasons: Staff - so friendly and accommodating. They can't do enough for you. On arrival we were welcomed by Daniella who took the time to tell us everything we needed to know and show us around the hotel and was always checking to see how we were throughout our stay. The restaurant staff were all brilliant too - special mention to Deepak and John who really looked after us, especially when my husband was poorly, arranging for specific meals to be made etc. Michael is also very attentive during the day bringing a continuous supply of drinks and cleaning your sunglasses! I have mentioned just a few by name but everybody was brilliant. Food - Amazing! any concerns I had about going all inclusive (overcooked buffets and chips with everything) were quickly alleviated after the first meal. The food is cooked and presented to an extremely high standard and absolutely everything I had was delicious. The main restaurant offers a la carte menus and themed buffet nights, all of which had a great variety of choices for a three course meal (don't come here if you are on a diet!) Otherwise you can try the sushi or Pennsula (tapas) restaurants, again both brilliant. Breakfast selection is very good and if you want lunch you can do so overlooking the sea at Peninsula (really good menu choices) or at the "snack" bar - more of a dinner than a snack! Surroundings - the resort is beautiful and attention to detail in the layout/decor is stunning. There are numerous places to relax in privacy. You can find a sheltered love nest with views overlooking the sea or there is the beach and pool areas. You always see the staff keeping the place clean, tending to the gardens etc. Rooms - I was quite overwhelmed when I first walked in to our room because it was so beautiful with an amazing view looking out across the lagoon. Lovely comfy huge bed and his and her sinks and showers! Mini bar replenished daily and we were provided with extra water and clean beach towels in the daily turn down service. For those that like the gym, it is well equipped and nice and clean. You can also play tennis if you wish and my husband used one of the hotel bikes to venture in to Grand Baie. We also hired a car one day and went to the markets at Goodlands and Port Louis when the weather wasn't so good. Cant recommend enough and we definitely plan to return. Thank you Paradise Cove for a wonderfull holiday. Read less

Currently still guests who reluctantly have to leave earlier than planned, we already knew on the first day that we want to come back next year. This is our third trip to Mauritius but the first to this hotel. You simply can’t fault it in any way. Clean, quiet, lovely grounds and amenities, super comfy HUGE beds, and wonderfully cheerful and kind staff (Deepak and Sangeeta you are more than a credit to the hotel thank you. Viveak and John in the restaurant too are first class. Steffi and Manoj you are excellent ). The rooms have everything you could want, plenty of hot water at all times and efficient cooling from the air con. The AI plan means that if you were so inclined, you could eat and drink yourself silly all day every day! The glass bottom boat ride is great and we saw people water ski, paddle board, and out on the rather posh pedalos! The staff are all attentive and so friendly. They quickly get to know your likes and dislikes (vodka and tonic at 1030 am , and if there’s is something you wanted on the menu, they will make it for you. Nothing seems to be a problem, which as a guest, is great, as sometimes you can feel a little awkward asking for something different to eat for instance. The main restaurant has themed nights, which have plenty of tasty dishes to choose from, and otherwise the a la Carter is of an incredibly good standard. All the food is, no matter where you eat. Wines are good - go for the Pinotage if you like red - and all drinks seem pretty strong. The staff are always offering you water, coffee and drink of all kinds and each night you are delivered a large bottle of water when turn down time comes. Didn’t get to go on the catamaran as we have to go early, but can recommend that even just on price alone. Are there any areas I could criticise? Honestly, no. Come here, enjoy the setting and the service, eat well, do everything or nothing, it’s all great. Thank you to everybody. We will be back next year. Read less

The layout of the hotel has been well thought out and is such that it enables you to feel as if you are in an exclusive tropical setting almost everywhere. The staff were all very friendly, highly attentive and impressed us by remembering our drinks order on numerous occasions! Four delightful restaurant options, of which we tried three, produced some beautifully presented fabulous food. This place is not to be overlooked in your search. Faultless. Read less

The Paradise Cove boutique hotel is truly a wonderful gem, in a beautiful location by the Indian Ocean on the northern most tip of Mauritius. We had a 7 night stay to complete our holiday, after a busy 2 weeks in SA. There is no better place to relax and wind down. Mauritius is a beautiful place with beautiful people who are rightfully proud and knowledgeable about their island. We had room 803 which was very spacious, incredibly clean and comfortable, with a private veranda overlooking the cove and good additional facilities and services. The grounds are spacious, peaceful, clean and safe with colourful, well maintained gardens, pools, a beach cove, bars and dining areas. We particularly loved the infinity pool at the Peninsula, where we whiled away hours in the sun on comfortable sunbeds (always available due to a strict no leaving towels policy!!). We enjoyed a delicious light lunch and beers served in the Peninsula bar / dining area overlooking the Indian Ocean and entertained by the many delightful, colourful birds that joined us … magical. There was a vast choice for breakfast, always beautifully presented and the evening a la carte menu was faultless. The bars, dining areas, lounges and public areas were tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. There was an excellent choice of drinks included, we particularly enjoyed the Phoenix beer, Pearly Bay red and pre dinner cocktails. Various low key but quality acts provided entertainment in the main lounge bar area every night. Last but not least, every member of staff was super friendly, hospitable, polite and conscientious They couldn’t do enough for you, with a big generous smile which made our stay even more special. A fabulous place. We loved every minute, would definitely recommend it and will hopefully return one day. Thank you very much for a happy and memorable stay Read less
