Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort

Abu Dhabi, Middle East

The hotel

Fresh on the Abu Dhabi hotel circuit, this sparkling new Jumeirah outpost sits on arguably the best stretch of sand on Saadiyat Island, a unique eco-destination which balances luxury with sustainability. It’s easy to see why they’re keen to preserve this beautiful patch of the UAE, with its nesting turtles, visiting dolphins, and twisting mangroves creating a refreshingly unspoilt holiday setting for thoughtful travellers. But, being in tune with initiatives like using reusable water bottles, doesn’t equal missing out on today’s luxuries – and Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort comes with an over-the-top menu of infinity pools (we count three), spa treatments (which are taken in a space with a sumptuous Moroccan hammam twist), and plentiful bars and restaurants (with seven venues created to let you wine and dine your nights away together).

If you stayed in this place you will never go to another one! Great staff, great facilities, great food, perfect beach. Everything’s at its best! Special thanks to Ms. Amanda for her great smoothies, to Mr. Raju, Mr. Shib, Mr. Brahim and everyone who made our stay so memorable.

Very pretty and comfy. It yook me a bit to figure how the lights works. The rpom smelled of fresh paint, gotten a bad headache the first night. They send electric humidors to air refresher the room it worked! Don't miss the walk on the beach so serine and calmly quite. Breakfast is not included. All amenities you pay for it. Heated pool is great & not deep, nice for kids to swim alone. Loved the beach and the swim in the sea. Even thpugh it was mid November but the water is nixe and clean. Read less

In one line, Jumeirah Saadiyat Resort ranks with some of the best luxury 5* beach resorts I have stayed across the world from Maldives to Mykonos. Given there hasn’t really been a comprehensive review, I will make my best attempt to highlights the pros/cons and tips for guests. Plus: - The hotel looks amazing, and sparkling new given this hotel is only one year old. Right from the moment you step in, the lobby is beautiful, stylish and grand. The rooms are large and everything is very luxurious from the tea bags used to the lobbies. - The beach is amazing! White sand (although not Maldives- white, but not far from it) and clear blue water. Very warm water even in November. - The restaurants are great, my favourite is White restaurant which serves daily buffet. I was sceptical about the quality of buffet at first but on a nightly basis, they serve 1)Indian 2) Japanese 3) Chinese/ South East Asian 4) Arabic food. My favourite is the Japanese section - they serve Salmon and Tuna nigiris which are fantastic, special shout out to the chef Jayson at the Japanese section - his sushi making skills are second to none. Overall, I really can’t speak highly enough of the chefs as they are so friendly and helpful. They change the food selection at the buffet so that guests don’t get bored. - Spa is excellent with many facilities including hydro pool, sauna, steam room, cold dip. - The staff are great overall, really attentive service. The staff definitely has a ‘yes - can do’ attitude to meet all requests of guests. E-concierge which is operated via WhatsApp is very helpful and you feel like someone is there to help you wherever you are, whether you are at the beach or outside in the city. Minus: - Beware of construction sites around hotel, ask hotel for more information upon booking. - Spa is amazing overall and has lots of facilities - but several hydro pool facilities don’t work for in both the male and female areas. - I agree with some of the other comments on the noise level in the evening which seems to noisy. I believe the music comes from ‘The Lounge’ which has a big Bose speaker outside at the terrace bar. I can imagine it becoming very noisy for guests staying near the bar which stays open till midnight and even later in a Friday. Tips: 1. Free access to observation tower at Etihad Towers in Jumeirah’s downtown hotel. 2. You can make use of the shuttle to get to more central places, for example I took the shuttle to the Etihad Towers stop, and took a short taxi ride from there. This is much cheaper than taking a taxi ride directly from hotel. 3. The hotel provides you with free plastic re-usable bottles and has various water stations near the beach/pool - the water has a distinct taste which you might/might not mind. Give it a try and if you don’t like the taste, the nearest supermarket is Waitrose. 4. Make use of the happy hour at ‘The Lounge’ on the fifth floor which is from 8-12pm. The other location for happy hour available is from 5-8pm at the ‘Offside bar’, which is not advertised a lot. 5. Many of the sun beds further away from the center do not have WiFi. If you need wifi - try to get the sun beds near the Center earlier in the morning as they are the highest in demand. Or stay near the adults pool. Read less
