Having stayed at Ritz Riyadh, St Regis, Abu Dhabi I had great expectation especially in terms of customized service where such hotels go out of the way to ensure customer delight but found that lacking with Ritz, Abu Dhabi This is a great hotel if you are on a vacation but for a long term business traveller they hardly go out of the way to even fulfill small requests- for example a type of the tea is available during breakfast but flatly refuse to serve it for in-room dining! Rude attendants who give "i dont care a damn" attitude when you tell them that I am on business trip and would be there for many months in this hotel - a compete opposite to what I have found in other hotels where they go out of the way to ensure comfort for the customers. Probably, they think these customers aren't going anywhere and hence make little effort to please them Given a choice I would go for Westin who are super helpful or St Regis who go out of the way to ensure customer delight. Ritz has a long way to catch especially in the in-room dining category. Read less

Warm to go into and lots of space to swim with a dedicated area for children. The staff really make the place. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and special and that is what makes this place relaxing and superb. We chose club level where we had food and drink at no extra cost although you pay for it when you book club level. The food was very good and the only complaint I have is that they serve prosecco instead of champagne. I think a hotel of this category should serve the real thing. Disappointing and it was not a good prosecco. However I do want to criticise their obsessive use of plastic. This is so bad for our environment and I would love if the Ritz Carlton Grand Canal addressed this issue as it is so important to all the clients who come here. Special mentions must go to Irfan and Eranga at the pool area who really went above and beyond what is expected to make our holiday so relaxing and memorable. The venetian village attached to the hotel is a lovely place to walk at any time. Perfect in every way. We will be back. Read less

Our second part stay in Abu Dhabi is here at the Ritz-Carlton on the Grand Canal. A short shuttle ride to the Grand Mosque is why we chose this hotel. A grand attractive entry up the ramp to the main entry and we were greeted by a gracious staff who welcomed us with open arms. They took our rental car and luggage and we went straight up to the Club level lounge where we checked in. Nice top floor lounge with all the drinks and snacks included with our stay because of our status. The view over looking the horse shoe shaped hotel of the pool and grand canal was awesome!!! Our room, 2619, was clean, roomy, double sink, great shower pressure, great view of the pool and canal. Bed was also super comfy makes it a super night of rest. The club lounge was perfect for breakfast, lunch and a light snack. A free shuttle to the Grand Mosque was key!!! A reservation was made at the club lounge level with two tickets needed for entry. Club level hosts were aces!!! All our questions, needs were taken care of. Great customer service at its highest level!!! Shout out to RANGA, RAGI, CAROLINA, INDRIA!!! SALMAN at the front entry area was superb!!! Greeting us everyday by name!!! RUSHNA at the gym and a sales associate was key in attempting to find me an extra large Ritz- Carlton golf shirt in my size. I collect a Ritz golf shirt from every resort!!! And FAYAS who came promptly to get our luggage for our departure. And we can’t forget the two pool staff members ANVIL and ERAGE Who was there to set up our lounge chairs and to provide “Shadow” (umbrella) and a bucket of ice with bottled water!!! Awesome!!! Overall, great stay, great location, the Ritz is always on our list to stay!!! Great two dinners here at the steakhouse and Chinese, see separate reviews. Awesome helpful staff!!! Enjoy your stay!!!😴😴😴 Read less

We stayed in one of the Venetian rooms not far from the main hotel buildings - that suited us fine - it was a nice walk in the evening and was probably quieter than in the main building. The swimming pool was utilised a few times, and the attendants were very quick to provide sunbeds, towels and cold bottled water - a plus. There was also a swimming area on the canal, near to the pool area. Breakfasts were very good with a huge range, service was quick to obtain a table and also quick to take plates etc away when finished, although we did think that the breakfasts were on the pricier side. The accommodation was of good size with a very comfortable bed, great bathroom and shower - couldn't be faulted. All staff were friendly yet unobtrusive - well done. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is basically across the road from the hotel, and with the domes lit up at night, it was very impressive from the Ritz-Carlton Read less
